CCP, refusing to let people shop now

Decided to Omega an alt on sale, but is getting:

<some Russian I can’t verify does not contain information to not share>

If you’re not located or registered in the Russian Federation, please create a support ticket.

Misplacing like a quarter around the globe, well done!

And no, I am not going to spend time making a ticket to fix the errors in your spyware for you.

EDIT Broke the link, and can only say - CCP get some proper forums that don’t mess up layout like this.

So if I get this correct you are not in Russia but the payment method assumes you are in Russia?

Are you using a VPN by any chance?

Making a ticket is probably more helpful than spending time making a forum post though.

I think the easiest solution to your problem is to click that link and make a support ticket. That’s how CCP can help you. Posting on the forum only shares your problem with other players like us to see, but unless one of us knows the problem you’re facing I bet the support team of CCP can help you better. And if a player knows the problem, I bet the solution involves contacting support. Or turning off the VPN.

You can reach CCP support by making a support ticket.

That depends how you define helpful.

Sure I can find the errors for them, and help them hide this new level of spyware. Working for free.

Others may consider it more helpful to remind them, they need to deliver a somewhat working product if they want money.

You have a problem right?

You want it to be fixed right?

Then it can be helpful for you to make a support ticket to get the help that you need to get this fixed.

Also it’s not really ‘spyware’ for a website to know which country your browser accesses the internet from. It’s pretty common for websites to know where you come from, based on your IP for example. Websites can make use of it to provide you prices in your local currency.

If you’re worried for your location to be tracked like that you can access the internet from another point, via a Virtual Private Network. Such a VPN hides where you access the internet from.

Likewise a VPN could be the reason you’re getting this error.

If you are currently using a VPN that makes the website think you are in Russia then it is the VPN that causes your problem.

You may want to read the first post again.

No, he’s right if you are using a VPN then this makes sense, if your concerned about spyware then you shouldn’t even be using a browser as it active tracks what you look up or do so it can give you ads

Only trolls talk about VPN here.

you know what, people are trying to help you fix this and you are refusing to even go through the proper paths to get these things fixed. so maybe just maybe you should go outside, touch some grass.

It appears you do not want to be helped.

Why did you post?

You know what, I’ll stop trying to help.

Does this mean if you -are- in the Russian Federation, it means you aren’t allowed to submit a ticket?

That’s a bit harsh.

No, I bet that the customers who are in the Russian Federation see the correct page and can use the payment methods visible there, and that this ‘create a support ticket’ banner is only there in case someone accidentally sees that page while they’re not in Russia.

That’s just an assumption. Maybe if we got more information from Laubrani we would know what is happening here.

How would I have the information?

@ISD_Drew can you do something please?

The question was too hard for you to answer, so you an ISD to answer it for you?

The Russian text may explain what to do, as mentioned I cut it out because I got no idea if it contains information I do not want to share.

Can we conclude from that that you do not speak Russian and do not live in Russia?

It can be useful to share such information explicitly when you ask for help about a banner that asks if you live in Russia. Some people on this forum do live in Russia so that banner isn’t such a strange sight.

Next, have you tried opening that page again at a later day?
Does it give the same error?
Does it happen on all your accounts?
Do you use a VPN? (No need to say so if you don’t want to, but it could explain why the website thinks you’re in Russia - try turning it off and try again.)
Have you tried making a support ticket yet?

Read the first post again, fx the part with russia beign a quarter around the globe and such.

Also you did still not answer the question.

Russia is even bigger than ‘a quarter around the globe’, full of people that can feel missplaced by such a message.

I guess I interpreted your comment the wrong way.

About stating things explicitly, are you using a VPN? I did not hear a ‘no’, I only heard an insult.

You would not be the first to try and trick the game into giving you better Russian prices by using a VPN, but it also explains your issue.
