Man, just stop it. Salvos is right about this case. None you or him paid for this PLEX so it was not paid for. It does not matter whether it was gift, or bonus or anything from CCPs side.
And about event PLEXes: do you have any proofs that they were not created from thin air? You know, mentioning unicorns when you have no proofs is not very good move…
No he really isnt. He made a case and was unable or refused to back it up. Theres not one shred of hard data included in any of his statements, and even if he is right about there existing free PLEX, he himself admitted that the number was so small as to be statistically irrelevent.
That means he spend days arguing about the existence of something thats mathematically irrelevent to the outcome.
There is no proof that these plex aren’t confiscated plex, which were paid for. as the smarter business (and ingame-economical) decision is to use confiscated plex, it is unreasonable to assume they create fresh plex out of thin air. it’s that simple, really. we can only speculate, but we shouldn’t speculate that CCP is stupid when it comes to the economy.
Because more and more leechers and carebears infect new players’ minds with it, so they don’t just play but instead grind for isk, to reach a sub. that it is too easy to make money makes it worse.
At one point people have to get their points straight:
PLEXING is not freeloading because someone has to buy the PLEX and sell it
CCP should do something so I can get cheaper PLEX
Pick one. Either you want to freeload and don’t mind beeing called a freeloader or you are fine with the fact that you pay the ISK I want for my PLEXES I bought with cash.
The Titanic was equipped with a Telegraph and a Marconigraph but was not equipped with voice telegraphy. Not even military ships of the first world war had this.
There was debate at the time of the Titanic which system would become the most widely adopted, with wireless telepraphy winning and continuing in use for many decades.
It is also I believe accepted that Marconi invented the telephone first, but Bell was the first to patent a design and so it usually creditted with it, especially in the US.
Surely, an accident at a nuclear plant has nothing to do with the price of PLEX?
A quick Google-search turned up a rather alarming number of nuclear accidents in - let us say - the western parts of the world. Although fallout was nowhere near that of the tragic Chernobyl incident, there were deaths, and I think it highly irresponsible (not to say insensitive) of you to treat these matters as suitable for lighthearted banter on an internet video game forum.
Learn where to draw the line, or have it drawn for you.
PLEX is so expensive right now that I haven’t bought one off the market in ages. Or was that the other thread?
Hi Yellow, I always speak out when I feel moved to do so, and I’m (usually) careful to take the wider view, as I did, above.
If by ‘reality’ you mean that a radioactive substance was indeed released into the atmosphere following a nuclear incident at a location in the Ukraine (former Soviet Union), you are correct; and so was the poster, by implication.
I maintain though that this was more than off-topic (which doesn’t bother me), more even than the controversial insertion of RL politics (bashing the CCCP and Russia) into the EVE forums; it was a tasteless and immature attempt at humour off the back of real-world tragedy.
I always ask for self-restraint. I do so not in the expectation of its happening, but in order to plant a seed, whose fruit is equanimity, without a certain amount of which it is difficult to discuss anything in a reasonable fashion.
It worked with a certain S, who became severely rattled when forced to step back and take stock. I quickly deleted the post as soon as I became aware that he’d read it.
You pay $15 (or whatever else) to buy a subscription AND a PLEX for your buddy. It is a package.
If I buy a menu at McDonalds how much do I pay for the fries? How much for the coke? How much for the burger? How much for the patty of that burger? How much for the lettuce? How much for the pickle?
YOU CANT SEPARATE COSTS IN A PACKAGE DEAL. You pay for the whole, not a part of it.
You pay only for the burger, of course, but they manage to bait you into paying way over price by adding free stuff to it! How hard can it be to understand that? All the additional goodies don’t cost them anything, they just create them out of thin air! Wow, man, do you even run a business? Next you claim workers need to be paid too!
I hope prices go up even more. 2-3 billion for every 500 plex sound awesome to me. Because I actually buy it. Some nerd wants to spend in-game money to fund my time, who am I to say no.
