CCP sucks all flavour out of mining with 'Veldspar II-Grade"

I can hardly wait now for the 18th. Rookie Chat will be lit up with questions and since most of the vets don’t pay attention, they won’t have any answers either. Should be interesting to read all that mayhem on Tuesday of next week. Anyone asking, Where’s my Dense … ? I will have this thread as the hot link in my notepad. Then they can crab all they want to CCP about it. Not that they care.

Have fun!

It is certainly pointless if they don’t want to expend any effort, but it can be done. For instance:

Glowing < Bright < Blinding

The classification is implicit in the descriptors without needing a grad-level vocabulary.

Thank you, at least you know what it is like to have a hive- mind of a miner ant.

I have to say that as a long time player I am disappointed by this change - as I think the OP said, it reduces the immersion factor by just that little bit. I can still remember undocking in my mining laser armed Armageddon in Stain and getting excited coz I could go mine those interesting rocks …. less fun when there is no mystery.

is it a different ccp developing the game these days? i feel like its a different ccp from 10,15 years ago…they changed alot but it mostly feel aesthetics and not very intelligent it seems….and whats with or the corny and cringey writing in game? like all the ship “mottos”

my god, i was thinking if they slap some random dialogue of quotes from max payne or bioshock or some tv show like breaking bad or westworld, that is unrelated and doesnt make sense it would still be cooler than whatever this is….

Cool how the ore grade is clear from the name, and the inventory sorting is nice. The flowery descriptions feel like LOTR online, while the sci-fi-style grades feel more like EVE.

Thanks for your opinion.

People seem emotional, likely because they misunderstand the change. It reminds me of when Steam introduced paid workshop content—meant to improve things—but users thought they’d have to pay for all mods and reacted emotionally, so Steam dropped it.

As a result, modders can’t easily be compensated, and the Workshop is worse off. But i digress.

Why do you accuse people who dislike this change from ‘misunderstanding the change’?

Are you trying to provoke a reaction like some troll?

@Gerard_Amatin You say the change removes all flavor from mining and compare it to using an aimbot. If you weren’t trying to provoke an emotional reaction from people, that’s what it ended up doing.

That was an analogy. Not in my opening post, but as part of my discussion with you, in an attempt to get a point across to you.

I’m sorry if it made you emotional.

It seems like you aren’t interested in making people emotional but that’s what you’ve accomplished it seems. There does not seem to many balanced responses

I’m surprised I made your chat bot emotional. I did not know this was possible.

You seem to be missing there is more than 20 base ores? Will their higher grade variants all be called Glowing < Bright < Blinding?

Cool, I like this change. Soon they can move onto other things like drones and ships. Eg, Caldari Small Drone I, Gallante Medium Drone II. Oh! Then we found have the Amarr Assault Frigate and compare it directly to the Caldari Assault Frigate! None of this Vengence vs Hawk garbage. Who wants to fly a Golem when you can fly a Caldari Support Battleship II?

Descriptions or classifications are meant for the variations of an ore.

You’re talking about base ores themselves. Different thing.

Exactly!

That’s how I feel about this as well.

Shuttles shouldn’t have ‘shuttle’ in their names—for example, the Caldari Shuttle could be renamed to Ariel.

Nice suggestion, make your own thread for it.
