Let’s be real: no one cares about shuttles.
Why not? ![]()
I assume you’ve been sarcastic (though even if not) but just for the record both could coexist for ships and drones and such at the same time. A primary name with flavor and a secondary descriptive one (though maybe it already exists) and is just isn’t displayed right under a ship’s name prominently.
Alternatively it could be an option in the settings what to display (the flavor name or the descriptive one) and this could work for ores too as it doesn’t require to squeeze in both names somehow.

Adding a toggle for the new or old names sounds like a great idea.
If only it doesn’t create extra confusion when one person is talking about ‘Dense Veldspar’ while the other sees ‘Veldspar II-Grade’.
If you are against confusing players you should support the new names
I want my Grade II Gallente Extractor, bright and clean,
Humming through asteroid fields, a miner’s dream machine.
Pulling riches from the void, serene and pure
—My fortune forged in ore, Gallente and sure.
Go the whole way. Veldspar is still too flavorful. Just call it Tritanium-bearing Ore I, II, or III. What the hell is pyroxeres? Why do I have to click on the industry tab to find out it has pyrite and mexallon in it?
And yeah, I’m being sarcastic.
It is.
They started to employ YouTube “content creators” instead of game developers.
There has to be two mind views with the CCP developers. One side that attempts (and succeeds) creating these beautiful graphics with lighting, shadows, etc. Then the other side that drives for the wording dumbed down to the dumbest of dumb.
While I am not following Eve Frontiers, are the naming of items simplified there? Many times CCP attempts to utilize cross-over coding aspects so the simple naming here might be in part because of their new project(s).
Simplifying ore names seems like a good idea. List the pros and cons urself
Hey, I can do one better – all capsuleer names will be converted to ‘Gallente Citizen 11199270000182699999’, ‘Amarr Citizen 10222912527289203000000’, and so on. Player names are too flavorful and unnecessarily complex. New players can’t possibly remember them all!
Give all T2 items their own name?
For example 10MN Afterburner II should have a more flavorful name. The icon earmark indicates it’s T2.
This is not the roleplay forum, you don’t have to roleplay as forum troll here.
Why don’t T2 items need flavorful names? Lets discuss
Sure, make your own thread for it.
Flavorful names are a double edged sword
Because it’s technology. Like Playstation |, Playstation ||, Playstation |||… We could call it Playstation T2, Playstation T3….
Some people use “Mark” instead of “ ||, |||..”
All items that would occur naturally in the world should have a name, Luna, Jupiter, Uranus…
PlayStation keeps its name because it’s a brand
Internet isn’t a brand yet they add “2.0”, as in Second Iteration.
Planes, which is also technology, are called by their numbers “747” “DC-3” “777”
Tony Stark called his technology “Mark ||, Mark |||…”
No asteroid has never had a “grade” attached to its name, they all have a name sometimes with some numbers.
Anyway. I don’t see what’s wrong with the current name. It’s one of those “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it” type thing.
