Don’t know whats your problem is, but using the onboard scanner just tells you all you need. And as long as you don’t swap the rocks it will even tell you how much it’s left every cycle.

Right click the scan button with the survey module fitted and you can access the old scanner overview that shows volume.

Destroyed? They dumbed it down tenfold for you people. Apparently even that’s not enough…

Mining just got obliterated.

Equip the new mining chipset module and you can see the contents of the rocks.

It only gives you a “health bar” on the target to tell you how much of the rock you’ve got left.

:roll_eyes:

They implemented that feature from Echoes. Just be glad they didn’t add auto-mining as well. Yes, in Echoes it automatically mines the next asteroid you have targeted after the one you are currently mining pops…

yet :thinking:

:eyes: :psyccp: :smirking_face:

Let’s state it like it is, just the truth the fanboys don’t want to hear….another anti pve patch from ccp disguised as pve ‘update’ no one asked for or wanted(like RESIDUE! f.e.)…..slow poison given, the frog boiled slow so he doesn’t get being cooked…….another nail in the coffin for pve.

I will toss it out here, but as I stated over in the other thread about the modifications. get use to them, it is my experience, no amount of forum rants will revert the changes. No matter how stupid.

My observation is this, Eve is suppose to be sandbox with limitless ability to modify ships. I was in my frigate hauler when I entered the game, could not find the built in scanner. So I asked in Rookie chat…

What are you blind? It is just right of the cap!

I don’t see it.

Relog in you must be … blah blah blah…

Of course it took me forever, to find it only appears on qualified vessels. So CCP is now saying we are no longer allowed to mine in warships, haulers, etc.. Limitations now apply. I guess the next step will be to place D-scan on only some of the ships, probably the ones behind the omega wall? I bet you are salivating over that one.

Like I said, our collective opinions will not change a thing. It is their game to destroy and pay someone to destroy it. I have seen it happen before, very sad when it does. All you can do is enjoy what you have left. I have no financial investment here. I still play on Black Desert and hang out here with a few friends. I think this game has become like so many others I know, it is now a social media site like Facebook. :rose:

Then you can easily point out what ccp destroyed with this patch?

They didn’t destroy mining — they just changed the UI and everyone is acting like the servers got unplugged.

You can still mine, you can still scan rocks, and you can still figure out which ones are worth chewing on. It’s just not handed to you in giant neon letters anymore.

Grades were literally added to give you a faster way to filter quality at a glance. If you want exact volume, you already have tools in-game to check that. If the system feels clunky or incomplete, by all means give CCP feedback, but calling it ‘destroyed mining’ is pure drama.

Mining in EVE has survived every nerf, buff, rework, uprising, and apocalypse patch for 20 years. It’ll survive a UI tweak.

I actually thought the new system and information was better.

I won’t go as far as destroyed, more like they are working on it.

They have a thread on here about the ore name change, a week before they changed them;
Veldspar = Veldspar Grade 1
Dense Veldspar = Veldspar Grade 2
etc…

This doesn’t hurt or help a player, but it removes flavor content. It was done so a code monkey at CCP can sort a list alphabetically. This makes the game content too generic.

Next, I purchased cheap ML-3 modules so I can scan down fields in low sec. Now I must use a “qualified” vessel to scan down the field and risk losing it instead. Fortunately the scanner is on my free corvette, so they now will get blown up scanning down possible mining fields. Meanwhile all my scanners are now converted booster crystals. I prefer it the way it was, or left the survey scanners alone in the game so I can fit them on other ships.

They added a mining destroyer. Maybe it should be called a destroyed miner? I plan to check it out in more detail. It looks like ganker candy in my opinion. Meaning people will buy this for 15 to 20 million ISK and watch as gankers easily blow them up. I don’t see any survivable fit yet, in any of my simulations.

New kids will eat the cookies and drink the Kool Ade, CCP will continue to make the game less and less, like the old game you knew as it was before. Eventually you conform to their standards or you break free and seek new horizons. My son is going to bring over his PlayStation for Turkey Day and show me the game he and the grand daughter are playing called “Hell Divers 2”. He was playing Eve online as an omega, but said it got old and stale fast. Not that CCP is going to miss his subscription, I am certain there are more whales on there way to throw away their money.

Have fun!

EVE is dying by a thousand cuts.

Thank you for your detailed answer.

For me as a part-time-gas-huffer, the patch added a cheap step stone with the mining command destroyer. The T1 mining destroyer wasn’t anything that was intended for people like me in the same ways the Venture wasn’t as a frig. We JSpace dwellers using the T2 versions of it and so it was a big buff as the Outrider begins to shine as soon as you can add a Prospect to it.

Also, losing the destroyer might create a 15 to 20 million killmail at the beginning, but over the next few weeks it will go down to less then 10 million and even with the ship skill at max Alpha its better for mining then the Venture.

Sure, you can still use the Venture if you are preparing to lose it, but i guess you can fit the Pioneer in a way that will get it really fast into warp (but then you need to be aware that there are hostiles).
