Why CCP just destroyed mining

Pro’s are scooping out everything right now all belts around Osmon are empty…

Maybe 20 jumps away or 40 Idk what’s going on…. it seems everyone is on a rampage…

I don’t see how Mining has been destroyed…

It seems the exact opposite to me….

There’s not a single Belt left in a 5 system radius…

I haven’t been further yet…

did you not see the new little button next to your ships health bar…? its a little button to the right of it, like an integrated ore scanner. Its litterally a new feature that adds a “quantity” bar that encircles whatever targets you are mining.

Not sure what is in the water for people in here to scream doom and death when CCP sneezes. You need to test drive the car before you can call it a lemon. come back in a month after trying out the features and come with a real analysis based on some real data….

I am curiously (intellectually) aroused by this hidden content

I disagree with you on the Pioneer. I think it fills the hole between venture and barge. Its available to alphas unless im mistaken, adding some more meat to the alpha game.

As someone who multiboxes fleets, i like the idea of taking a handful of these into nullsec or some other risky zone.. Im also interested to see how well it performs vs the prospect.. With less to lose as an established player, this gives me more interest in taking a small fleet where i wouldn’t take anything else.

You could argue that its not as fast.. of course not its not a frigate, but a barge is a hell of a lot slower. There is some wiggle room for speed, but you also have to consider countermeasures like targeting remote dampener and possible cloaking for evasion. Also a general awareness ( d scan etc) of your area goes a long way.

I think the name “destroyer” is off putting since it denotes something more battle related , but i understand why ccp uses it since it is basically part of a naming convention for a certain tier of ship across the eve selection of vessels.

I say give it a chance. cant hurt having another ship selection. as for the other features.. some cool things were added.. im not upset

EvE is a PvP game first. Everything else is flavor and not everyone likes all the flavors.
You got the right idea though if mining now sucks for you, go try something else. There is no wrong way to play the game ( no one need say “unless you’re miner!”)

Pioneer huffs almost as much gas as my Prospect, but is significantly cheaper to lose. Perfect for ninja huffing in wormholes.

Unboosted with no implants, my Prospect pulls 2.6m3/s and the Pioneer pulls 2.4m3/s at Mining Destroyer 4. Pyfa says they’ll have the same gas huffing ability at Mining Destroyer 5.

Yep, Pioneer, Venture and Prospect all have the same gas yield at max ship level.

EVE is PvE first: no mining means no ships, no PvP. PvP is just the spice—and too much spice ruins the dish.

With the new Crit skills, the efficiency gets better on the new ships than Endurer and Prospect,

both Consortium Pioneer and Venture +50% chance seems huge but in practice

you get from 1.3% of non-consortium ships vs a 1.8% crit increase chances.

It seems low but it’s like having a fourth Miner II in the End.

I wish the CI issue had a fourth turret slot or a higher base crit also, but from initial testing,

they are considerably better/faster.

I haven’t tested my Covetor yet.

And I don’t have the skills for a Mackinaw…

I don’t know the situation over there.
Maybe the OP is referring to big Mining OP with loads of Exhumers…

Curious about the impact, but I noticed
no lack of Exhumers fleets under any circumstance..

Here is a bunch of Retriever. The site I was running just now before downtime had 4 Mackinaw, an Orca, and 4 Hulks. It was packed. I took no video capture of it, only my first run.

I still haven’t had time to check out the new pioneer yet. Been too busy elsewhere. Maybe look at it more this weekend. Still it looks like something they came up with to feed the gankers. It appears to be something you can use HS mining, but that is not my style.

I am more irked by the fact, I have no survey scanners for my “non-miner” ships. I used those on Miasmos and other frigates.

Have fun!

That sounds nice actually. Both for mining, and combat target swapping.

No thanks. This game needs fewer mobile features, not more…

It’s not like pushing F1 on the newest target is some major league gaming hyper skill play.

It’s not like EVE needs to be some major league gaming hyper skill game.

Making your own decisions and taking your own actions is a lot better for gameplay than automating the gameplay actions away.

Or would you rather look at a video of a game than play a game? It would explain the popularity of streamers…

Between autopilot, AFK, and everything else, it never ceases to amaze me how many players play this game in order to not play it….

I do think Ishtars need their drones nerfed. An opinion I have received much pushback about.

Also, anyone using autopilot is either flying an empty pod, or wants a fresh lossmail. Which I think would hold true even without the “Land at 10km(?) from target” part.

Mining isn’t destroyed. Every single form of mining still exists. They even added a new one. They move another one.

Mining still exists. Scanning ships still exist. Ships still exist that can warp and scan while cloaked. I have one of them. Find a happy place, launch your drones, cloak, and scan.

There’s nothing wrong with rock scanning. There’s nothing wrong with mining. It’s the same as it used to be. Rock scanning just got a fresh UI; nothing more.

As you can see, I have put an end to mining.

None shall mine!
