CCP Totally Failed it's Hsec players

It is called baptism by fire.

PvP is not fair.

IRL would you say you not playing if two muggers wanted your stuff or would you kick their asses then take their stuff?

Well I mean I’m American so…y’know. :gun: That’s kind of like saying you’re not playing. Kind of.

I agree, I did not join Eve online back in August to become a space miner. Very true. I don’t see myself as stuck being a miner either. Strange enough, I joined Eve because my friend ( I will call him VV ) haul a bunch of gas and his gear out of the wormhole he was living inside and mining gas. This means my first position was space trucker and not a miner. VV got all his stuff out and encouraged me to stick around. “You liked playing Star Trek with me, try this out, it is a better combat sim.” he told me, “You don’t pay cash money for your ships, and when they explode they are just gone. No respawn in this game.”. As you can see I came to Eve online with both eyes wide open. I play to have fun, I can always make the game fun, even when others don’t see it as much fun.

Black Desert is open world PvP, if you go outside the city limits ( just like the stations here) they will kill you and your horse too. The difference is the horse and you will respawn. The horses have a death count, which as far as I can tell, is just a badge of shame. Players in that game also grief on farmers. They will come up to you and insist to duel you for rights to the spot you are farming. Once again this is an open world pvp where people with a tendency to wear the bad guy hat is more preferred. They call it going red as you will get attacked by the town guards when you enter the city. Wise players will avoid the main roads if they plan to ride a horse from place to place.

My friend VV plays some Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Overwatch and a wider variety of PvP games than I do. He has shown me where one of them drops people without weapons and the players who have the weapons already, hunt them, and kill them. There are more PvP games out there that share common traits with this one.

I am not saying Eve is the best or the worst PvP game. All PvP is highly competitive. Competition breeds anger, depression, anxiety, stress, and experiencing all these strong emotions can be harmful to your mental and physical health. We play these competitive games because we like to win. The winners rush, creates a lot of endorphins, adrenaline, and even some dopamine in the player’s system. It is really no wonder people get addicted to gaming and gambling. Best to know when to draw that line in the sand.

Fly safe o7 but most of all, have fun!

Star Trek Online? Has to be the worst spaceship combat sim ever - to fly down, you have to fly on rails in a spiral

Nope. What you are describing is the emotions of a non competitive whinebaby that just got their ass spanked. The gankers though are having a good laugh at whinebaby having tantrum in local.

With rare exceptions, the only people who react this way to competition are children whose minds haven’t fully matured yet, and people who don’t compete.

That’s a pretty batshit take, to be honest.

Genuine question: are you being serious?

If yes, I have a follow up question: are you for the handing out of gold medals to all participants in high school and university and professional sports leagues regardless of performance?

And if no: Why does Eve Online get to be on the “other side” of “the line in the sand” that you arbitrarily declare as being harmful?

Dude what? You know everything you do in life is competition though right? Like, everything. Every job, every boy or girlfriend, every apartment or house you ever live in. You may not like it, but everything is competitive. You have to learn to process the emotions that come with that or you are gonna have just a real rough time.

If the ship you mine in is that easy to kill, you messed up.

And looking at the Z-kill for your character, I see why. You have rechargers fit on previous hulks, then this one was almost hard, but oh. you left 11k EHP on the table that was trivial. Just add a damage control and a CDFE, total cost 1.2m for a t1 rig and t2 DC. I get wanting maximum yield, but if you’re going to fit like that, at least set the new order red and dock up when local spikes with em.

EvE is inherently PVP in pretty much all aspects, so “breaking” suicide gankers who use the intended mechanics as intended seems silly.

That vid……I’d have given a point for that one.

What are the odds? shot there.

Is this new news? Doesn’t everyone already know?

Not really because gankers can’t control a system for very long due to the -10 status and always being able to be attacked. Gankers might clear a system of barges but once their targets don’t reappear in a system, the ganker’s move their hunts someplace else, thus opening the system back up to miners.

Highsec is just so vast to control. The number of belts, combat sites and NPC stations are a great advantage to the high sec miner.

Very true, they are infested with miners requiring pest control.

Don’t forget that gankers are miners too!
