CCP You failed again

CCP had started to work on new servers with another company. They had 2 tests and we havent heard anything about that since then. Personally, I would like a full public report from CCP regarding those tests and the current status of the new servers.

Forget it. That was a PR stunt. You’d have to redesign the game (and I mean the game - not just the code) from scratch to allow for much bigger fights. The simple truth is that N people on grid does not scale with more servers.

The point is so that CCP can keep advertising itself as the “largest single-shard sandbox MMO”. CCP has a lot less concern about the player experience than they do about the bragging rights and records they can rack up by having a massive pile of players pay to sub a bunch of alts so they can participate in stop-motion battles that take forever and accomplish little. Well, little except to set the stage for CCP’s next “largest battle that cost the most $$ losses ever” news blurb.

And as long as folks keep paying for that privilege, CCP will happily keep cashing your checks and patting themselves on the back for the great job they’re doing!

Right. I might be some CCP’s business strategy but I wonder if now they can find more naive players able to lose expensive titans to CCP servers in pointless wars…

Then they should be transparent on what the limits are, if there are indeed hard limits on system capacity. As far as I know there are no such limits disclosed.

Indeed! That is exactly what I was pointed out. At the end players do not know what game they play…

Everyone knows the limitations of the hardware. Its been known for many many years.
That is why Goons formed early, to blob the system to avoid the fight.
Goons knew they would lose and purposely did what they did.
This is a blight on CCPs reputaion for the game with the largest pvp fights.

Again, listening to everyone’s voice on Talking in Stations deflate once they realized what the goons intentions were, truly sad.

Honestly, this should be the copypasta post for all the high salt topics, lol

Excellent, you can give me an exact number then, and for which nodes do this number apply?

No I think you are wrong, some new players might be unsure of the capabilities of the game but anyone playing for more than 6 months will be pretty clued up on the fact that the game will always struggle with the crazy amount of numbers these null sec blobs put in systems. The game struggles because it pushes players towards forming huge powerblocs and when ever CCP gets the servers in a state where they can handle the next big fight the blobs decide to bring even more until the servers cant cope then they cry about it. If instead of having 1 5k vs 5k fight you had 10 500 vs 500 fights or 5 1k vs 1k fights you would still have awesome large scale fights and much better content but you would all rather cram in to one system then wonder why the game cant handle the load.

To be fair its not the players fault, its just human nature but CCP has pushed the game towards blobs and huge powerblocs so until they change that we will always stay in this cycle.

The n+1 problem can be solved relatively easily, like it is done in almost every known MMOs. Just introduce the max number of supported connected players in a system (like it’s done for WOW BG, whatever). EVE servers can normally handle max 4000 connected players per system currently. Crystal clear rule for everybody. Of course, how the system will be populated and what other players should do is another question. It requires a completely new game mechanic. The simplest idea, in my opinion, the fight should happen over Constellation. It should be something similar to chess or minesweeper games just on macro levels. But it’s not doable currently due to lack of FCs, micro and macro management abilities. So, this way nobody will be able to exploit the current mechanic. The current blob concept is pointless and not working.

The people involved and calling the shots all know the limitations and one side was banking on those limitations, like they did before.

I think now this cycle has closed. Such wars/battles are not possible due to hardware limitations which are probably not fixable.

CCP don’t give a ■■■■ about any of us, all they care about is getting everyone to buy another plex or skill injector.

There isn’t the hardware to do these large fights properly, this isn’t a ccp not buying the servers issue.
Stop being weak minded.

LoL. What about the case when your Titan jumped in M2 without rigs and modules loaded and even without pilot implant bonuses, while the pilots remained in TS session. The greatest cheating in gaming history.

I cant see the hardware ever being able to handle the numbers Goon and enemies are currently capable of putting out currently but it is still capable of handling largish scale fights, what we need is CCP to try and find away to break up the huge blocs that are currently in game. Look at the situation currently, PHorde are over in delve helping test killing goons all the way across the map from their home space, but their space is completely safe even though they are at the other side of the galaxy as no other alliances could possible do any harm to it as they could be back defending it in no time at all. When EvE was much younger to go fight on the opposite side of the map took planning and time to move and if you wasn’t careful if you left you home space vulnerable it could be in danger, nowadays its nothing as EvE has become so small and the force projection for these huge powerblocs is just way too big.

That is the reason I stopped playing EVE last summer. I knew this war would end either without any big fight or with big shitfest like that…

You can do a lot of other things in this game. Until, of course, you absolutely don’t care about spaceships theme.

If I see some stupid ■■■■ about EvE players forming 10k people and breaks a new record from CCP I’mma lose my ■■■■. This was honestly pretty embarrassing, server crashing might have been better.
