I bet you have a case under Texas Law. ![]()
Well, that’s questionable as well…
3 minutes default cycle time?
In my case, I was doing them in null, and OP’s arguments still stand.
Drop rate on the keys really looks like a mistake, not a feature. The extreme randomness of extra loot even if you use the key means that there is a high chance you’ll get less with a key than if you’re just lucky without a key. The only reasonable thing to do with the keys is sell them and let others deal with it.
It’s even worse in null, specifically for mining sites. The drops are next to nothing, so there is no incentive to form a fleet and do them. So what people do is do them solo, if everything else is currently unavailable or you are doing them with a mining alt. Since you are mostly alone in them, 90% of the players will go with an Endurance…. And then someone had a bright idea of warping in belt rats into the sites… where you can’t enter with anything useful to kill them. I guess the idea was to use exhumers, but only multiboxers can use them effectively. Most of the times you’re alone in the site… with a single exhumer… warp scrambling rats with battleships… gangs of up to 10 people can filament in at any moment…. Yeah… not going to happen… simply not worth the ISK or the effort.
But, I’m long enough in this game to stop caring about it. Just look at it as another useless set of features. Finish the chores to get the final reward, if you want to, and move on. The only traces of real game design are Sleeper Caches, but considering the rest of the sites and events boil down to “here’s a beacon, try not to get ganked/try to gank”, I think that whoever designed Sleeper Caches must be viewed in CCP’s office as weirdos that wear shoes on their heads.
I recently returned to eve after a long break and invested heavily to have a marauder ready for this event. A little forewarning would of been nice because I would of had a Rattlesnake ready instead… now I have an amazing Golem I can’t use and a Praxis which was all I could afford after finding out when the event started that I couldn’t use my Golem.
and clicking on the crate shows: “Contains a Perseverance blueprint copy.”
Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out they aren’t going to give you a BPO for a faction ship….
Participation in Events is optional, nobody is forcing you to do it…
Personally I like it because it breaks up the monotony of normal daily gameplay sessions..
I especially like the added content of hunting down the Yoiul Lads, very cool game play aspect similar to the eggs in Guristas Hunt… The keys opening up extra Event content is cool, basically it’s a surprise gift…
As for the rewards, Events are not intended to make players become multi trillionaire’s overnight… Events are intended to be a fun experience doing different activities that you normally wouldn’t do in regular game play sessions…
Personally I’m glad CCP implements free Event content for the players to engage with… Granted they do have some bugs that need to be fixed but overall the entire aspect of it is fine… My main gripe about Events is the large amount of Agency points needed to complete it…
You say you completed the Event within 4 to 6 hrs… Well I don’t believe that one bit… If it is true then that’s your problem, you rushed through it without taking the time to actually enjoy the scenery or associated Lore… Seems to me you’re just an ‘instant-gratification’ player who is only looking for easy gameplay with big rewards…
I rarely ever say this but sorry cupcake, Eve Online may not be the game for you..
It’s fine that you don’t like the Event, that’s your prerogative… Now if it doesn’t pertain to buggy content, then I’m sure most Community members, especially me, myself and I, don’t want to hear your bellyaching about it…

No that was bad too, they shouldn’t have introduced mining ships between the endurance and the barges. So basically everything they did sucked. It seems that if they have something good, their instinct is to mess things up.
Rather too late. You’ve done the thing before you can see that. As for the faction thing, as a relatively new player a BP is a BP is a BP. I don’t think I’ve even seen a faction BP. I’m not expecting CCP to start replacing BPC’s with BPO’s, however, it was some really sloppy and misleading language on their part. It’s my view that this a borderline scam, because what was said on the crate at the end of the progress-bar for nexus was manifestly NOT what was actually in it. Piss-poor basically.
Leave it to a new player to whine about getting free stuff…

Personally I like it because it breaks up the monotony of running an event that feels unnecessarily punishing and unfun..
I especially liked describing how the LADs could be an awesome addition to the event if like ~70% of them weren’t empty… Very cool of me to write down in the first paragraph how this event has some good ideas that are just implemented poorly, and people like you then just not bothering to read my statements, but instead re-iterating my points without seeing the issue…
As for the rewards, Events are not intended to make players become multi trillionaire’s overnight… Events are intended to be a fun experience doing different activities that you normally wouldn’t do in regular game play sessions… basically it’s a surprise gift to read these opinions…
As for the discussion about rewards, multiple people, including me, have already stated in this thread it’s not about becoming a null trillionaire… it’s about NOT feeling punished for doing something that is supposed to be a special, end-of-the-year event… Events are intended to be a fun experience doing different activites that you would normally do in regular game play sessions, NOT a gated grindfest that is in every way less rewarding than most regular activities…
Personally I’m glad CCP implements free Event content for the players to engage with… Granted they do have some bugs that need to be fixed but overall the entire aspect of it is fine… My main gripe about Events is the large amount of Agency points needed to complete it…
Personally I’m glad that as a paying customer I have the right AND the integrity to criticize the company I am the customer of… Instead of whatever it is you’re doing… Also, the “large amount of event points” is literally faster to complete than any other year or any other event this year…
You say you completed the Event within 4 to 6 hrs… Well I don’t believe that one bit… If it is true then that’s your problem, you rushed through it without taking the time to actually enjoy the scenery or associated Lore… Seems to me you’re just an ‘instant-gratification’ player who is only looking for easy gameplay with big rewards…
No, I said I completed the event within 5-6 hours, maybe 7 at best. You are free to believe whatever you want, but it doesn’t take a long time to do these in a ship that does ~900-1000 dps when there aren’t even that many people running them… Seems to me you are just an ‘instant gratification’ -commenter, who doesn’t even read what other people say and is just looking to score high on the “brown nose points”…
I rarely ever say this but sorry cupcake, Eve Online may not be the game for you..

I rarely say this but sorry cupcake, using your brain to engage in valid criticism may not be the game for you…

Game time in EVE isn’t free, and I’m not a new player.
Oh wow, mimic much…
I read the replies in this thread and quite frankly, a few new alts, one with no portrait, doesn’t represent a majority of players…
Since there’s not much competition where you’re at, then spend a day killing Yoiul Lads and collect up a bunch of keys…
But hey, go ahead and cry more about how you can’t farm the event and quickly min-max the sites for instant-gratification due to event bonus keys being high priced on the Market…

Wow, such poignant analysis. I guess newer players or people with alts aren’t entitled to good content or even an opinion. Only the opinion of the elite DeMichael Crimson matters.
Since there’s not much competition where you’re at, then spend a day killing Yoiul Lads and collect up a bunch of keys…
Why would anyone do that when they could be doing pretty much anything else? I did it for a few hours just to see how that part of the event is, and sold most of my keys instead of using them, because that’s literally better isk than the rest of the event.
I’m now back doing more fun and more lucrative activities, such as crabbing, fleeting up with friends, small gang pvp, stealing ESS’s and skyhooks, doing L4’s, flipping stuff on market and contracts, doing industry and so on…
But hey, go ahead and cry more about how you can’t farm the event and quickly min-max the sites for instant-gratification due to event bonus keys being high priced on the Market…
It’s nice how multiple people have iterated multiple times on this thread how isk/h isn’t the biggest issue of the event, yet the only “argument” you seem to be able to make is “you’re just looking for instant gratification, instead of enjoying this mind numbingly boring event where you get to run around chasing empty ships and doing extremely simplified, recycled event sites with rewards that can’t even compete with L4 missions”.
Why is it that people like you always get so offended about others trying to make things BETTER for you? Tell me, what is it about me wanting the event to be more fun that is hurting your enjoyment so much? Why are you on the forums crying about other people “crying” instead of enjoying this event, if it’s so great?
edit: nevermind. Looked you up in game. A dude who has sat in an NPC corp for 6381 days probably isn’t the best source when it comes to having an opinion about fun.
you’re just looking for instant gratification

This thread made the whole event worth it.
With redeemed regards

Where can I redeem said regards? Are they in one of the various redeem queues that CCP shoves into these events to get dopamine responses from people?
I need my dopamine fix BAD as I’m apparently just looking for instant gratification!

Just gonna argue this point for a bit.
I think it’s a good ship. It’s an interesting idea. The bonuses to crit really start to stack up, and as all crits give free ice spawned out of thin air, you’re stretching the ice field further with every crit.
Theoretically, with maxed out Rorq boosts, well rolled abyssal miners and only Perseverances on grid you might get as much as 50-60% more ice from an ice field. The yield/second isn’t even close to an exhumer, but it might be close to a well fitted T1 barge, and much more efficient at that.
Is the ship worth the price I sold it at? Hell no. But it’s probably worth a good 30-40 mil at least.
But everything you said regarding the event I agree with. Exact same experience for me too. And yes, I did try it both in hisec and null.
Last years there was significantly more PLEX in the daily logins than there is for this year.
That’s about all the difference I can discern.
The BPC at the end - couldn’t be bothered grafting through all the other stuff to get to it
