CCPlease do something about the 1mil sp spammers

Watch how just a single one of these adverts crushes the conversation.

To be fair, everyone is free to leave that corporation.

My concern is more about new players seeing it, and uninstalling the game. That level of spam is unacceptable.

Sadly, in this room full of CCP apologists that’s never visited by CCP devs except to shill monetization schemes, your simple concern falls on deaf ears.

Mr Epeen :sunglasses:

We heard you didnt like spam so we changed the settings window

Blocking people is inefficient. Give me the ability to block a phrase or word and rather than blocking the word, block any chat message that contains it.

I nominate “Hypernet” for the first one I would block.

I’m not concerned about new players at all. They need to sink or swim, and if they can’t figure out how to leave an NPC corp, I don’t think they will last long anyways. Also, a lot of players rely on this “spam” to earn rewards and plex their accounts, so removing this will remove an income source.

How are things in SAK chat right now?

Just like this:

And ol’ Gustav here is just one of seven characters attached to that same link in SAK.

And now all the usually well behaved regular recruiters are spamming like mofos due to the new 100% tolerance policy from the GMs.

Madness. Noobs will bail in their first few minutes in the game. Ironic considering what this program was supposed to do.

Mr Epeen :sunglasses:

You can just block them, so if it’s bothering you, maybe that’s because you want to be triggered? Aren’t you a little old for that corp anyway?

Can you show us on the doll where Mr Epeen touched you?

Mr Epeen :sunglasses:

You wish.

I only have two questions.

How long has the spamming been going on?
How many times has CCP made its position clear on spamming?
What has been done about spamming so far?
Is the problem solved?
Why not?

Fixt.

They are good questions. Some can be answered with facts, others with suppositions.

So I can’t count, you got me lol

Not critiquing or anything but almost all I read on this forum are suppositions except for hands-on play. That’s why I want to know CCP’s position on some questions and issues raised in this, their forum. Otherwise a lot of threads here are simply superfluous, even some of the ones in Q & A.

@Aisha_Katalen Figured…

It’s quite obvious you don’t care about the new players or the state of the game.

Especially since it seems like you’re part of the problem. How many bots do you have spamming links I wonder?

You can’t prove that I’m not doing it manually (which is allowed).

You’re, right I can’t, however that was a weird almost admission of guilt.

Regardless, your spam is toxic and is likely keeping the game from growing. At the very least it’s killing social interaction in those chat channels (as was shown above.)

Those aren’t real corporations, so who cares?

I have about a dozen accounts going, in the major hubs and in the most populated starter/career agent systems.

But I’m NOT cheating. I’m not using a software bot to do it, even though I could easily program one for it. What I use is a few of these:

I have them attached to my keyboard, and they press Alt, Tab, Ctrl, V, and Enter keys at set intervals. Because there’s no software automation, and all the keys are pressed physically one at a time, this is completely allowed and perfectly within the rules.

My main accounts were subbed until 2037 last time I checked.
