CCPlease Spin my ship

I want to spin my ship, CCP. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room since probably 2009. Why did I wait years listening to CCP suggest Walking in Stations, just to get it taken away in less time than it took to make it happen? I want to walk in my Captain’s Quarters again. CCPlease.

no.. that had nothing to do with EVE, and it doesn’t need to be brought back for maybe now the 1% of players who would use it…

hint, less than 3% used it when CCP scrapped it.

We can talk about bringing back WiS once someone comes up with a gameplay loop that makes sense for EVE. (I suspect that FC may someday leverage all the tech they’ve built for Vanguard, whether or not that game ever launches and/or succeeds).

That said, CQ as it existed was pointless, and there’s no sense bringing it back.

Arguing like that when CCP botched and sabotaged the feature from the start and never expanded upon it, breaking a promise made at fanfest, is so in-character for you.

This crappy capital hangar is a plight for real. You cannot click ANYWHERE without the camera having a seizure and uncontrollably move around. It’s so bad it’s hilarious again.

But to be real: If you want to have WIS, you better leave EVE behind and go to SC. They have amazing walking in stations and they are just as much a scam-scheme as EVE is.

How about a beat’em’up, Punching in Stations. Some kinda bar brawl simulator, that sounds like New Eden.

So does Elite: Dangerous, and their game is actually released and doesn’t sell .jpg’s.

I’m down for that. Actually sounds like fun.

While I agree it does sound fun, EVE has enough problems not to warrant the time spent on such a project that so few would use. I would still have preferred Dust to at least get consoles into the game.

A whopping 3% of players made use of the Captain’s Quarters…

And of that 3%, 99.5% would try it once and never use it again…

you know I have heard what people have for typical replies for years but the idea of just simply a couch to sit on and using simply the code that already exists? Why take away the feature?

It was horrible code, to be quite honest. The CQ had terrible performance, increased the loading time after docking considerably and was a massive power hog. Plus, CCP had no idea how their own code worked only a few years after its introduction.

From that perspective, it was good that they discontinued this trainwreck.

However, I think it is incredibly disingenuous to say people didn’t use the feature and that’s why it’s good its gone. People would have loved to use it if it was better, held up to the promises and stoked expectations and was actually expanded upon. People simply did not use the CQ much because it was horribly poorly implemented and a far cry from what it was supposed to be. That’s a completely different reason for the underusage than what Geo and other disingenuous people yap about all the time.

I remember how awful it was just to move your character around the room. It was painstakingly laborious.

The later iteration of the rooms did look nice though. All the hud items on the big screen wouldve been nice if it had been more improved upon.

What do you mean by “don’t bring it back”? It’s still in the game. You can still spin XL ships in Jita 4/4

you clearly didn’t read any post in reference to what i was talking about.. which was the walking in stations/cq … things hardly anybody used.

Also while sitting inside a station hanger, it would be nice to be able to see underneath my ship

Walking in stations was removed. You can still spin XL ships in some stations.
