Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

I will take blapping a half bill in recons over getting chased off with nothing by 12 supers.

…then do it again in the next system.

This is going to be great.

You have been quitting for about 9 that I can remember…

How do you think skillfarmers get the PLEX to run their accounts on? How does that PLEX come into the game do you think?

The price of 500 PLEX is more than the price of a month’s subscription, so people who PLEX their accounts (however they get the ISK to buy it off the in-game market) are actually encouraging more money to be handed over to CCP.

If PLEX prices keep dropping the skill farms go away.

One thought i had, which I have posted elsewhere. It would affect small and large groups equally.
A local chat beacon, that when online allows local to be restored in that system. It would cost LO to fuel, have similar reinforcement to a cyno jammer.
Once online it would restore local BUT would disable all Jump Drives and Cyno’s in and out of the system - it would require 1 hour to online and 1 hour to manually offline (to stop just putting it offline when enemies arrive in). * By manually “offline” I mean someone has to sit next to it while it offlines.,.
Even when online and enemy can still light a cyno to drop on you - Risk is still real and unless they are next door - No super umbrella for protection.

Just a rough idea but i think better than what we have had shoved down our throats

Jump Fatigue is MUCH BETTER than it was. It used to be something like a WEEK to get your blue timer down.

Olmeca loves it. Watch the Talking in station of friday last week. Olmeca was a guest there and has been asked if he is happy. At friday there is a meeting between CSM and CCP. Olmecas answer to the question was: On a scale from 1 to 10 he is 12 in happiness. He loves that change.
I aggree that Recons could use a buff, but that change not just buffs the recons, it´s nerfs the whole capital warfare, isk production and mining.
The impact of that change will be so hugh that the shake up in eve will have a negative effect on the economy and the play style of half of new eden. There is no reason to get into capitals after that. They have been nerfed since years to a point that they do not make sense anymore. The only advantage they had is gone. If you own one you can’t use it anymore without a recon on grid.
The bigger players, who are rich, will be able to adapt to this. If you have 5 Alts, you now can mine with 4 plus one recon on grid. That doesn’t have an impact on them that is hugh enough. But for those players who want to build up wealth have a hugh problem now. You need to get into 1 cap plus 1 recon. It´s questionable if that makes sense, when you go for 2 Dominix or Myrmidons for ratting instead of one carrier and 1 recon. Considering, that you make 30m per Myrmidon per hour and 60m per Carrier per hour, the answer to that is: a Myrmidon is replaced way faster and easier than a Carrier. A fully fitted carrier costs about 1.5 to 2 b isk, besides the skills you need to train and buy. A Myrmidon costs what? 100m? 150m? Fully fitted. You will be able to amortize a Myrmidon within 4-5 hours of gameplay, while you need 33 hours for the carrier. You can be really sure that within that 33h of gameplay you will be caught and killed, so the carrier is a risk sink. The possibility of getting caught and killed in a myrmidon within 5 hours is way less.
You love the change? I don’t. It destroys nearly all PVE Capitals, even the PVP content with Caps will be less. Why would you buy and use one if you can´t replace it easily?

Bee Swarm simulator ( on robolx ) like living in delve, but without spaceships.

I tried Space Engineers. A FPS where you build spaceships. With no asset safety or timers.

Also Rust, which is like Eve but with no spaceships, no asset safety and no timers. And on a planet. and a FPS.

Consider also that super hunting groups on /r were the ones responsible for the tether changes, they now seem wholly unnecessary since nobody is going to want hunt in a non-cloaky nully or chain a covert cyno off a bomber to a blops, just to cyno in a cap fleet.

RIP solo dread dropping, unless you want to start the fight minus 300m.

Not much effect, they have the numbers to probably park alts in improved cloak fit recon’s off anything they need, though I hope they do so CCP force mutual exclusivity of cyno’s and non-covert cloaks.

Its not like they will be doing themselves much of a favour otherwise? I mean seriously, we are a long way from the point at where joining a corporation “doesn’t matter”. If a new person wants to succeed or have fun they better join the big groups or they will get crapped on one way or another.

This change is a scam.
And beacause it’s a scam i will react with all thing i have on my hand to answer to the scam (include asking reimburssement of all remaning sub time the day of you’re change).
You ask people to have 2 account to make what they was doing with 1 on the past.
You change rule to force they to buy you’re product to have SP in time for play.

Big group could adap not the problem.
Problem is the way you take. I see 3 option:
-You know you fail PA objective, so some CCP employee start to active play in eve and ■■■■ the game to make the game they want for they’re playstile, they know the game is over soon for they.

  • You try to sink eve beacause you are unhappy of PA (or if you sink eve PA bring you on more exiting project).
  • You hope people ill buy a shions of plex with RL money and buy a lot of sub for nex account to increase you’re cash before deadline for PA money bonus for sell of CCP.

Agreed, the last big change was bad enough, this one is just… wow.

Expect to see a lot more covert cyno prospects. Lets see if they go to the extreme of bridging in a brick tank blobs fit with a regular cyno to call down the caps of doom though. Could be for some expensive losses.

so you removed my thread because of violating the TOS? xD
I can accept that even thought that blocking out info about the competitor will not make the competitor disapear my friends  (@ccp).
I know why you did all the ani cap changes in the last few month but you will piss of people and before people are actually sinking real money into plex (the way you would like it to go) they will most likly close down their accounts.
Your ship type balancing is really really bad. If you don’t want cap ships to be endgame content anymore than just remove the from the game entirly.
Ah yeah btw (little tip) the power block will most likly adept to your shenanigans. As usual you will hit the small null sec crews which will either move to high sec or will stop playing it.
A perfect example of awesome balancing is the covert ops class especially the bombers. Massiv dps output, using a mechanic which does not have a counter mechanic (cloak) and is cheap as hell xD.
New endgame ships will be cov op bomber stop skilling for caps guys

Yeah that but i was talking about existing groups who can no longer operate in nul joining the Blocs - Many small/er groups will merge into the Blocs just to be able to play the game.
This is by far the worst outcome for the game as a whole and CCP is actually using new mechanics to push this and force small/er groups into either leaving nul or join a Bloc.

I don’t see the loss of jump drives as being relevant, and who’s to say who an ‘enemy’ is? That nuance will get abused for sure.

How to kill a Rorq with this update:

Be in bombers bar fleet and drop a cyno inhib. Hope that no recon gets there within 1 minute. If it does, just kill it and wait out the 5 minute panic timer (which CCP will probably reduce to 1 minute soon)

Like no alliance in Eve (apart from goons) will be able to subcap out form a bb fleet within 5 minutes and then get to the rorq.

No one in their right mind will field a rorq after this update. No one will ever make back their investment.

I see CCP have a hard on for isk sinks but have you ever looked at a real economy? Austerity kills moral and unfortunately for you CCP, this is only a game so people can just leave.

Such change will barely touch capital drop threat (umbrella= “zontik”) in lowsec from bigger communities (like Sholupen, Snuffbox etc…) because price tag is not an issue in this case.
On the other hand, moving ma peaceful “suitcase” Moros across will be much more risky and expensive than before (price of cynoship plus time of training an alt).
So, it would be nice if CCP will elaborate this upcoming change a little bit.

Thank you!

P.S.: also, don’t forget that there are some ‘first-aid’ solutions requiring little or no coding regarding capital omnipotence in lowsec already announced (Cyno Inhibitor buff):
