Regardless if it helps, maybe it’s time that CCP automates it as part of DT updates.
I have done that and it hasn’t solved the problem
I think it’s a coincidence that local is working again after you’re verifying/clearing your cache. I logged in and chat and local both worked for me without doing anything at all. All the people who were going through the lengthy process during the time it started working again might come to the wrong conclusion.
BUT it could be different. People who have played in the last days might have problematic data in their caches. Data I’m not having in mine, because I haven’t logged into the game in the last days. Then it might be the case that verifying/deleting your cache might help, but that’s - of course - an unknown.
This is getting more complicated than it needs to be.

Doesn’t matter, it’s still a good idea to clear all cache files and verify integrity of all downloaded files.
Also I had twice checked all 4 of my accounts before doing that and no chat channels were working, now all chat channels are working.
that defeats the entire purpose of a cache.

How so, verifying just checks if the cache does not contain invalid issues. It does NOT re-download the cache or clear it.
unfortunately relogging does not help. one char in Jita has blank local, for other chars local does not not change after using jumpgates, I still see “local” from 3 systems away. corp chat works just partially. sitting on a citadel does not show all guests correctly (have 2 chars on it and see only one of them while see both of them in local).
if u run logserver , you may see that the client actually deleting some old files from cache itself
All chat channels working then losing connection and reconnecting etc, but it still is showing the same toon in 2 different systems even after relog etc, now i have been disconnected!!!
