Maybe the people who wrote them and whose words are in these texts are Drifters or Sleepers. “Gleaned Correspondents” could indicate that they do not share, or have not always shared, all the same ideas while the words said in “Gleaned Directive” could be the center of their ideology. Perhaps they tried to reorganize during or after the fall of the Second Empire while they were still in Anoikis and that Vigilant Tyrannos, or at least the ideological faction or sub-faction the Drifters come from or were part of during this era, is the group that ended up being the most powerful and influential among the Sleepers of Anoikis.
Has it ever been properly established whether the Drifters are unable to communicate, or are unwilling to communicate ?
Not conclusively, and my probably-foolhardy attempt to dock at a Hive was based on the idea that they’d stopped communicating because they lost Hilen Tukoss. They did communicate with us through him while they had him.
But, in principle, communication’s not all that hard. You start with a communications laser or similar and start by talking mathematics, then move on to other topics from there. Between universal translators and the sheer processing power of computers on either side, I’d expect it to take like three minutes at the outside (though the computers would then have to teach us, which might take longer) unless there’s something very strange going on that, like, prevents 1 + 1 from equaling 2.
Much more likely, they see us as beneath even making the attempt for.
Hilen Tukoss, right. That was the Drifters then was it ? That was using Tukoss’s personality to communicate on the IGS ?
As I remember it, I expressed significant doubt and caution about doing what it requested (supplying Jovian body parts of all things), but capsuleers being capsuleers disregarded my suggestion.
So, they see us as beneath their concern, eh ? Well, time to apply the knowledge paradigms from Synthia’s Ant Wars. Except this time, we’re on the side of the ants. Organise, Synergise, Overcome.
It seems that they are unwilling to communicate with us, my theory is that they hate and despise the people of New Eden, this might explain why they are so ruthless towards us. Maybe they want to do to all of New Eden what some did to them.
The Drifters seems to be awakened Sleepers and many capsuleers as well as the empires and the Sisters of EVE have colonized their systems, fought to keep control of them, destroyed their drones and outposts and used their technology for their own agenda. Some even claim that capsuleers going to Anoikis to retrieve Sleeper technology and attack their outposts are participating in a genocide against them. Some Drifter attacks happened shortly after the revelation of the creation of the entosis link and Alpha clones from their technology by the way which in my opinion makes this theory credible.
And about when they were pretending to be Tukoss, I think if they had had Jovian body parts to begin with then they wouldn’t have tried to contact us at all.
The Drifters have stopped their attacks, at least for now. According to my sources, no Vigilant Dreamers have been pinpointed or destroyed.
Confirming Tadadan appears clear.
No Sleeper fleets, no artificial space-weather, no luckless monks getting tortured to death by remote.
Doesn’t feel at all like an end, though, more like they’ve got their proof-of-concept and are gearing up for the next steps.
There is a second wave of drones but the SoCT and the empires are doing some good progress to push them back.
“Spectral Vision Capture” have been recovered from Deepflow rifts
Here is an analysis: “This data capture, emitting faint traces of blackbody radiation, contains an image intercepted from an advanced virtuality. The scenarios it simulates are so detailed that only half of the image could be captured.”
“α Spectral Vision Capture”
“γ Spectral Vision Capture”
“β Spectral Vision Capture”
The five small circles at the bottom right of the γ one reminds me of the now destroyed “urchins” of the Drifter nexuses. In my opinion, the Drifters are trying to rebuild them to use them during this crisis.
A document containing data of discovered spectral vision captures that will probably be updated often.
I also saw a theory that image β would represent a Gallente city and would therefore be proof that the Drifters wants to bomb cities from space.
β does show a skyscraper broadcasting the Federation’s eagle crest. The architecture’s also recognizably theirs. The marks lower-left could at a glance show plans or proposals for hit-and-run attacks on targets.
The Drifters are pretty well suited to attacks of that type, favoring a pretty large number of “glass cannon” units.
γ displays a very-highsec Gallentean regional stargate, moving from … 1.0 on the near side to 0.9 on the far? Expect someone will be able to figure out exactly which. I agree that the five “urchins” could very well indicate the five hive nexuses.
α is a little obscure … it appears to be an attack on something. Structures are angular. Center circle could be … a plaza or something? Open ground. Or something else entirely. It looks kind of familiar but I can’t think from where. The symbol’s a nasty one-- a thorned vine superimposed over a chain? I don’t get the sense that it means “breaking chains.” It more smacks of capture and torment.
It seems that α actually shows Matar’s Great Caravanserai.
Maybe they want to do like the assassination of Jamyl I but with the tribal council or Shakor, maybe they plan to do the same with the other leaders of the empires or cluster’s major factions. Or maybe they plan to destroy the political headquarters of the empires and cluster’s major factions or their capital, or bomb their capital planet.
Noticing the gate shows the destination from and to Amarr space (which is weird as the gate is of Gallente architecture). The traffic and the capsuleer activity are low, and another detail is there aren’t gates which indicates two security system levels, only the destination one.
Could it show a reduced security level due to corruption or something? They do seem to have it in for the Deathless
Yeah but how can you explain a Gallente jump gate in Amarr territory?
They do share a border. I’ll have to go poke around at some point and see if there’s any real-world location that might be a match.
Unless it’s just an impossible gate because what it displays doesn’t make sense. (Though that could just mean that the Drifters don’t fully understand them in that kind of detail?)
You’d have to check the gate architecture in each system, but there are interfaces between Gallente and Amarr gate systems around Genesis, particularly around the Sanctum constellation, which as you’ll know, is CONCORD sovereignty, rather than Amarr.
And CONCORD’s logo is ofc the 5pointed star. And those 5 symbols in that image do have faint lines making a vaguely star shape between them.
So, I’d suspect something close to Yulai maybe.
I just thought of a theory: what if the scrutinizers were indeed some sort of transneural burning scanner used to analyze the inhabitants of the empires while the “detailed simulations” the Drifters want to make of them will be used in the simulations representing the Gallente city, the Great Caravanserai, the gate and other probably targeted locations?
The thing that troubles me the most, is the Gamma vision of the 5 circles with what looks similar to the configuration of the Drifter Hive Nexus when we initially dove in after the Caroline Star incident.
