Sorry to burst your bubble, but @Rocket_Hellfire is only trying some vague ag virtue signalling. If he had 10b to spare he would list a couple of fun prize categories instead of listing restrictions. At the end of the competition if you try to hold him to his word he is going to go all gamma soy boy on reasons why he doesn’t have to pay out.

Really Goons 10 whole billion in prizes?
What are you making out there in delve per hour?

Do you need to be overly cheap to pinch out another titan?

Dang! It sucks to be AG… What do I do now? What do I do? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Obviously you are quite familiar with the weasel ways of ag. My post was as much intended as a warning for the enthusiastic EVE player who might find it fun to join the competition (on either side) and might get duped.

And if you ever get tired of team toxic, you can always join the fun with the CODE. agents. I’m sure they will happily make a place for you in their fleets.

Thanks, but I’ll pass. I didn’t realize I would have to join a cult to participate. If you were truly against miners you would include ALL ganks regardless of which corporation they belong.

-1 for a poor attempt at a recruitment thread.

You said it all xD

Sorry tater-nuts, we only want serious heroes willing to sacrifice and fight the bot menace and enforce the Code for James 315.

Judging by your killboard I don’t think you have what it takes.

Maybe you can find a place in anti-ganking?

Haha, I’m not sure that’s accurate nor that the ways of ganking are any better in that regard, but my reply to your post wasn’t intended as dismissive if that’s how it came through.

And no, I can’t imagine myself turning to the dark side, but thanks for the offers I keep getting.

It’s mostly cause your one of four antigankers we ever see anymore.

Though someone who DOES something has more in common with us than the 148 other afk antigankers in your channel.

Do you ever get tired of defending the criminally afk?

I know for a fact that we get more apprecation from the miners we save from boredom.

I also know we’re having a lot more fun doing it too!

Praise James! \o/

Are there 148 anti-gankers in that channel? You sure?

Not only do I enjoy roleplaying as a criminal hunter, but figuring fits and tactics to save the victims (or “steal” the loot if they die) is challenging and fun, indeed.

And I don’t care if they’re afk, btw. I don’t see a problem with that, as long as they don’t whine and cry when they’re ganked.

Not sure what you mean… more appreciation than I get for saving them?

Not that I care, mind you, but many miners I save have no clue what happened to them, why they survived, or what was I doing there. They often even think I’m part of the gang that tried to kill them…

Sure you don’t believe most miners appreciate being ganked, do you? I mean, nothing wrong with ganking them (just like I don’t see anything wrong with them being afk), but sure you cannot pretend most of them are appreciative of that…

Now, that’s intriguing… How can you know you have a lot more fun ganking than I have anti-ganking? I can’t imagine myself having more fun ganking…

I see how you could have more fun ganking now than you had anti-ganking in the past, if you did it wrong or for the wrong reasons back then, but that’s you, not everybody else, maybe some, maybe most even, but certainly not me

The problem I have with CODE is not that they kill AFK Miners, it’s that they are so unfriendly about it. The Permit and Protection Money racket was the wrong way to go. If I pay for a permit, I have a big ugly stamp in my Bio instead of what I would have liked to say about my Char, and then, if I don’t o7 right away, I am killed anyway. It was an a**hole implementation of a good idea.

AFK Miners are a problem, but the way it should have been handled was this:

Offer an o7, get one back, say “Thank you for being at your keyboard. CODE appreciates you doing your part to keep the game and the economy viable”…See, friendly. Builds goodwill

No o7 back, they get a warning email explaining why AFKing is bad for the game and they go on a list. Next time, no o7, light 'em up and keep lighting them up until they start o7. If they are actually AFK, you have all the time in the world to check a spreadsheet database for the number of times they have offended. At some point CODE just became ‘kill miners’ instead of ‘kill AFK miners’.

That’s how I would have implemented it. But, I guess we are going to double down on this wrongheaded-ness.

Never pay protection money…pain is temporary, but pride lasts forever. CODE has taken 4 of my ships across multiple Chars, every time I was at the keyboard and trying to get into warp, so I guess that just makes them a**holes.

Pride goeth before the fall:

http://www.deadlysins.com/pride/

Hubris has been the downfall of many a person, and so pride is not considered a virtue by most philosophers. Perhaps you should reconsider your wicked ways and get square with the people responsible for managing highsec, the New Order of Highsec. 10M ISK is chump change and will put you on the right side of history.

I’d also suggest you re-read the Code. It doesn’t just prohibit AFK mining, but all sorts of non-compliant miscreant behaviour designed to make highsec a better place and improve the general calibre of miners such as yourself. It’s perfectly natural that you would be exploded for taking @James_315’s ore without his permission or having a valid mining indulgence.

I see you guys finally are able to use up some of the isk those bot’s are making you.

I say its about the only activity i can do because of a shotty 3rd world african internet connection that cost way to much to use. by peak hours on eve, people at my internet company go home and you can no longer connect to the net.

or even when the net is blazing at a solid 10kb/s, data stream just stops despite having a connection to the servers at the company.

Not to mention the frequent power outages that can last from 5 mins to majority of the day.

Mining is far more forgiving on a disconnect under either of the 2 topics of loosing a connection.

ive lost connection for 7 hours leaving my paladin in Sansha The blockade for 7 hours finally get back on and its still taking damage and tanking just fine.

I cant do anything that requires comms because neither side can be understood. nor can i do abyssals because a dc would be instant death.

so my options are station trading (just being near jita can sent the internet into seizures) research and industry im currently doing invention, PI doesnt pull much in empire.

so if you have suggestions other than dont play, lets hear them. My average internet is around 1kb/s to 10kb/s and by afternoon it drops below 1kb/s, internet shuts off around Isha between 1900-2000. lets see some brain storming.

Meh…if it said “One lucky participant will be ganked by James315 himself.” I’d go for it.

You see… That’s where you guys failed. To praise a single man , put him above the ideals… that attracts shitty people who you must know much. If code was based on a real purpose of controlling hisec, actually fight for the territory, instead of just gank newbies with shitty fits, and claim to be mighty warriors of hisec… much more people would join that, there would be no thread on forums talking bad stuff about code. All you do is James that James this… I wonder if you all get laid with James’ #@##$ also…
