Except that it’s not against the rules in hisec, the crimewatch rules that apply specifically to hisec simply impose a cost on it, Concord being the agents of that cost.
Ganking, including suicide ganking, is a legitimate playstyle within Eve and allowed by the rules. As far as I’m concerned a playstyle allowed by the rules, both mechanical and EULA is by definition not illegal, any playstyle that breaks either is illegal.
TL:DR legal and illegal are not really the words to be using in the context of a virtual universe where the only illegal acts get you banned.

its part of the game. PVP is an integral part of the game.
People who say things like this don’t understand the rules of this game they play.
What would we need a pretext for? How would RPing help? Nothing about this makes any sense.
In the beginning the permit served as a pretext to allow for bumping. Ganking requires no pretext and RPing has nothing to do with any of that.
It’s like how people still think blowing up empty frieghters is against the EULA. Some gankers even think that. Ridiculous.
File a petition, escalate it, ask a senior GM, do whatever you gotta do, but you’re totally wrong and you clearly don’t understand what is and isn’t allowed in this game.

I never claimed that ganking breaks any EULAs. You can shoot people everywhere in this game, outside ABYSS of course (for now) and outside stations.
Well alright then. I can admit that ganking is its own reward, though the reasons given in the Code for why one should kill carbears are still valid.

Well, thats just a way to play EVE.
A ex-corpmember was playing EVE in a RP way he was thinking about, containing to just fly ships he made by himself, with minerals he was mining by himself etc. RP is a valid way to create your own enviroment within the EVE universe.
And the RP part is something I realy like, because it brings some variety to the game. Some of the most passioned EVE players i met where playing this game with a little RP background and those were players from different aspects of the game, such as miners, pirates, hauler, indus and even ganker wich believe in the CODE “law”.
I mean, instead of whining about a group of gankers, creating their own “law” or “religion”, we should be happy that there are people who play EVE like an RPG (and yeah EVE is an MMORPG) , beacuse this kind of players make EVE special and keep it alive.

Of course, RPing can be a way to enjoy the game too. Even only with a chat thats possible.
