Few more days remaining.
Completely irrelevant. What I wrote applies regardless.
Of course, I didnt argue about chances being minimal, because you can still gank, even with minimal chances.
But as you can see, there are people hunting ventures.
Exactly. Buying replacement ships is part of a miner’s balance, still can be ISK positive unless they constantly mine AFK and lose a lot of ships, though even then they should be able to come off ISK positive but if they do that they do it wrong anyway and have no right to complain. The game is meant to be played, not AFK farmed, and if someone pays attention they will rarely lose a ship (and even if that rarely means still losing a few in a row still they should be way beyond ISK positive) thus they make good profit (in terms of Venture mining). So still no issue unless someone wants stuff for free AFK a.k.a. without effort.
This I will disagree. Age (really, SP) means something - it is why SP and Skill Injectors are so highly valued an item. Kinda the whole point of a persistent MMO is to accumulate power and advantage and progress your characters abilities.
But yes, so do many other things, most of which can and will trump age/SP, with your friends being the most important, but the list also includes things like game knowledge, ship match-up, pure guile and so forth. Unlike many other games, a new player can join up with other players, new or established, and quickly have the advantage over, and beat, even 15-year veterans.
But saying SP means nothing is a little disingenuous. It definitely influences your earning potential and thus limits what you can field, and can be the deciding factor in a fight, especially as you go down in fleet size being most impactful for 1v1 ‘gudfights’.
Best way to deal with a salvoshed thread is not to quote, reply or even acknowledge. Then when ten posts pop up with the same stats, forum mods can then take action.
So basically don’t feed the
?
I chose to pilot an Orca as well at first.
Why ? Because of my lack of knowledge about EvE.
I though that it would bring me more ISKies.
A tengu would give me more iskies with 10/10 DEDs…
At the end of the day, most people die because of the poor choices they made…
Like that Alessienne guy on reddit that rage quit and biomassed because he couldn’t understand that lowsec is full of people wanting to kill…
To understand that you have to go back to certain game changes, at one point certain players had an easy way to get content against people who were mining, it was called can flipping, so they would flip the can and the miner would not think about it and flip it back giving them an easy kill as the miner would go suspect to them allowing them to murder them. They had a lot of fun doing it. Also those players had found a number of very interesting loopholes in the old crimewatch system and used and abused them.
Then CCP adjusted crimewatch to make it better as in more robust and easier to understand. These players had lost the easy kill mechanism called can flipping because now they go suspect to everyone. And that means it is dead to them, they act as if they cannot do it any more, in fact they could.
James315 was very upset with this and got together with a number of other players with the objective of punishing CCP by going after casual players in hisec, most notably the newer players, the 2018 Venture killing example is most evident here. The GM at the time advised them to create a role playing concept which is what the CODE is. As CCP has decided to allow them to go after the casual player base one can say that CODE’s feeble cries of one more nerf after any balance change is really kin of meh!
When CCP buffed the DPS of destroyers they created a massive imbalance, which CODE exploited massively to attack the casual miners in hisec, the attrition of casual hisec indy players was truly incredible, however it was masked by new blood due to certain big battles. But eventually CCP realised after many hisec players of one to five years standing walked away and correctly balanced the mining ships. But Alpha’s are kinda stuck with Ventures, but they don’t cost anything so, no real issue to be honest.
CODE was then given a massive gift by the GM’s allowing hyperdunking this was the ability to bump a freighter until the guy logged then aggro him and then sit there with an Orca or bowhead disgorging DPS ships to gank the freighter until the freighter was dead. The impact was significant. CCP in the end adjusted the timer to stop this. Prior to this they had ganked freighters at a low level, but that was increasing just as the GM made that gift.
However they had a taste for the riches and refined their approach with very scientific fleet ganks made easy with bumping which is an act of aggression that is ignored by CONCORD. The issue is of course that you cannot make bumping an act of aggression or a criminal act because many people bump when exiting stations and it would be abused like hell.
Anyway the gankers evolved a very effective way to kill freighters, using the bump to hold the target until they can get enough characters in the right ship to blow it up. They make a lot of ISK out of this, truly huge amounts, but they have a burn out of many bumpers because at the end of the day it is easy money. Some gankers will run off and do something else, but when they need ISK will come back to bump and gank. As I said these players make a huge profit and they will do anything they can to protect that ISK fountain and any question on the mechanics is dealt with by painting the person who asked about the validity of the game play as wanting to end ganking in hisec.
And that is CODE. They have a number of people who aggressively post on the Eve forums, insulting anyone who has a different concept of game balance to them. You can see that by the number of times Ima Wreckyou goes after Salvos for example.
The amount of ISK involved is huge and there is a level of player attrition from their activities, plus at the end of the day there is no real cost effective counter to the bumper apart from chosing not to play their game which means do not use a freighter.
You get this pap.
But the question is how to you deal with a bumper sitting at zero on the gate waiting for a freighter to jump in? Actually the right choice is do not use a freighter, Orca or Bowhead to move stuff if you have to go through Niarja and Uedama. Do not do courier contracts. And you will be fine.
I actually looked at the Goons killaboard once without freighters and other transport ships on it and their efficiency was actually 42%, which was laughable, because many of the CODE gankers have characters in Miniluv which is the hisec arm of the Goons. Of course CODE lurkers on the forums downplay this. They also follow a blue list of Imperium freighters, and I would advise you to look for afk freighters moving through those choke points which are not hassled by CODE at all. Seeing is believing, and CODE will say nope not true.
Anyway, hisec is not a good place to be in, leave it and have fun in nullsec, it is much much better.
PS Ganking is part of the game, however there is an issue with bumping, so as I say there is an issue with bumping I am tarred with wanting to end ganking in hisec, they are not the same thing. Just take note of the people saying that, it is always the same people…
PPS - They will deny the blue list completely, but as I said go and sit in the two choke point systems and watch for AFK (auto-piloting) freighters full of stuff which do not get bumped, go and check it out. And note how quickly they tried to gainsay it:
The speed of that reply says everything…
PPPS And the normal lame replies to boot:
Reading and comprehension skills are perhaps lacking here, but never mind…
And doubling down, to suggest I use bullet points when I am explaining a story if you like:
As if I give a damn mate, if you are unable to comprehend paragraphs then I pity you
This is classic deflection techniques by CODE aligned players, and is so lame and obvious…
Code is -5 to the imperium. There are no blue freighters.
Tl;Dr?
That is a blatant lie. You let swarms of autopiloting Charons, who are flown by alts BASTN, who is part of CFC, pass by your Machariel without even starting to move and despite them carrying more than 1B cargo fully expandered. You also let a swarm of Providences/Obelisks pass by your Machariel on a regular basis, who are also part of the CFC. You also let a swarm of Arks pass by your Machariel on a regular basis, who are also part of the CFC, and who regularly loot ganked freighters for you and other bumpers.
Please, Siegmund, put more effort into trying to appear disingenuous.
Learn to make what normal people call bullet points
That way people can quickly have an overview of what’s being talked about. And it won’t waste people’s time either.
Oh and,
You’re not making a great first impression with that statement either…
So spot on, here we have a player who has observed the same thing that I have, now ladies and gentlemen, please take time to go check out the truth of what I said and then you will know just what CODE is all about…
Oh look another off topic troll post to deflect away and try to appear smart. Amusing isn’t it…
And I was wondering when we would get a doll comment, but he used a picture instead, lame is lame… @Nanako_Chosokabe
Sure, and Goons are reptilians.
No? Check for yourself
https://standings.goonfleet.com/
Standings are meaningless. Your actions count. And they speak for themselves.
The Goons are always under war decs, they use out of alliance freighters, your standings mean nothing, and is merely a deflection and not a very good one at that.
