CODE: From the Perspective of a Non-Miner

That is not what I would call griefing as they sound like legit kills.

Right, but to that person, I was still griefing. That’s why I’m saying that the concept of griefing needs a very clear definition to work, and can’t have someone’s misery as the sole qualifier.

With regard to new players, I believe that the rule is that any player in starter/career agent systems, who is under 30 days old, and is in an NPC corporation, is to be left alone unless they initiate a confrontation.

I seem to have missed that part

im a non miner and i have a perspective about the code
the code is awesome , its emergent gameplay
and because of the big bunch of cry babies CCP is implementing stupid NPCs to do the same job

Maybe they are implementing stupid NPCs because CODE sucks at it’s job :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

CCP’s biggest mistake was the faction police. Otherwise, players would be able to have their revenge against gankers.

Actually, that’s at least half true.

Most people who post with opinions on ganking et cetera don’t realize just how many semi-AFK, PvE-farming, brainlet carebears there are in high-sec. Space is absolutely teeming with masses of them. There are literally tens of thousands of those players eating asteroids and grinding missions every day. I see many gankers playing downright inhuman amounts of hours, and they still can’t keep up with plethora of targets. Despite thousands of kills every week, and many of those victims leaving the game, the replacement rate is so high that targets never run out.

The specific reason why we got those “stupid NPCs” likely has to deal with wars, however. By changing war eligibility mechanics, CCP has made large chunks of the high-sec player base immune to wars. (while still enjoying full benefits provided by the structures that determine war eligibility). It’s not that CODE. is doing a bad job (they’re working overtime), it’s just that they can’t keep up with the workload.

The people claiming that nonconsensual PvP in high-sec is destroying the game’s population can’t seem to comprehend the fact that said PvP doesn’t keep up with EVE’s turnover rate. There’s just so many carebears that, well, you have to experience it to truly understand what’s going on in the game.

Afk miners are not bots, fact that some peeps forget. I have nothing against Carebears per se. If you wanna leave your ship in space unattended (personally consider it foolish), shouldn’t cry about it when it splodes.

Virtually all of them would choose to bot if it were allowed by CCP.

If they are not boting I have no problem with them.
Never understood the whole point of it, yeah grinding isk I get it, but to what end, not like bots are actually playing the game…

And that is why you do not understand CODE.

I don’t think they are hard to understand. I simply have no respect for them.

I know. You are completely wrong about them, but you are so sure of yourself that all you can hear is your own voice talking on-and-on.

Yes, yes… teach me oh wise one
I am sure of my self though… my great flaw :innocent:
But it is nice how you just know I am wrong without even knowing my opinion, wish I had that superpower.

Do you think your opinion was not expressed in your numerous posts above?

Not all of it, and not the point.
You just said I am wrong in a quite condescending manner, without pointing out where am I wrong.
You know constructive criticism and all that…

It seems quite clear that you are not a listener. You are trying to hold some sort of debate about how worthless the Code players are. Meh.

Nope, that is not what I’m trying at all, and again nothing to back up your claim…
I listen quite well, you’re not giving me anything to listen to, 'cept some thinly veiled insults, that is.

You don’t have to respect CODE., or like them, or think they should exist. You just have to understand that they have the right to exist, and that they’re not griefing anyone (with a very small margin of error due to the entropy inherent to all PvP-related activities).

Many uninformed players (not saying you) are under the impression that what CODE. does is actually against the game’s rules. I’d guess that CCP sees at least a few such petitions every day, and sometimes maybe even dozens.

I just want CCP to love me.
