Color distinction and customization

Hi everyone, I want to share some ideas about customizing the Neocom icons and also the marketplace. To start, I have over the years playing eve made an effort to always read carefully costs in the marketplace and the all the “commas” with each item to know if it was 9 billion, or 900 million, cause that can be a HUGE mistake when selling or buying.

I have suggested in the past to colour code each tier of 1000’s say 1,000 would show up gray, 100,000 would be green, and 100,000,000 would show up blue and so forth. This would give visually and must more distinct, and very clear idea of the real cost of what you are looking at.

Now the Neocom Icons is very similar. I would like to have an option in the settings to select a different colour of each icon. Bland colour of all grey or white makes it very difficult to see each icon especially with large resolutions. We have colour coded tabs in the overview, I would like to see that with Neocom icons. Be creative make it colourful and visually appealing, and less eye strain!

Not a fan of the first option the ability to make mistakes because you’re careless is a huge part of eve and market pvp is just as valid a form of any other. Imagine if ccp had gate icons change color based on how many ships were on grid on the other side.

Comparing with colour coding gates is not what I am talking about nor would I suggest a game breaking idea. When you have numbers in the billions, plus a list of 20 or 30 other sellers beside that on top of your list it makes for a eye straining read and risk of making stupid errors. I already have adjusted my font settings and UI size to make it already better. And newer programs such as notepad ++ and other programming tools have introduced different colour options and themes to reduce eye fatigue and strain for those who work tirelessly hours and hours on screen. As well in other MMO’s from Korea and parts of Asia they already have this implemented, colour coded prices based on value.

My point is making mistakes is a good thing and it is very much just as much pvp as s gate camp

You already get a color coded inductor based on the current average of whatever you’re buying and selling.

I really like the white Neocom icons, but it doesn’t seem unreasonable to be able to shade these the same as any theme.

Being able to set individual (theme) colors for thousands, millions, billions (etc.) as part of theme isn’t a bad idea, either.

Didn’t we have colored icons on the Neocom a decade ago?

Also, I am not a fan of the color coding the ISK amounts.

But I am a fan of fixing the money displays that were shrunk to only show about 1 to 10 million – contracts UI, as some of us tend to deal with much larger values.
