It seems to me that all forms of communication coming from players who aren’t corp/alliance/fleetmates or blues is either to grief or to spam some nonsense.
An option to block all communication from these non-friendlies would increase player experience with no downside.
For that you’d need to be able to see who’s who in the first place. Since this is, however, toxic and damaging to the discourse, CCP and Discourse, the platform, made it so that this vital information is not available and obscured.
Either require a CSPA charge or Block unknown characters which results in nobody being able to contact you unless they are on your contacts list with any standings level (positive or negative) if this is EVEmail related.
However this might also have side effects (see below thread) so do your research regarding the details.
But if the potential drawbacks are no issue for you then this might work.
Not sure if there is a way to do this in chat though.
I don’t really see the point in blocking all those people.
We’re playing an MMO for the interaction right?
I’m chatting all the time here on the forums with many people I have no blue standings with. And I do the same in the game with rookies in rookie help or just with random people I see in local. Sure, I talk with allies too, but even though I have plenty of allies the game population is much larger.
I would not want there to be an easy option for players to block all non-blue chat.
It deteriorates the game for every player who would check such a box.
