I’ve been trying to contact old acquaintances from the game for three months now, to find out who’s playing and who’s not, and I’m having no luck. Previously, you could send someone a fleet invite and it would be clear whether they were in the game or not. Now that’s irrelevant, the SSP removed it. WHY??? How can I now find out if someone is playing or not? How can I find out if a trader who’s in a Jeet is in the game or not? Now I can’t even figure out who’s playing among my acquaintances. Why was this done?
At first, I couldn’t figure it out, but after three months, I noticed that some neutrals were arriving and simply logging out of the system; they weren’t leaving through filaments, but were logging out. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to this, because I simply don’t see the point of throwing a fleet to check if a certain person is logged out, as it won’t make much of a difference. Three Zincs are already logged out, filaments are falling on their heads, and the number of WXs opening is simply horrendous. Closing them is practically pointless, since another one opens in its place, and do you think a logged out character can do anything??? Are you serious? What kind of nonsense is this? Using watchlists—you add someone, and they add you—is inconvenient and just plain stupid. So, explain how the inability to determine whether a person is in the game or not can help. It doesn’t help players; it only hinders communication and searching, but…
If we assume that the SSP intends to introduce AI bots into the game, or, judging by everything, they already are, and they need to somehow hide these bots, I can only see this blocking of communication between players for this purpose. Someone will write, “Now you can log in and out” - it won’t work. It worked before Filaments, but now it’s pointless. Determining who’s logging in from enemies and who isn’t is also not an option.
And fleet interaction? Did you consider that I’m sending a fleet, but the person isn’t in the game. I try to contact them, but it turns out they’ve been kicked out, and the game continues. How do I deal with this? Sometimes I’m jumping into Rogue mode and my overtime freezes, so I relogin and send a fleet, but it turns out I sent it to God knows where and to God knows who, because I haven’t logged in yet. Then I relogin to fully load and send a fleet. I’m speechless. This curtailment of player communication and fleet interaction, or have the game become so small that you’re trying to hide it with such methods. Let me repeat: WHY ARE YOU INTERFERING WITH COMMUNICATION BETWEEN PLAYERS AND FINDING OLD FRIENDS???
You answered your own question: Because you could abuse it to find out if someone was online or not. Fleet invites are not supposed to be a free intel tool.
Send your old friends an eve-mail, then if they’re ever online and interested they can respond.
Fleet invites were abused as an intel tool to check if any character, friend or foe, is online.
It was about time CCP (or ‘FC’) removed this exploit.
Awww, someone’s butt hurt they can’t stalk people now. If they’re your “aquaintances” or “friends” and you “know them”, then you should have no problem sending them a mail or chat request.
Many people want to set up a planetarium and post prices on the market, rather than read emails; they don’t have the time. So this option is simply not suitable.
If your friends won’t even respond to your eve mail, are they really friends?

I myself read my email very rarely, like many others.
What nonsense are you all talking about? Anyone who crabs or does PVP immediately creates a fleet for themselves so that they don’t lose their fleet at an important moment and don’t distract them.
Everyone flies in fleets now. I’ve been caught out a lot with anomalies, and you know how funny it was when I throw a fleet to a player, they accidentally accept it, and I take it and warp the fleet to them.
Now, to determine if someone’s in the game, you have to throw a fleet. If they’re not in the fleet, they’re not in the game. And for those who like to logoff, it’s the same story: throw a fleet. If they’re not in the fleet, they’re not in the game. And if there’s no filament route, it means they’ve logged off. Can you find out what changed? Is it PVP or PVE?
lol
lmao even
There is such a thing as general meaning, you look at it and don’t bother with words
My guy, half of that doesnt make any sense
Communicate.
Besides an eve-mail you could also open a chat with them. If they don’t talk back they’re not online or not interested.
If they’re your friends and interested they will respond.
If they’re your enemies it’s good that you now no longer are able to stalk when they’re online by exploiting fleet invites.
Quite the opposite: if my enemies aren’t in the fleet now, it means they’re not online. Because my enemies only fly with the fleet.
Any PVP pilot, even a single one, creates a fleet for himself or is in one, it is more convenient and practical,
2 In any online game, you can see who is playing and how many people are playing, but hiding information about players only gives rise to suspicions that there are far fewer players in the game than is shown
Uh huh. Cool story, bruh.
Hey mate! You can add these players to your buddy list in game by right clicking and adding them as a contact. If they mutually add you to their buddy list, you both will be able to see when one another is online through the Contacts page.
Hope that helps you communicate with your friends better ![]()
