I wish I had any suggestions beyond donating it to Mike’s Magic School Bus program. It’s really hard finding actual deserving players - because everyone has become uber-paranoid about, well… everyone. You needn’t look any further than most of the Freelance projects for an example…

@Swing_Vote1 You can always contract it to me, I do need it.

I guess you could always do a Freelance project for NPC kills in high-sec, not pay out a lot in rewards and the player with the highest contribution after a week wins? (haven’t really looked at this in great detail to see if there’s something I’ve missed)

Why not to the person that kills the most (capsuleer) mining ships in lowsec?

:innocent:

maybe a price for some kind of mini games in Eve Forum..

You could find a mission runner streamer allso and give it them, but make sure to say its not for a give away .
If it was me id use it on my HS runner, but its still training Marauder lvl5.
You could give it to some random pve*er you spot either in local or check killboards, but those that can fly it prolly have theisk to buy it allready.
Who ever ends up with it i wish them many great runs with it.

Sidenote: checkout their security rating allso.
And dont give out the name of who ends up with it.

I think this would be a good method. Except a couple modifications: Set up Freelances in several areas for NPC kills, Mining, etc. Make the rewards decent enough to attract newer players, but not so much for veterans. Any players who spend a significant amount of time Freelance mining or shooting are probably your targets as stated in the OP.

The other route worth trying: Ask questions in Help chat (Main or Rookie) with phrasing like ā€œcould someone who does a lot of mining in high sec tell me how I should do X or Y?ā€. Or ā€œI’d like some advice on mission runners about which L3 missions I can run in an Algosā€ or something like that.

Do that at various times of day and you’ll be able to build a small list of people who are knowledgeable enough about those areas to indicate they do them a lot. Or just watch chat in general to spot those types.

First method will tilt you towards players trying to get a good start. Second method will tilt you towards players who spend time helping or advising others.

If neither of those suit, go learn how EVE Pandora works and set up some campaigns to identify the kinds of players you want. Although then you’re limited to players who also use EVE Pandora.

Do you think anyone will be talking about freelance projects a couple month from now?

Don’t fly anything you can’t replace. I guarantee that if you’re giving this to someone, he can’t afford to replace it. These ships lost a lot of their defense which means they’re pretty much glass cannons now. The Kronos used to be a great brawler, but now it’s pretty fragile especially since it’s best at close range.

My Kronos just sits on a shelf these days. It’s really not worth flying anymore. L4 mission rewards are subpar.

Here’s mine just for fun

Time will tell :timer_clock:

Without a massive overhaul (depth and scope), no. CCP is now on summer holidays do I don’t know how much they’ll actually have a chance to work on.

Students are off starting the first week of June and don’t return until the last week of August, so most of CCP probably follows suit.

Oh. Sorry. It’s my darn helpful nature mucking things up again. You were bragging about how spacerich you were, but said you couldn’t get to your EvE atm. Silly me, trying to help.

Since microwarpdrives bloom signature %400-%500 (depending on blinginess), yeah I’ll bet that makes a brawler have a rough time of it!

The MWD only comes on when I’m running away. And that’s only AFTER the MJD gives me a 100KM head start. It’s all about knowing how to play.

Besides, don’t you know that Marauders fight stationary?

j/k, don’t get your hackles up. Stationary brawler tactics are too advanced for me.

Hi @Swing_Vote1,

It’s a very generous thought to give away a fitted Kronos to a PvE pilot. You’ve asked for advice on how to do this without attracting negative attention, and it’s a valid concern given the nature of EVE Online and forum dynamics.

While your intentions may be good, your plan leaves one questioning intent with the simple realities that an experienced player in the game should be aware of:

  • No Control Over Post-Transfer Use: Once you give a ship to another player, it becomes entirely their property. There is absolutely no in-game mechanism or enforcement to dictate how they use it. They are free to use it for PvE, PvP, ganking, sell it for ISK, or do anything else they choose. Your desire for it to only be used by a ā€œhigh-sec miner, mission runner, or a dedicated PvE pilotā€ cannot be guaranteed or enforced.

  • Public Giveaways and Account History: Initiating a highly public giveaway, especially from an account that has a history of attracting significant negative attention or controversy on the forums, inherently increases the risk of attracting individuals looking to exploit the situation (scammers, gankers looking for easy targets, or those seeking to cause drama) rather than genuine, appreciative PvE pilots. If controlling the ship’s end-use is a strong priority, a public forum giveaway, particularly under these circumstances, might not be the most effective or advisable method.

In closing, if your goal is to truely help someone, not a publicity stunt, then either give it away in a controlled enviroment where abuse of the gift has consquences (ie, corp/alliance) or do it privately without a big forum presence.

I have, with thanks, accepted the contract of the ship and now I will work on finding a good way to pass it along. Thank you @Swing_Vote1 and people who supported me to be the one to get it.
