After 15 years of Eve I’ve decided to retire permanently. I’m turning 68 this month and just don’t have the time anymore. I’ve amassed about 100 bil in ships and “stuff” and rather than see it sit in the Eve ether forever after I go, I want to just give it all away. Yes this is really one of those “can I has yer stuff” deals. Any ideas on the best way to do it? My way isn’t working. I tried giving away a bling(4bil isk) Paladin in Dodixie local with no takers. Not a one. So give me some ideas and maybe you might benefit from some of my generosity. Thanks Eve! o/
Hello and sorry to see you go. Donate it to Absolute Order they recruit new players and help them get started among other things so the assets will be put to good use. Good luck in your future endeavors.
Disclaimer: i am currently a member of Absolute Order
You can consider donating it to:
Also you can anchor containers in hisec space at obvious locations like stargates, stars, etc. and put a bunch of stuff in them and not have the items locked so people can take them.
To make sure you can post a list of the containers and their locations or which system they are in to r/Eve and these forums so people will look after them.
Even if you leave they will stay there for at least 29 days so people will have plenty of time to find them.
(Not that they can not be scanned down so must be at locations people can warp to without scanning.)
Once, when I thought I was leaving permanently, I bought a bunch of expensive ships in Jita, then one by one, undocked from station, ejected from ship, and left it out there for anyone to pick up. I didn’t announce it in local. I just left each ship sitting outside Jita 4-4.
That’s also a good option. And if OP wants to make it more mysterious he can eject them at safe spots so people have to scan them down. He can also put expensive stuff in their cargo holds and they will stay there for the same 29 days like anchored containers do.
Just make sure to let people know about it so they actively seek to find and scan for them.
Yes I did this with my first give away. I abandoned a Mackinaw and 5 mins later got a kill mail on it. Thanks for the idea. o/
I will send to Princess if Frostpacker was leaving
Who’s Princess?
Your Princess !
Our Princess!
Contract all of your goods to @Aiko_Danuja as she helps pilots like us.
If you’re serious then I suggest wait until she responds before sending to anyone.
There is no rush and even though you are finding a limit in time.
There can be your health and wellness to be first priority to always come first.
I would suggest to give it to someone, or a group, that actively helps others or creates content for EVE. So perhaps find a streamer you really like and give it all to them, so they can either use it for content or raffle it away to others. Perhaps there’s a website or tool that you really like and have been using all this time, find the owner(s) and give it to them.
How can you not have time an 68 year old should be retired, are you one of those that say i dont know how i had time to work types? stay and play, or itf its your eyesight thats failing feel free to give it away. If i would recieve i would inject a bit of skills and maybe get a roqual. anyways have fun with life ( whats left) as more behind than ahead just like me :).
fly… or more like shuffle safe.
Respect for 15 years in New Eden! That’s an incredible journey, and it’s rare to see someone looking to give back to the community on their way out. o7
If local giveaways aren’t working, you might have better luck with:
-
Newbro Support – Find a new player struggling to get started and set them up with some ISK, ships, or skill injectors to make their journey smoother.
-
PvP Fund – Drop ISK or ships to a small gang PvP group and tell them to cause as much chaos as possible in your honour.
-
Random Contract Drops – Quietly contract items to random players and let them be surprised when they log in.
-
A Corp or Alliance That Meant Something to You – If you had a corp or alliance that helped you along the way, paying it forward to their new generation of pilots could be a great send-off.
Whatever you decide, enjoy retirement and fly safe… or should I say, dock up forever. o7
I’d go with Uriel’s and Aisha’s ideas: Operation Magic School Bus is definitely a win-win for donations, and as Aisha said supporting players or groups who support EVE is another win-win.
Mike’s Magic Bus, EVE University, Youtubers, people who run 3rd party services or website resources that you feel are worthy, in-game groups who help bring new players into the game, all of these can use your stuff. I often turn excess ‘stuff’ into ISK and then donate it to some player or group who’s doing something interesting.
In the past I’ve also donated ISK to EVE Pandora for them to set up player campaigns with (although they actually prefer players to do those themselves).
Of course check in with anybody you think of first, to make sure they’re available to accept contracts etc.
Best of luck with your next hobby!
You could private contract it to me. A boring way and i am none of things the other posters mentioned. I’ll use it to run lvl 2 distribution missions that may or may not promote the community(?)
+1 for Magic School Bus.
And thanks for 15 years!
I support this.
I am poor but dont want or expect anything from you or anybody. Just sad to see another old timer leave the game. 52yrs old here and if i get 15yrs out of the game i would be ecstatic. Hats off to you my friend and may rl be kind to and your new adventures.

15 years? And you are still as clueless as a first day noob?
If you don’t know who’s who after fifteen years in the game, who might “benefit from your generosity”, then just burn it all.
I will say one thing though. Absolute Order are one of the worst NPC corp chat spammers in the game right now. Might as well hand it all out to HyperNet spammers.
