I don’t play a lot of games, but the first decade of Eve was still constant growth, then CCP made decisions that made it into near constant loss. Eve’s player loss is not an effect of time.
1 decade = more players.
2 decades = 2 * more players. Unless something was done to change what happens over time.
doesn’t mean ■■■■.
how many have passed away?
how many are old and decrepit?
how many just got bored of doing everything there is to do in EVE?
how many just wanted to win?
the problem is, the new batch of players coming into EVE and quickly leaving is due to the short attention span and self gratification that mobile games or WOW or similar games gives them, while EVE does not.. EVE will never have the numbers of WoW or Diablo etc.
Likely most in the first decade than in the second, since there there we double as many people.

Very very rare to hear that as a reason for quitting.
Fozzie Sov, Jump Fatique, not wanting to associated with CCPs marketing strategies, constant harm to high sec to force people to null. P2W. Are reasons I remember hearing.

Hard Eve did it even less than dead Eve does now. We have instant gratification P2W and many other things that didn’t use to be here.
Enjoy the game as it is then. Im just not going to sub to that game, cause its just not what I want to do. I’d like to be able to opt in and out of fighting zones.
Well CCP cant make a game just for me, but what I think would be the best solution is, that you have to go mine some stuff in lowsec, and thus you can opt in and out of dangerous zones. So for example last I played (before I quit when ganked) you had to go to lowsec to do some reactions and mine some specific ore. Then you went and had fun with that, I kinda liked that - but sometimes its just a long day at work, kids are yelling and are put to sleep. I honestly just want to sit and mine a bit, manage some planets and trading, plan how to build a specific ship etc.
I’d just like the option to do that. And if its not in EVE thats happen - its fine - im not subbed. Just had the interest to check out EVE again.
Thanks but not going to play on mobile. Also - I dont want to opt out of PVP, I like it to a certain extent - just want some zones (like any other game) where you can focus on other parts of the game.
well every 30 days create a new character… the starting systems (rookie) is the only place you can play without consequences.. after 30 days you’re on your own in the wide open areas of New Eden
Not what im looking for but appreciate the suggestion i suppose. What I want is that CCP fixes what I assume is a problem for thousands of people that help a few bitter veterans that want some free fun - aka ganking in a twisted setting
