Why wouldn’t it be ? Risk is most of the fun in EVE. Undocking and never really knowing if your ship will ever dock again is what EVE is all about !
Seems like you haven’t played since before bumping mechanics were changed. There is a three minute timer now.
This is from EVE Uni’s wiki:
The goal of bumping is to delay a slowly-aligning ship from entering warp (though after 3 minutes of attempting to align, the ship will automatically jump. This timer can be reset by any effect that disrupts the ability to warp - i.e. scrams and bubbles). They can also, together with webs, delay a ship which is trying to burn back to a gate after jumping into a gatecamp.

I realize you don’t like how the game is structured currently, but like some others, I do.
The threat of violence in Highsec is, in my opinion, one of the psychological knives that keeps the economy workable/stable. Without that threat, I agree bots and rampant afk isk making would ruin it.
Sometimes I feel EVE Echoes and it’s no pvp Highsec was CCP’s attempt to answer this “EVE” old question: Would no pvp in Highsec work in EVE?
From looking at Echoes, apparently not.
Let me just stop you right there.
I have looked up your killboard. As far back as the records possibly go, you have been hanging around in nullsec. And the losses you accumulated there are staggering. You lost multiple Rorquals, a Nyx, and virtually every other of your ships exclusively in the nullsec region.
Your losses in high sec are peanuts in comparison, except for that one time you lost your jump freighter. The killreport on this one loss only shows 2 people attacking you, dealing the full healthpool of your freighter in damage. In other words, you did something that made you a legal target, and that’s not the fault of high sec ganking.
Where I want to go with this is, that your complaints about high sec ganking are dishonest. To summarize, the vast majority of your losses are in null sec, and I mean you welped capital class ships, that’s really expensive / valueable equipment. What you lost in high sec is peanuts or completely avoidable in comparison. Why is it then, that you go on about lecturing the forum users how EVE would be so much better if high sec ganking wouldn’t exist???
And equally as irritating is your statement, that you’d love to play the game, but can’t, because of high sec ganking. It irritates me, because according to your record, you are not even active in the high sec region! The only time you interact with high sec is when you, once in every blue moon, ship something over there.
If you don’t want to play the game then please don’t make up any weird excuses.
With safe regards
-James Fuchs
TBF, if those kills were done prior to 2009, they most likely weren’t his/hers….. the character in question was transferred twice in 2009… March and November.
While there probably are some bots mining in High Sec, that is not where the majority are.
It’s just not fair.
EvE should be pay to win!
EVE should be perma death. If your ship explodes you lose everything with a pop-up message [ Nice Try ] You wake up as a Rookie in a Corvette with 500k SP and 500k isk.
“Seems like you haven’t played since before bumping mechanics were changed. There is a three minute timer now.”
This is really really nice I think - so really glad to hear it! You have no idea how many times i’ve watched my freighter get bumped to infinity - its such a waste of time
Glad to hear it - I do disagree with this idea that there would be more bots if HS ganking was removed. Thats not the case, the bots right now just fly bad mining ships that dont get ganked. I think its because you guys dont mine in HS that you dont really get how many people quits because of it, cause it is just what you would call griefing in any other game
Yea also the bots are not the ones getting ganked in highsec lets be honest. They mine in cheap strong ships that actual players dont want to fly.
This is my orca account and obviously I have other accounts so you dont see the kills on this one, because the orca dosent get shot.
”Where I want to go with this is, that your complaints about high sec ganking are dishonest.”
This is such a great example of going for the player instead of the ball - listen why would I sit here and be dishonest? To troll you with opinions on highsec ganking? Yea thats my goal - thats why I logged into the forum of a game im not playing and asked a question… you got me……………..
People that dont feel like you do - do exist - there is no motivation to go on here and ask these questions for “the fun of it”. So believe what you want - but I like the game - I wish I could play it, but highsec ganking ruins that for me. Its just how it is, if you want to believe im being dishonest or are taking money from Putin to attack something you like then thats your choice. I just dont get how some people have to psycho-analyse you as some evil person because you dont like HS ganking.
Sorry man many people hate it and quit because of it - thats a total fact.
Also with regards to null sec - yea i’ve been part of a lot of nullsec - but I have kids now, I want to play but I just dont have time to be around nullsec - I just like the game, I like sci fi fantasy and so on - but it cant be in null anymore. But yea… I had a lot of experience in nullsec for sure. But I still want to play in highsec now and people i play with quit or I do when you get ganked, at least if it happens too often. Which has done for me - thus im asking the question - is it still a thing.
I think that’s the consensus, yes.
Damn you got me ……….. you figured out my secret. It was not about HS ganking at any point it was just to lie and decieve you all…………… but you were too smart and figured out my bad motives.
So you are taking money from Putin
That’s despicable.
I think we’ve all seen this troll before. “Hi everybody, I’m an experienced nullsec pilot, but all I want to do is relax and mine in Highsec. Unfortunately, I can’t because of Aiko Danuja. She just RUINS the game for me. So I will go to the forums and cry endlessly, pretending that anybody cares or should care.”
If you are serious, I think EvE is the wrong game for you. I recommend a relaxing turnbased game without PvP. I asked ChatGPT to recommend such a game, and it suggests Farmville 2: Country Escape! My mom plays that. If you create your account now you can claim today’s daily reward, it’s a nice starter shovel.
Sounds lovely. I’ll try it tomorrow. Thanks, @Aiko_Danuja !
One thing i’d love you guys to do is to take a moment and reflect on how many people have quit the game due to HS-ganking.
You most likely havent tried it, but its really frustraighting to lose your ship in such a way, since you are not part of taking any risk in null or low, there just is a small percentage chance that you lose all your stuff. Its not fun.
All I want you to do is reflect on it honestly for 30 seconds. Go out of the mental bubble for a moment and reflect on that … and please dont give me any posing about “what a danger-loving guy” you are, that just only play “dangerous games for dangerous people - which carebears ARE NOT!”
Just put the “dangerous” personality a side for a moment - I understand you love danger and risk but…
I just want you to honestly reflect on how many people quit due to this. Try.
That’s about as reasonable as crying, “Just look at how many people quit Call of Duty because of headshots!” or whining, “Look how many people quit Super Mario Bros. because of turtles and mushrooms!” This is a PvP game. People who are bad at it will lose, that’s just reality. The people who are winning have done nothing wrong. Get better or suffer the consequences.
More nonsense on stilts.
CCP and everyone else has told you not to invest everything you own into a ship, so there is zero chance of losing all your stuff UNLESS you ignore everyone’s advice. If you are persistently having this problem, call 1800-BETSOFF.
Highsec ganking is not the problem.. People rage/quit for many reasons. From getting their all to often poorly fitted ship getting blown out of the sky to the game is just complicated to welp it is a time sink that I can not stand. I have even heard the whole. I cannot possibly catch up as people have been playing for decades excuses.. As a relatively new player I say hogwash to all that.
Yes the game is complicated. It is designed to be that way. Eve Is a Player Versus Player game. Unlike other games where exceptions are made. There is none made here. If your ship is getting blown out of the sky. Either you are in the wrong Corp as no one there is obviously taking you to the side and explaining how to properly fit a ship or your corp’s doctrine sucks. Worse you are not asking anyone.
As for the rest. When I first started playing there was one player that posted whos rage/quit reason. The local sun was to bright. SMH people will find a reason to quit playing if they look hard enough to justify it.
Also the reason I still suck at PVP. Is not Eve Uni fault. For the past few months I have been dealing with RL issues. So my time has been spent dealing with RL. Hopefully after Wednesday I will be able to devote the time to learn to PVP. Time to join NPSI fleets. Yes, I am not all that much on PVP personally, But that is neither here nor there. Either a player gets to a point of learning to PVP in EVE or that player will be forever not able to enjoy the entire game.
