Congratulations, EVE Online! 40k+ Players Online!

Look miner, it is carebears like you who constantly claimed over the years that ganking is hurting the game and drives away new players. The numbers say the complete opposite.

I agree that this is just a correlation and ganking is hardly the cause. Still one thing is abundantly, without a doubt clear now: the correlation is exactly the opposite of what the carebears try to tell us and they are full of s*.

HOW DARE YOU.

Actually last tour of duty in Eve involved running a null sec corporation and before that I was exec in a couple smaller null sec alliances. Unlike you I understand the power of diversity in eve.

Go ahead and cast shade at the idea that people like to mine. I’ll still think you’re weak for picking them over an actual pvp target.

Maybe go wrack up some poco kills and tell you friends how l33t you are at fragging newbs.

Calm down miner.

What is an actual pvp target? Is it not valid that the target of my aggression is to disrupt supply lines in a groups industry chain?

Possibly that I want to play as a pirate and profit from unsuspecting pilots?

It’s hard to believe that anyone who plays Eve Online hasn’t done so without knowing about it’s history and reputation. Keeping yourself safe from ganks isn’t impossible, nor is it disproportionately difficult.

The game is advertised as a sandbox where your actions can make a difference. What better way to make a difference than to be a low down thieving Pirate! It’s a competitive game and in the end everyone is trying to win. When the objective is to win, the content may not always be desirable or fun for all sides.

Well. It might be 40,000 more opportunities for interaction.

–Gadget wonders if EvE is the Grim-Dark now…

it was a joke, wow.

They could be doing something else.

EvE isn’t the only game on the market.

– In New Eden, Gadget is never isolated

No it wasn’t, jokes are funny. It was a pathetic attempt not to look like a regular miner, but we see right trough you here.

If it cries like a miner, it is definitely a miner.

I wonder how many real players it really is? Not scout/mining/trading alts etc.

Being real here its probably like 50% alts. Always has been those kinds of numbers and everyone knows it, CCP have always hinted at artificial and arbitrary limitations on single account holders during sales . At least they’re ethically enlightened enough to ban input broadcasting so plebs with 20 instalocking nados on gates disappeared.

Free scouts, Rorqual gangs did not… unfortunately.

Scouts didn’t because it takes only sitting cloaked at gate with overview visible… so you can have couple scouts at the same time. If by rorqual gang you mean multiboxed rorqs - then same thing, not much need for input.

I know, just it affect game play and IMHO not in positive way.

Good news for you then: ore anom nerfs and changes to moon mining (no more standard minerals from moons) will make rorq gangs less common.

Doesn’t EVE Online usually have a population dip in the summer, rather than a bump? This year is so weird…

CCP released some numbers on this, but I forgot. I will poke someone who might remember. Iirc most people don’t actually have alts, but many have one. I think it’s 1.6 per player on average.

It is Spring, not Summer.

and… Autumn, not Winter.
