I’m in the lonetrek region. are there any stations around here that let you copy, research, and invent there?
Tons of them. Just bring up the industry window (factory-looking icon), and sort by the function you want, it will show you where services are available, both NPC stations, and player stations.
Player stations may be cheaper (they may also be more expensive), but my experience is that they frequently go offline due to lack of fuel, so while you’re just starting out, and not spending all that much on those activities, you’ll probably be better off just sticking with NPC stations.
Map, look for stations with blue triangle. What you need is the one, that belongs to the NPC corp, which has best standings to you. Price for job will be cheapier.
