Counterplays to Ganking

As I said. You know nothing about ganking…

Maybe you should educate yourself before making fool of yourself here at forums?

I’m fine with allowing neutral logi to rep people who have a limited engagement.

It’s a great idea.

as far i see, you didn’t post anything to counter my point other then “you are wrong”

What else should I say when what you claim is just false?

Okay. You do not get limited engagement timer when you get attacked in highsec by gankers. You first need to attack gankers back to receive it. Until then any logi can heal your shields or armor without problem. So if you are going to remote repair yourself to counter the gank, just don’t attack them back. Aiko never claimed that you can combine all these options together. Some can be, some cannot.

You left out of your list…

  1. Never undock…but spend 22 years whining on the forums using 2,785 forum alts, in the hope that CCP will alter the entire way EVE works, just for you.

Can I abuse this by making a toon/corp that gets paid for such a service?

there might be another solution:

befriend some gankers. imagine… they are humans like me and you

of course, there are the gankbears that have no heart and no soul. forget them. they are easy to avoid, cause they sit in one system all day, waiting for freighters and stuff.

but the smart gankers, like the Princess, you can talk to them. maybe they will stop killing you for the small sum of 1 billion isk.

that’s

  1. be cool and get adopted as a ganker’s pet

miners aren’t actually capable of friendship

but it would be a start to use chats for something else than slurs, insults and whining.

get used to the idea, that eve is an MMO. you are not playing a sologame. you HAVE TO interact with other people

I used to say Hi to high profile gankers and bust their butts for not being red as I passed through their systems. Having a sense of humor will get you far in the game!

Works in WHs too.

Not as much as you would think!

But then I don’t bother to ask for ransom and their usually dead so fast, they have no chance to ask for mercy.

That said, I did run across one player who, after he calmed down. :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:
Admitted he was lazy and got a triple payout for his loss.

If I were to look at my biggest failure in the game, it was not helping players like that more. I should have invited them to my wh. The few that I did said no and I don’t blame them when it was explained that they would have to be active.

So now I’m fuzzy but I didn’t mind trying…

Not as counterplay but as an opportunity, you can be more profitable per hour by stealing the ganker’s destroyed ship blue loot than mining… if you are fast.

Answer to your list: No.
Your list is false.
There is only one thing to be aware off:
Don’t get ganked as you can’t kill ghosts.
HIvmeH HurghDaq jIHeghmoHlu’chugh, vaj puj SoH.
HIvmeH jIH Daq Qey, bItlhutlh.
HIvmeH jIH Daq Suv, bIbatlh.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but gankers are easy to spot, hardly ghosts and glass cannons. It’s just no one finds it worth the effort?

How to gank the gankers.
1: pay attention to your Overview.

2: Pay attention to your dscan. Hit the button often.

3: Watch the local. You can click on the first name to highlight it. Scroll to the bottom and use the shift key to highlight all the names in local. If someone comes in that you have not have not highlighted you will know.

Also pay attention to who has what color green, blue, ect. Use it even whether mining or any jumping between systems. Also pay attention your corps Intel channel and/or be on mumble/your corps discord chat channel.

4: listen to the warning sounds. it will be a quick beeping like sound.

5: When someone lands on grid that is not corp mate. Never trust that it is another miner.

6: Use or quickly develop Situational Awareness.

7: Have a warp point already to click and in a large miner like a retriever be aligned.

8: Unless you can afford to lose your ship. Do not be AFK.

9: paying a mining permit is just bribing that ganker from blowing you out of the sky. It is not going to be honored by the next one.

10: Use common sense. This last one cover everything that I can not hope to cover in this post.

That is your best defence against gankers. Your ship that is mining is not suitable to take on a ganker.

Dscan is a complete waste of time against gankers. When you pick them up at 14.5 AU…they are only 3.5 seconds away. That’s assuming they did not already come within that range within the few seconds since you last hit dscan.

3.5 seconds is an eternity. It is all the time you need to make a decision. That is why you also pay attention to your overview and all the other things that I mentioned in my post. Situational Awareness is always a must. No one thing is going to assure your safety or even should be depended on to give you all the information. Thus 10: using common sense.

Nah…its only even as much as 3.5 seconds if you happened to hit dscan just as the Catalysts are entering range. You’ll be lucky to get half that with a fleet of Catalysts zooming in. Dscan will not prevent you getting ganked. The best it can do is tell you what may be lurking outside a station within range..or at a gate…that’s its best purpose. But its a complete and utter waste of time clicking dscan every 3 seconds hoping it will save you from a gank.

I found that watching local for a buildup was more helpful in space where you have it. Most fun was in a wh where you don’t!
