I am returning to play after a rather long absence. I wanted to resume solo Veldspar mining in high sec with my Covetor (I remember that I used to mine while using 5 protection drones). Any advice for an updated fitting for 2024? I don’t broach the subject of upgrading to a Hulk because I remember it being somewhat debated, and anyway, to get back into the habit, it’s probably best to continue a bit with the Covetor (I think).

here is a general fit that you can use and upgrade to T2 Strip Miners + T2 Mining Drones once you have the skills.
It’s for the max yield and a okayish 16k EHP defense.

Just mark the known HS ganker as full red and be always pre-aligned to jump out of the belt.
If I might advise, try to find a fleet that gives you some boosting, otherwise it will take a good amount of time to make any profit as a solo miner with a single Covetor.

If you abyssal roll large compact shield extenders you can just barely fit one on a correctly fit covetor for a nice bump in EHP, as I recall.
