I want to no how many resources CCP spend on CSM and what are results of CSM ?
The question was not pointed towards me but i will answer:
- i havenāt seen any current CSM member opinion about recent changes in Agency and visibility of signatures.
- i havenāt seen any current CSM member opinion about 16 years celebration.
Note that i could easily miss some posts in these threadnoughts but still iām not seeing CSM presence here. And looking at previous cases it appears that the most common CSM behavior is to never visit these forums after they posted their advertisements āvote for meā and got voted.
To a certain extent there is a lame duck attitude in the final month or two of a CSM term. They know they are going to be replaced and they know that there are no more summits.
So, yeah, things get quiet.
Compounding that is the fact that some CSM members do NOT talk to the players and do not give a fig about what you think unless you are a specific member of their power group. Sad but true.
You are not going to change them at this late date but you can help make a difference in the next term by electing people who you think/hope might be more communicative. If that is what you want out of a CSM.
So take this as another plead for you and others who follow this thread to vote. Maybe for me? Maybe for someone else who looks to represent your part of space. But do NOT let the power bloc monkeys try to convince you voting does not matter so that THEIR votes matter even more.

Thereās also a degree of not wanting to put yourself into the conversation, so that people feel freer to express themselves.
But as someone is explicitly asking for an opinion:
I like most of the Agency 3.0 stuff. Thereās a few interface tweaks that I are needed for clarity, but the UI is good. (maybe making it resizable, but that makes layout significantly harder). Iām not entirely keen on it showing anomalies from other systems, though the inaccuracy makes it somewhat less of a problem (while introducing another issue) I would like to see the game world news added to it, as per a suggestion in another thread. (and maybe chronicle links. thatās iffier, and may make it too busy.) Eveās always had a discoverability issue; working out what you can do is difficult, without out of game resources. (see the āWhat to do in Eveā picture. It shouldnāt have needed to exist) The Agency 3.0 should help a great deal with that, being front and centre.
As for the 16 year celebration: Eh, it worked well enough. Iād have liked it expanded a bit, time wise, or maybe a slightly different method to work it out. But youāll always have complaints about such. Some think it should just be āgive everyone everything automatically.ā But that does ignore the goal of the event. And people complain if they have to work for their āpresentsā.
My vote will go to the candidate who promises to strive for the abolition of this shameful and paper thin travesty of an institution.
Unfortunately there are no candidates who are promising that and it doesnāt seem like CCP will be allowing users to vote ānobodyā (not voting isnāt the same as voting for no one).
Promising your vote to any politician that will promise to strive for something the position completely lacks any power to do is exactly whatās wrong with most of the worlds democratic governments.
A CSM member, or all CMS members could not make the abolition of the CSM happen.
CCP wants it, it will exist until they donāt want it.
If your saying you want a CSM rep to say it should go away thats fine and your right, just donāt fool your self into thinking they could actually make that happen.
Note that this logic applies to literally anything a CSM candidate wants to do! The CSM is just a feel good thing.
I work for a large company. I get to sit in on their semi-annual general meetings. I get to voice my opinion on where I think the company should go. What I think we did right and wrong. You know what happens? The CEO just does what he wants. When I read through the CSM meeting minutes it reminds me exactly of the same minutes we all receive from head office after a general meeting. Itās filled with lots of great ādiscussionā but thatās all it is. Talk is cheap.
CSM14 Candidate hereā¦
Lot of discontent in this threadā¦ It saddens me to see the depth of the complaints against CCP, Eve Online and the CSM idea.
I, generally, like that CCP tries new things. I like the excitement of a new patch or balance pass. I love to see the player base come up with emergent gameplay and emergent complaints to that gameplay.
I have been playing Eve off-and-on (mostly on) for over 12 years. I have ganked and been ganked. I have āwon it allā and lost it all. I have lived in high-sec as a mission runner, tried mining, explored, ran alts and manufacturing, had 6 months of loot/production blown up while in match at the alliance tournament. I have taken null space and lost null space. I have been lost in a wormhole because I forgot to jump my prober in first. I have been scammed in Jita. I have had my frigate hot-dropped by dreads and supers.
I play Eve for all of it. I try to get everyone I know to play it. I spend hours (even last night 6 hours before I needed to get on a plane) teaching newbros how to use it so they will love it too.
I love the idea of the CSM. I love that CCP has kept it. I donāt think itās perfect, but I love it and have dreamed of being on it since I heard of it back when I first started playing.
Can I promise you a new golden age of Eve Online and CSM? No, I canāt. I havenāt joined CCPās payroll (though, I did ask CCP Hellmar for a job at Vegas 2018). Can I say that your mining barges will always be safe and you caps wonāt get nerfed? No, I canāt. CCP still holds the reins and has, hopefully, a grand vision and goal, that the CSM can help support and mold.
What I can promise is that I will strive tirelessly to improve the game I love and the body that represents the players that love it with me. Thatās all I can do. I promise to be up at 3am for meetings (USTZ). I promise to not push my own agenda until I have heard as many arguments as I can, pro and con. I promise to be as transparent as I can be. I promise to call CCP on any issues, shortsightedness, or bullshittiery that I beleive hurts the game and community. I promise to defend ideas that, I believe, will enhance game play, newbro retention and the eve community.
I donāt have the loudest social media platform or the largest alliance in game. Hell, my twitch/youtube channels have 1 video each (thanks for that real life ). What I do have is knowledge of the game, time to read, time to listen and a deep love of the game. Want a candidate who listens? Vote Sid! Want someone to respond to your evemails? Vote Sid! Want someone who spends hours a week watching videos, reading forums and lurking on discord/reddit/twitter (lot of airport time)? Vote Sid!
Let us channel the unrest/anger/discontent and make the next 16 years of Eve Online and the CSM so awesome and epic that other game companies copy it and it puts Eve in even more magazines and newspapers.
And let us do it togetherā¦
