CSM Vote Result confusion

Yeah exactly what I said.

Its only facts when you say it.

My god, I really hope you dont wonder why people hate you and your Class.

It’s a shame that folks feel the need to hate someone else simply because they disagree.

If everyone is inherently equal why is there a history of disenfranchising specific parts of the electorate via legislation?

Oh troll on, McDuff.

You havent even put forward anything to agree with.

The record on how trustworthy and selfless anyone of the political class is stands for itself.

You shouting into the wind that it isnt and how inaccurately judged you are is not going to change it.

Politicians arent hated because they disagree with their constituents, its because that very point of disagreement is always ALWAYS in your favour.

Because that person contributes more to CCP’s bottom line.

This is a common perception, and one that I’ve found to not be true in my experience in politics. In the end, politicians will do what is popular with the largest number of voters, regardless of what the rich and powerful think, or how much money is given to them by a donor. Staying in office is one of their top priorities, and the minute they cross their constituents, even for a big donor, is the minute they lose their jobs.

This conversation is the equivalent of you guys telling a NASA engineer you know better than they do how to build a rocket because you’ve spent a couple hours playing Kerbal and watched Apollo 13 a few times on HBO.

He’s not going to villify himself, is he? Why would he admit to anything else.

And thats the lie Im leaving this on. What a total snake oil salesman.

And not a very good one.

I think you’ll find that people outside of the US know just as much, if not more, about US politics as most US citizens do; because when you sneeze we all catch a cold.

I’m not trolling. I’m being honest - it’s disappointing how unwilling some of you are to acknowledge your prejudices and try to fight them. Instead, you insist that you’re right and you put words in my mouth that I never said to try to win the argument. You group people into “classes” instead of looking at them as individuals. You take the bad behavior of one and attribute it to all. You stereotype. That’s what this whole thread really is, honestly.

Again, I prefer to judge people by how the act, not what they look like, where they’re from, or what they do for a living. That’s how I was raised. I know not everyone feels that way, which is unfortunate.

That may be true. At the same time, I’m not “most US citizens.”

Yet you are arguing black is white BECAUSE you are in the… profession? Is that a better way to talk about the “job” of politician than Class? Way to cherry pick emotive words.

Oh wait thats another thing you need to do to be a politician.

WE ARE JUDGING POLITICIANS BY HOW THEY ACT. AND HOW THEY HAVE ACTED FOR 200+ YEARS

Indeed, you’re not most US citizens.

You’re on the inside looking out, whereas most of us are on the outside looking in; what you see as normal is seen by others as reprehensible.

On a personal level I have no problem with you, on a general level I do have a problem with politicians; it may well be stereotyping but politicians have earned that stereotype over many centuries.

Not a lie. How often do you find politicians doing things that they know will alienate a majority of the people who elect them? Almost never. Because that’s the quickest way to getting thrown out of office, and that’s the thing they want least of all.

I feel like I’m saying basic, obvious things. I can’t speak for other systems, but our system is a popularity contest, and you don’t win by doing things people don’t like.

For fear of being silenced for mentioning real world politics, constantly.

They do it because they know nothing will be done to either stop them or punish them.

I’m not arguing black is white. I’m providing you with my experience, which is a direct one that very few people have actual access to. It’s the difference between talking to a lawyer about the law and watching Law and Order with your girlfriend and talking to her about it.

You’re judging a group of people based on the behavior of a few. It’s no different than saying one race of person is all bad because this person was bad, or all people from this country have this characteristic. Don’t do that.

So why aren’t you out there organizing against this? If you want these people to be stopped or punished, go do it.

I can name three politicians (maybe) that did good. I can name three dozen right now serving that are objectively doing harm.

Its real REAL handy that because you are also one in RL that you cant actually provide any evidence to support your position.

Typical. Politics.

Nobody deserves to be judged on things they haven’t done.

So there are three people you are willing to judge based on their actions directly. That’s a good first step.

Yeah Ill raise an army and besiege parliment while Im at it.

“Why do you want to be poor”

is basically what you said.

Right, Im actually going to stop here.

Im sorry to trouble you with this, Your Lordship, us peasants need to mind our place and learn to love those who stand on our backs.

(NOte: The three I mentioned are historical examples long dead. The thirty are serving now. I notice how he ignores those)

Voter apathy; it doesn’t matter who you vote for, a politician always wins.

Hush, or we’ll bring Oliver Cromwell back from the dead and put a hex on your potato crop.
