If we take the whole cycle yes you could die… but you are the safest of whole universe. You are now the alone line ship able to bring combat friend by cyno, and you have a long part of you’re cycle where you can make indirect interaction with ennemy and disalow they the possibility to ripost.
Only if you never do anything but sit idle in a safespot.

You could still dscan, and you are pretty safe to warp on thing 100 KM after a nice dscan so … you coudl do a lot of things. A lot more than just know someone is in local.
And do what with the information you gain?
Also, d-scan can be countered by combat recons, cloaks, staying docked, etc. You can’t whine that d-scan has no counter when there is an entire class of ships that literally has 100% immunity to d-scan.

That’s incorrect! you are much safer when docked at NPC station just spinning your ship.
And about as productive!
