So I was reading a post by a forum member and what he wrote intrigued me. I haven’t played EVE a long time at all so I try to get as much info as I can from different sources and the forum is one of them.
I kindly asked the member if he would care to elaborate but he flat out refused so I thought since I learned a few things with my last thread I would open this here thread and see if I’d get as lucky as the last time.
So this is his post:
“Only BoB I know died a long time ago. In fact, when Goons used treachery to kill the Band of Brothers it really was the end of the sandbox as we knew it.. The era of powerblocs has been in place for almost a decade now. It’s all renters for isk/money laundering schemes anymore .”
And I was curious about the part in bold.
If anyone could take a crack at elaborating on what he might have meant I would sure appreciate.
I am open to the possibility that he actually didn’t mean anything deeper than that and that he was merely letting out a feeling of disenchantment.
But I’m curious to know!
Thank you!
If you paid attention you would have known that we moved and internet service is only going to be open on the 6th but all you’re interested about is trolling so troll on and farewell.
Edit. And I blocked those who liked your post too as they’re surely your alts.
In any game running on 2 decades old, you’re going to get a lot of players from “back in the day” who think the game was great in years X and Y, but now sucks because the devs, the whiners, and corporate greed have all collaborated to ruin ‘the good times’.
In this case, Nullsec regions have over time evolved/devolved from various groups duking it out for territory “the way God intended”, into much larger groups and alliances, many of which have declared “non-aggression” treaties with each other. This is also referred to as “the big blue donut”.
Since huge alliances own much of Nullsec, smaller groups often “pay rent” to operate in their space, get declared ‘blue’, and go about their business. A number of players feel that ‘the business’ of many groups in Nullsec is to farm as much ISK and resources as possible, some of which could be used in outside RMT schemes (illegal by game rules).
So it’s basically a gripe that Nullsec isn’t the Wild Wild West anymore, and has now become fenced pastureland where the farmers generally only have to contend with the occasional raid rather than war.
As others have mentioned, Reddit often has better information on some EVE topics:
It’s a true gripe, though. One that CCP could have taken action over by scaling up the level of NPC aggression in null relative to bloc size/power, where smaller player corps no longer have the power to challenge the big blocs.
@Kezrai_Charzai Do you still log into the game?
If yes, may I add you to my contacts and ask you questions once in a while if it’s okay with you?
You seem to be the only member of few forum members who know anything about anything of this game. I would appreciate.
Otherwise I guess it’s onto EVE Reddit.

Unfortunately I’m rarely in-game as Kezrai, it’s mostly a forum/charity-oriented character. Even forums I usually check only during slow times at other things. Lots of things I can’t answer about EVE, but I try to add useful info where I can.
As for troll content on the forums, that happens in a lot of games. Forums accumulate the folks who mostly just exist to throw shade at others. They’re also the ones scanning the forum hourly for every opportunity, so you tend to see them early in many posts.
EVE has a lot of Internet history though, so Google searches usually turn up something interesting.
