DAILY MISIONS

Yes, I understand what you are talking about. the AIR daily challenge gives you 10k SP for completing 2 challenges. They need that initial 10k SP to do the SP farm thing. Without that, it wouldn’t be possible.

But how is that relevant for the topic of the thread, which is that daily challenges feel like a chore for people who aren’t minmaxing them?

I don’t disagree that minmaxing the AIR career program for easy SP is not a problem, I just don’t see how it’s relevant here. Whether the first 10k SP of the AIR daily goals takes 5 minutes or 30 minutes hardly matters for those people who get 200k SP a day on a 10 hour cooldown.

My point is that it would make it even easier to do, and you wouldn’t need to be in or around high sec in order to do it.

You absolutely need to be in HS to do the abuse that you mentioned, as your new character spawns in HS. I haven’t done that, but I really don’t see why those throwaway characters would waste time flying to null when they can do everything near where they spawn.

Also I have no idea what the point is you’re trying to make.

Those toons don’t have to be in nullsec. All you need to have is an alt in high sec, as the SP gained from doing that is shared across all three toons on the account. Make it to where the SP gained via the AIR program can only be applied to the toon that earned it, and the problem is solved…

Oh that’s something I can agree with.

But that’s a different issue than this topic.

Long story short, they are earning the 200k SP on the throwaway alts, then applying that 200k SP to their main toon. Make it to where you can’t do that, and the SP farms go away overnight…

As far as the AIR daily challenges being more applicable to those who live in WH or null, what do you want the challenges to be? Get lanced on a gate? Get hit by a Doomsday? Kill a haven botter with a void bomb?

No, something more common than that even.

Something that aligns with regular gameplay of an as broad as possible group of EVE players.

“Jump 3 gates”
“Shoot a target”
“Warp a cumulative 200 AU”

Players should be rewarded for logging in, undocking and playing the game as usual.

Even if they don’t pay attention to the dailies at all. And only if they want to get extra rewards on a day they can pick some of the more unique ones that make you go out of your usual way like “scan 5 signatures” or “earn 50 LP”.

In order to cater to everyone’s playstyle, there would have to be like 50 different daily goals.

Yep.

And it’s up to CCP to do that. While the ones I shared above would do well for everyone who undocks, CCP could also add a bunch for the in-station activities. We already have industry-related dailies, but no trading yet.

If CCP were to make a selection of 10 or even 50 dailies that cover all sorts of playstyles and give any active players access to an easy 2 completions, up to 5 out of the 50 a day, people would feel like they can always easily get their daily rewards without it being a chore.

Slam into another player’s ship at greater than 10km/s
Lose a ship to Concord
Jettison a group of Homeless into the Sun

Sure, I’m game…

Please link me a statement from CCP where they tell that the daily goals are only for new players. If i had ever read such a statement before, it would have had me spared much to complain about the daily goals. But don’t invest too much time searching please. I am sure such a statement doesn’t exist.

Ah the glory days. I think they should have made it 12 instead of 8.

The assumption is that killing 25 non capsuleers is easy. But you have to find a mission agent or an anomaly. Most of the low level missions dont have enough so you have to do 2 missions or more. If you pick a level 4 mission you have to complete the whole mission or suffer standing loss. It is outrageous. Just for the daily task?

You can use combat anomalies instead to compelete it but then you are competing with other players. In my experience there is a high standard among people who farm combat anomalies. If you warp to an anaomaly and someone is already there you move on. But because of the daily task it incentivizes people who are not farming escalations to just warp in and kill everything even if someone else is already there. Its outrageous.

Tl;dr It seems like it would be better for all if it was “Kill 1 non capsuleer” instead of 25. Have a nice day.

Everyone has 3 character slots and it should be possile to complete the daily task on all 3 in a reasonable amount of time. If this causes inflation of ISK, evermarks and PLEX, then lower those rewards imo. Thats all, have a nice day.

Players: We don’t like the daily tasks
CCP: Ok we increase reward
Players: We dont like the daily tasks
CCP: ???

Seems to be a miscommunication issue. But who knows.

Maybe it’s gaslighting.

it is easy. Anyone can open a T2 Abyssal Filament anywhere. A cheap T1 Cruiser can run it 100% safe within 10 minutes and you don’t need to compete with other players. In all 3 pockets combined there are most likely 25 NPCs (all the destructable containers count as well). If not, just run another one. And you get ~20 million ISK in loot on top.

I wonder how many people know about abyssal filaments? Nevertheless it seems excessive having to train cruiser and run two of them on each character for the daily

But this begs the question what is the intention of the dailies?
