I decided to come back to Eve and downloaded the launcher from the website. I installed it in my applications folder, and then tried to open it. It opens to a white box with EVE Launcher - version 1434482 at the top but otherwise it is just a big white box. No other text or fields. I tried deleting it and re-downloading it again and I got the same behavior. Any other ideas on how to fix this?
Further troubleshooting reveals I am able to get into the game by clicking on the icon in the menu bar and selecting Server List-> Play on Tranquility. I am then brought to the game’s login screen. The launcher never does anything other than display a white box. Login through that screen is disabled, but at least it shows the game is working…I need the launcher to work now so I can play!
Hey there, this is most likely caused by old cache files from when you were last playing. Try clearing the launcher cache, that should solve the issue with the white launcher.
- Please press the windows key + R to open a run window.
- Copy and paste the following into the run window and press enter.
%LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\cache\QtWebEngine
- Right click on the folder named ‘default’ and delete it.
- Start the launcher and see if the issue persists.
