B2 + FIRE + THE IMPERIUM vs X47L-Q
Cleansing Branch - January 2023
In January, Siberian Squads joined WinterCo as a full member and settled in BKG-Q2 in Branch. They immediately hit the ground running by reinforcing B2âs structures in Branch and secured some solid wins.
Most of the citadels went uncontested due to our impressive forms, but there were some great fights:

We flash-formed Cerbs + Muninns for the GTC Azbel in 2B7A-3 and hostiles formed AB Armor HACs to come contest us. We killed their ansiblex the day before, meaning they had to travel further. Our interdictors waterboarded them the whole way - it took 20 minutes for GTC + Brave to take 6 stargates; we finished the timer and left system as they finally arrived.
As we left, they used the opportunity to anchor another Ansiblex. GTC started heading back towards Venal to defend a BOSS structure, leaving BRAVE behind to defend the newly anchoring ansiblex. After baiting them onto the Ansiblex with some small-gang ships, BRAVE bubbled themselves and we dogpiled them with 11 seconds to go:

WinterCo upshipped to Faction Battleships to offset being outformed.
At this time, FI.RE were fighting against The Imperium and Pandemic Horde, and we heard of rumours they were looking for a new place to live. Anticipating a huge conflict in the North, WinterCo took a defensive stance by attempting to control X47L-Q. On Monday 23rd January we reinforced the ihub in X47L-Q, and on Wednesday 25th January, The Imperium showed upâŚ

We used the momentum of beating B2 at several CTAâs and the turn of the Lunar New Year to contest an iHub from V0LTA in Pure Blind.
The first engagement happened in X47 off the KQK gate; 3 nodes spawned in the system behind, so hostiles made an attempt to prevent our two Eagle fleets from getting past them. A CN Nightmare fleet bridged directly into the system with the most nodes and pushed all the hostile node runners off, and started claming those for themselves; then bridged directly into the fight to give more support. With some cheeky maneuvering to seperate the two fleets, this 1.5h engagement saw us win the first 3 nodes.
As they were losing, B2 summed The Imperium to come help; with Goonswarm bringing 150 Cormorants and INIT bringing 100 Kikimoras. The only way to secure nodes at this stage was to use Entosis FAX and keep the B2 fleets entertained - which became much easier after escalating dreads onto their FAX.
Fighting FI.RE - February 2023
After FI.RE were evicted from the South-East by Pandemic Horde and The Imperium, they took refuge in a V0LTA keepstar to rebuild. They were not allowed to anchor any structures or claim any sovreignty of their own; if they want sov, they have to take Branch.
Over the next few weeks, FI.RE made a couple of attempts to mass-entosis against us (Denied: Battle Report Tool), but the rest has mostly been a tug of war as both sides were evenly matched and unable to make progress against their respective enemies, but some notable fights broke out:
2023-02-05 10:00 - Fade Fortizars
Battle Report Tool
B2 had been calling daily Strat Ops / CTAs to reinforce our Fortizars in Fade. We accidentlaly let this one get into hull due to arriving late under cyno jammers - so decided to brawl it out on the final.
2023-02-06 02:00 - Tribute Brawl
Battle Report Tool
The daily roams from FI.RE hit a pinnacle here, as they tried to bait us into engaging their Nightmares with an Eagle fleet on standby. We knew what was coming and got them to engage too soon, giving us the opportunity to swing back and fight them.
2023-02-06 14:00 - More Fade Fortizar Defence
Battle Report Tool
We formed to save a Fortizar, but hostiles tried to flee as soon as we entered system. Disappointed; we camped their staging keepstar for an hour and reinforced their ansiblexes while they watched on.
2023-02-16 10:00 - F-NMX6 Fortizar, ft The Imperium
Battle Report Tool
We turkey-shoot their fleet while they busy grinding down the structure, 3 hostile fleets mwding around the fortizar with only one target in mind. After downtime CN internet patching in pretty slowly so we couldnât take the fight again.
Eventually it takes another goon fleet to help them, kudos to their dedication.
However in order to get rid of my structure spam in their home space, they need to keep trying.
Rip our old fort, we immediately anchored another as Goonswarm left grid.
2023-02-23 17:00 - AHACs vs Eagles
Battle Report Tool
We formed for a Banderlogs Astrahus in DP-1YE - with the chance of using AHACs + FAX. We knew the Astra was Neut + Anti-Cap so we wanted to pull the fight as far off as possible, so when hostiles cynoâd in 2,000km beneath the structure - we made a very quick decision to take the fight at that range.
Our fleets warped across to their in cyno and we scrammed each of their anchors. Hostiles were supposed to buy a little bit of time for their allies to arrive - but our allies arrived sooner with a Nightmare fleet too. Ultimately, we ended up fighting 300 vs 150, then 300 vs 150 by splitting them on grid, then returning to kill the Astrahus.
As they were unable to extract, 100+ pilots safe-logged inside the Astrahus to wait for us to leave. We capitalized on this by attempting to follow up on other timers across Fade, giving them max fatigue before we went home. Gf all!
We had one final important strategic objective to achieve; control the final ihub in the X47L-Q constellation. Previously, The Imperium attended our offensive ihub timers with casual Cormorants and Kikimoras. This time, they showed a much bigger interestâŚ
2023-03-01 19:00 - O-BY0Y IHUB
Battle Report Tool
3,200 pilots attended this 3-hour fight, but by jamming the majority of the constellation, setting up good ansiblex routes and committing caps, we managed to secure the objective.
This was the last opportunity we would get before The Imperium made their formal move.
The Imperium Deathclone Deploy - March 2023
On Saturday 4th March 2023, GTC flipped their keepstar in DO6H to Goonswarm Federation. The self-proclaimed âLast Independent Alliance in EVEâ (We Form V0LTA) managed to convince their new-bro alliance We Form Blob, plus BRAVE, plus all of FI.RE to share their Keepstar in C4C-ZC. Naturally, we interrupted their move up:
But we tracked the following numbers on their CTA in EUTZ:
A few days prior to this, I had the honour of joining Pandoâs FC chat alongside Securitas Protector of BFL: Twitch
Nautrally, we moved our deathclone stager to UMI-KK as well:
The next few weeks would show B2 finding the courage to hit our 9-month old Fortizars in Fade, and the Keepstars in NPC Pure Blind, plus the one dropped by a solo PvPer in F-NMX6. But thereâs two big notable things happening:
- Skirmish over X47L-Q
- Asymetric Warfare
X47L-Q Keepstar
Our keepstar got reinforced 12 times in total:

Mostly the armor timers went uncontested, however 1T isk of Imperium Losses later, it eventually died:
2023-03-12 - X47 Armor Timer Slam-Dunk - 85b Lost vs 355b Killed
Battle Report Tool
This landslide victory saw us saving the Keepstar timer by 10:25 EVE Time, but with rage-logins after downtime. Hostiles had put themselves in extremely bad positions, so by the time pilots were trying to log back in, we were able to siege-green with capitals and essentially free-fire on slow moving Battleships. Hostile fleet commanders had so little control on the grid, they made the call to âlog offâ, and instead, tried to ping extraction fleets over the next 48 hours. This resulted in people getting bored & frustrated logging in early, and we were able to comfortably kill more hostiles around the clock.
2023-03-26 - FLASHFORM X47L-Q iHub Entosis:
Battle Report Tool
Around 14:00, hostile spotted we left system of X47L unjammed; so rageformed Battleship, Caps + FAX and tried to entosis our iHub, We flash-formed and outformed our hostiles by quite a bit, and our Harpy fleet was killing all their bubblers so we had a clear warp-in towards them. They decided to extract and left their entosis Fax to die.
Around 18:30, we pinged Harpies to finish off a couple of Athanors we reinforced earlier in the week.
At 19:15, we formed for the ihub in Querious; but hostiles already had 240 people in system compared to our 100. I felt it would be rude not to show up at all with such an audience; so we switched into Harpies and just kited around and tried to get some kills.
At 00:20, we formed Harpies to kill another Imperium Athanor.
At 01:20, we re-formed Harpies to kill the final Athanor of the night, but we saw B3 + Goons forming to create some shield timers against us. We switched to AHACs and dropped/killed the isolated Goonswarm fleet, then reshipped to Harpies and pushed B3 off our ansiblexes and out of Branch - and Horde finished off another Athanor.
2023-04-07 - X47 Final Armor Timer - 479b Lost vs 546b Killed
Battle Report Tool
What a majestic ending of our keepstar. We were always going to lose this X47 keepstar because the amount of hostiles swore to grind it down, however I could not ask for a better finale fight than today. We were butchering through them so fast but the system was still stuck at heavy tidi. In the end it was on who can call for more reinforcements. With nearly 12 hours fight plus another 12 hours of preplanning, I can see our fleet efficiency wonât increase over time anymore so I decided to call it. Itâs amazing we didnât hand it over, we defended well but they simply had too many.
glad we had this slugfest together, would do again.
Asymetric Warfare - March 2023 Onwards
Structures can be redeployed.
Ships can be replaced.
Our capsuleers time is invaluable; and finding something to do will always be our priority.
I was transparent from the start that there will be fights we can and cannot take. Fortunately, there are so many people shooting at us now (Goonswarm, INIT, Dracarys, XIX, BRAVE, IGC, Sigma, Synergy, SHADO, Banderlogs) that we have SUCH a target rich environment. Now, BL0B + SOME BRAVE structures are covered by living in range of The Imperium. And XIX donât actually own anything, so I guess theyâre exempt from this strategy. But SIGMA, SHADO, DRACARYS and IGC (and even Goonswarm corp-rented structures) are all in the crosshairs whilst their deathclones are up here in Fade.
Just like when we fought the âFreemen of the Northâ for this space before, our objective is to split the hostiles into smaller groups and punish their income stream individually.
We have divided our pilots into several mini deployment-zones and are taking great pleasure steamrolling particular areas:

Whilst B3 + Imperium created initial timers against our keepstars again, we killed 7 GSF Structures (including one in Delve!!) and created even more timers against them - and Pandemic Horde landed a PIPEBOMB WITH BLOPS BATTLESHIPS :PogChamp:

The next few weeks will be interesting for WinterCo.
Will we see more action in Branch, or Pure Blind?
CNTZ will be playing Defensive
EUTZ will be playing Offensive
USTZ will be playing both - this has been a true tug-of-war.
