Deleting the Intaki Syndicate faction is an extremely annoying design decision

Gaining standings with the Intaki Syndicate is an irritating process, there is no free way to do it like other larger factions. It also has significant derived standings hits for almost every other faction! So its a long term decision to do it, if you want to live in Syndicate its worth your time and the loss to other standings.

This new patch will apparently transfer the Syndicate agents to Caldari or Gallente. Which is either not great (I now have to live with major standing loss for no benefit) or a disaster (I can’t even use the agents in my home region any more). This is extremely lame, especially because I can not join any Syndicate faction warfare to fight against this. Some player agency, phooey! Pirates get to have their own faction but not Intaki :frowning:

This does suck, and I do sympathize. However with your last statement, most bloodlines do NOT have their own faction. Khanid are the exception. Most of Intaki were and are in the Gallente Federation, the Syndicate was/is a VERY small portion of their population.

That being said, it looks like your Caldari standings are just as high, so you should have good access still when (if) the Caldari absorbs them this winter.

There are also the Ammatar Mandate and Thukker Tribe with their own small factions.

I’m beginning to think that this might not be the Syndicate being deleted entirely.

Instead, I think that Intaki Bank, Intaki Commerce and Intaki Space Police will join either Federation or State, depending on the result of the State’s upcoming military campaign, which apparently the State can’t fail.

And following Silphy’s escape, the Intaki Syndicate corp will remain part of a much reduced Syndicate faction as the sole member, much like the Mordu’s Legion corp is the only member of the Mordu’s Legion Command faction.

The story arc for the Syndicate hasn’t finished just yet.

Losing any of the minor factions is bad. Just because most Intaki are part of the Federation doesn’t mean they can’t have an independent faction too. Most Minmatar are still Amarr slaves after all.

Feels like I should get some kind of refund for my time and derived standings. I understand storyline or whatever, but I am talking gameplay. When I invested my time into learning skills I got a refund when those were removed.

These are not a playable blood line though, but you are right in that the Syndicate member corps will either join the Caldari or the Gallente depending on the success of the Caldari.

That would be alright, especially if they kept the unique Syndicate LP rewards for those few stations. fingers crossed

You should be largely unaffected though, unless the Caldari somehow fails.

derrived
You lose standings with everyone else when you do Syndicate storyline missions, which is the only way to gain Syndicate standings. So I lost all those standings for nothing now, and its a HUGE pain to get faction standings back

Your Caldari State standings are only .15 less than The Syndicate…you also keep the corporations. You can also gain faction standings a lot easier next week. Yes your Minmatar and Gallente standings are a bit low, but are similar to what would have happened if you worked for the Caldari instead.

Those are only in the state they are now because I grinded the tutorial missions for each of those empires to fix it. It would be much worse if I didn’t do things to fix it.

Getting Caldari state faction standing is easy without derived hits. You can do the tutorial missions, you can do epic arcs. Which I did, I did all of that â– â– â– â– . And now its for no reason

It’s not though…as you will get to use those standings anyways after this winter, along with the Syndi corp you grinded up as well.

The only released info about it says the faction is being dissolved. FC has said nothing about the syndicate keeping a few stations

Stations are owned by corporations, those corporations will be part of the Caldari…

The game world is dynamic. Allegiances change. When CCP removed learning skills, it only affected (your) characters, and not the game world. So, it was fair they reimbursed the palyers for it. Also SP are tied to real world currency and one can argue monetary loss. Another reason why they reimbursed (with SP, I might add).

Character standings are not related to real world currency in any form. So Fenris does not owe reimbursement for them. Also, the game world is dynamic, it has been so since the beginning of EVE, and that is something you have to live with. You only complain when you come out worse off after changes than before. If it was the other way around, you wouldn’t complain. This is a case of – you win some you lose some.

The game world is absolutely NOT dynamic and it is one of the core principals of EVE that old characters and content are preserved. People would throw a fit if the Gallante won against the Caldari decisively and reintegrated them into the Federation, same if the Amarr won against the Minmarar and re-enslaved them. All of the war goals are soft plays that are a win for everyone, no one gets their faction removed or deleted. Maybe one or two systems change hands. Like faction warfare, an eternal war than no one can win.

Except if your faction is too obscure and small I guess. Then they feel fine ruining it. I’ve been playing EVE in Syndicate regions for 18 years. They have never deleted a faction until now.

I would not be complaining if there was Syndicate faction warfare and my faction lost. If I had a chance to actually do something about it.
