Denying lvl 4 (& lvl 5) missions to alpha's (March patch notes) is a very bad idea

Did I say that? No.

You think players running missions are going to provide content for the game. But they mostly don’t. They tend to stick to themselves and farm until they are bored.

Do faction warfare or null sec instead. Pays more and then they provide content.

Google ‘EVE Online’, their own web page is titled:

Play the Free Record-Breaking Space Sandbox MMO Game EVE Online

The blurb inside reads:

“EVE Online is a community-driven spaceship MMO where players can play for free, choosing their own path from countless options. Experience space exploration, immense PvP and PvE battles, mining, industry and a thriving player economy in an ever-expanding sandbox.”

Sounds like it’s being advertised as F2P to me. What it isn’t being advertised as is “Join our feature-restricted trial version for as long as you like!”

You old “subs or go home!” guys need to get with the current decade. CCP needs to figure what F2P actually means and how to make money on it. Or someone else will come along and either shove them aside and show them how it’s done ¶, or come up with another space game and show CCP how ‘market PVP’ is really done.

Sound familiar?

Yep, new gaming threats… somebody big, with serious gaming cred, and a team that knows how to turn out quality space games. Something like Stahahah… Starhahaha Citihahahahahaaaa…

Okay, okay, I couldn’t keep a straight face on that one. But somebody could.

If you guys are correct, and I have no reason to doubt that you are, that ccp has been co-opted by a Korean company, you can look for a few changes.

The Koreans gave up gold, when their government needed it, in wars, voluntarily. Wedding rings, family heirlooms, etc, etc. They allied with the United States because they saw us as the only ones with real power not coveting their land, like Japan and China had, in the past.

They have been, over the years, our best ally in the Asia Pacific region, and their soldiers… The KATUSAs are somewhat maligned, within their own culture, having been selected for high TOEFL scores, to communicate with us, but the ROK soldiers, some of them can give our special forces a run for their money.

Korea is not crap, and their mindset, values, and culture are pretty well adapted to modern ways, while still retaining the core values of the past.

Overall, I could not be happier with this acquisition. We’re in good hands.

Removed a few off topic posts.

And you sir, sound like no fun at all.

Yes, most agree this is a money grab disguised as fighting botting. It’s unfortunate, but until CCP gets serious about botting, it’s life

No, most do not agree.
A few people who are paranoid posting on the forums is not most.

And some of us have seen plenty of evidence of Alpha bots.

Missions pay so little compared to other income option’s, I think in a few month’s time when those smart alpha’s go and look for other opportunities they will look back and go “phew so glad I stopped doing High Sec mission’s, else I would have missed out on all this content”.

Not talking about burner’s as you you cant really finish those without an omega account, and people using alpha’s as pullers is also against the EULA as you shouldn’t be able to have an omega account and alpha open at the same time so how does the omega warp to the alpha’s site huh ? :] people abusing the system.

I think, the alpha bots are mainly running L4 courier and mining missions. They are currently looking into pirate ships for Alphas, so likely we will see Machs and Gilas removed next.

Good enough for me.

or VNI.

But yeah, I saw many L4 distribution bots, And I think removing pirat BS from alphas is a good thing too. Because actually the best way to make money for an alpha is to use a mach to blitz missions, and blitzing some missions can be done quite easily - as long as you have access to agent. IMO alpha bot doing L3S should be more common that alpha bots doing L4S

Not sure what you are against here… is it that Alphas shouldn’t be botting, or Alphas who aren’t botting shouldn’t have access to L4’s because they can make decent ISK on them? I doubt anyone is blitzing L4s with a bot.

As already shown, L4 missioning is the smallest fraction of all Alpha-botting/ISK earning available opportunities. Why target 2.5% of the problem and leave 97.5% of it alone?

where ?

Many bots are alphas. If you want to reduce the impact of alpha bots, then you can reduce the maximum amount of money they can make. Removing L4D is a correct step in that regard, removing L3S is another one. My point is, that removing L4S is not as important as removing L3S.

That might might work in some forms of employment.

Thing is…

This is one MMO among hundreds, with more coming online everyday. If I was playing a F2P solely for quest/mission running and 90% of the fun got nerfed, I’d be out in a flash for another game.

Devs these days (and their sycophants) are living in a dream world. People are going to bail in droves.

You misread BOTS.
edit : I misspelled “misspelled”

As I posted in another thread, the botting thing could be solved by simply removing F2P completely.

But that’s not the premise of this thread.
