I’m the least person that should talk about lowsec, I’m just passing through that space.
It was a rather lose conversation about “what CSM thinks about lowsec”. Most of CSM members were from nullsec. So players that not playing in said space have voice to speak about it. It’s like me, full time explorer give advice to CCP how sov holding should works (with zero experience about sov holding). The point is, when CSM are asking question like that CSM are just 10 people with 10 different opinions that shouldn’t have been taken under consideration, because when we have situation like now, almost all memeber came from nullsec, opinions will be biased. This situation shouldn’t take place in sandbox game. Opinions matter when persons that are speaking about the subject knows what they are talking about.
Imagine the situation that next winter expansion will be about faction warfare. Why nullsec representatives should decide how FW should look like? EvE is not straight progress into nulllsec, there is way more gameplay that hit F1 in TiDi battles.
I will do that eventually, but since I’m here and he’s here and we’re both reading the thread, I thought it would be polite to ask him.
Well, to be clear, we won’t be deciding anything. We’ll be advising CCP - they’ll be doing the deciding. But I intend to get as much info from the LS community as I can so when these issues come up I can represent that viewpoint effectively.
Same thing to me, you will be advising when most of CSM propablly never dip into example FW scenario. What is the best that CSM can do? Focus groups. Small changes like citadels proliferation.
A bridge between CCP and playerbase. I didn’t see anything like it apart from Jin but I don’t think he sleeps (and when he does he’s just dreaming about stucking in warp propablly). Most of CSM being elected and gone from the public. We have official forum, check how many post was made at CSM section by CSM memebers and were not about election.
And I’m going to change that.
And how you going to change that?
This year supposed to be a QoL changes for the gameplay as Seagull said on Fanfest, I guess if was an empty words since she no longer in her position and someone else fill it with his/her own vision. Small problems are piling up and won’t be touch because it won’t have enough impact for pulling players into the game. It’s pure marketing, make tasty teaser, release and move into something else. This was CCP module operandi for years.
Look what happens to RW they didn’t even bother to change them. Someone, somewhere at CCP thought it would be good to release RW because is the same time there was a huge change to moon mining, so nullsec will have to actively mine. So nullsec will need miners. What a coincidence, they at same time release RW and wrap it up as content for hisec (sic!) and pve…
CCP is a small company. They don’t have spare workers unless we are talking about things like citadels, impacting whole gamers population.
I’ll give you an example how ineffective players feedback is to CCP. Unless there are tears ofc.
Players since the introduction of hacking modules were always asking for one module to hack both types of exploration cans, like for years. There is one for relics sites other for data ones. CCP always response was: it would be OP and would destroy the market of current modules. So, two fanfest ago I think, some player meet a dev at pubcrawl. Few beers after they talked about hacking modules. Dev said that he is currently taking care of that part of EvE and it would be great to have that kind of modules. Not long after they were introduced to the game (it’s a true story btw).
See, that’s a mess, nobody there is pulling a strings on some low level developement and most QoL changes are that kind of changes. I never ever see a coherent vision from any of CCP devs, well maybe Seagull but that other story. They are just assigned, get their jobs done and leave to other assignments.
Take an Abyssal Space for example, who is resposible for it, to whom we may gave feedback? It need changes asap, it will be dead soon.
As RL politician (I googled you) if you want to get things done with who will you talking to? Someone who pull the strings or employee? In that case it doesn’t matter, because players don’t know who to poke around, dev are not assigned to the work they worked before. Said CCP RedDawn (hacking module dev) don’t work on exploration anymore. He was assigned to something else (which is good in so small company but it’s hard when we are talking about the changes to be made based on players feedback).
It doesn’t matter if I have head full of ideas what to change to DED sites for example (like small changes for example DED 4 guristas still have timer build into it - relic from the begining of the game, so you just sitting on site doing nothing) there is no dev that is listen to me, and even if listening they have no time because they do other things. That mean my feedback is insignificant. If it’s insignificant I won’t bother with it, unless it is about future release and 1 month after the release.

Apathy leads to Disappointment,
Disappointment leads to Cynicism.

Oh look, it’s New Eden’s wannabee Sean Hannity
As if anyone outside the US wants to be a host on US TV… I’m guessing you like Sean Hannity, but all I know right now is that he’s someone on Fox TV, which usually gets portrait as television for the simple-minded. You shall have all the entertainment you deserve.
And how you going to change that?
I’m going to change that by making posts in the CSM section by a CSM member that’s not about the election and invite feedback.
Small problems are piling up and won’t be touch because it won’t have enough impact for pulling players into the game. It’s pure marketing, make tasty teaser, release and move into something else. This was CCP module operandi for years.
We’ve had a large number of quality of life improvements, in my eyes, from the jump fatigue changes, to allowing resizing of the UI on 4k screens higher than it was, changes to the scanning windows, and a bunch of other small things.
Are there are things you think haven’t been addressed?
I’ll give you an example how ineffective players feedback is to CCP.
That sounds like an example of player feedback being effective. If you only define player feedback as “responsiveness to 3000 word essays on the official forums” you’re missing something like 90% of the player/dev interactions where these types of changes are made possible. If getting the ear of a Dev at a pub crawl is what gets effective change done, than that’s what we should be doing.
Take an Abyssal Space for example, who is resposible for it, to whom we may gave feedback? It need changes asap, it will be dead soon.
Well, you can start by giving it to me and I can pass it on to the appropriate people. I am not sure if I share your prediction about AS, but I’m interesting in hearing why you think its on it’s deathbed.
As RL politician (I googled you) if you want to get things done with who will you talking to? Someone who pull the strings or employee?
Well, in the beginning I’m going to ask Guard who handles which issues, and then I’ll talk to that specific person once I find out.
there is no dev that is listen to me,
Perhaps, but there are devs who listen to me, since that’s what I was elected for, and I am listening to you. So pass on your ideas and I’ll make sure they get eyes on them.
Here’s the deal - I am not going to promise anybody a specific outcome. The best that I can do is assure people that if I see their post and I think their idea has merit (and sometimes even if I think it’s junk), I will pass it on to the folks who handle those issues for their review. I can’t promise anybody will do anything about it, but you will at least get some attention.
If you care that strongly, then work with me.

I remember a few months back when Devs as a whole promised more interaction on these forums, that soon stopped. So if they “listen” to you, remind them where these forums are.
Just tell the Devs that forum participation is just like bar hopping at fest…instant interaction.
So if they “listen” to you, remind them where these forums are.
I will. I will also remind everybody that they kind of have to work on the game, and the community team is smaller than it was before.
But wait I thought this game was growing? Why would the community department be getting smaller if players aren’t being driven away by the ugliness perpetuated in this game to keep that core group of addicts subscribing on a dozen plus accounts each?
Take an Abyssal Space for example, who is resposible for it, to whom we may gave feedback? It need changes asap
AS is being worked on. Patch notes show fixes. test server threads talk about problems. 10 days ago filaments were removed from test server markets. 2 days ago the filaments you can find in data sites (on the test server) stopped working, and this was reported to be fixed. I think these problems are signs the developer is experimenting with some changes. It’s anyone’s guess if future changes make anyone happy. But these observations say the feature is not abandoned.

Teams change all the time and people come and go. There are very few game development teams working on an active project that’s 15 years old.
So, a game with a growing community would be cutting down on it’s community department. Revolutionary!

You forgot to say “Eve is dying.”
Easy there. First probe if something like this is possible then organize anything. There is nothing more disheartening than high hopes turning into dust. I bet CCP will just told you that there is Little things already and they had no spare hands.

problem is deeper than just filament distribution.
Loot is not good enough to run them and if lose ship replece it (if blinged and it’s a must with higher tiers).
Triglavian hulls are not as good as CCP thinks they are, they are overpriced right now. Who would fly 200 mil frigate?
Another thing is mutaplasmids. They are not consistent in terms of earning ISK. It’s RNG factor (drop the mutagen) and then RNG when we mutate module.
It’s not rocket science that pve need rewards to be done. That is why almost all do pve. It was that since begining of the computer games. There are always pricencess waiting for you at the last castle.
We need to know 2 things. If there are changes to triglavian ships? Is CCP happy with mutaplasmids and if so are they are game changer?
Players do not care about voting for CSM,
They would do real vote:
they would vote with their money ( subscription )
