Dev blog: Moon mining revamped - There’s Ore in Them Thar Moons

NO.

I vote we make NPC corps war decable. Not the new bro corps, but the ones people sit in for years being anti social.

No moon mining in high sec.

Or you could sell your super if you can’t afford a parking spot of it.

Doubt it.

Citadels really don’t provide that much utility relative to the other structure types. Oversized docking is pretty much their “thing”.

Please expand moon mining to wormholes.

Why should wormholers get the shaft?

Thanks!

How are wormholers “getting the shaft?” They don’t have moon mining ITYOOL 2017.

How are WH getting the shaft when they lose absolutely nothing they had before?

Will the moon ore be able to be compressed?

Any news on the Highsec and WH based alternatives for moon mining?

CCP have stated it wont be in high sec and wormholes will get some love in the future . Depending on market reaction depends on how CCP choose to do this

Please add moon mining to wormhole and highsec space or don’t even bother wasting our time. Just skip the moon ore in the other places if that is a balance issue. But moon mining should be cluster wide.

If they wanted to keep the generation of content and rush for ownership alive, CCP might have to instantiate the random moon allocation once a year (ball park figure). That way, they could be rolled and re-owned. However, in doing this, then there is the issue of either CCP de-rigging (and re-crediting them like they have done for T3 Cruisers) or forcing owners to de-rig themselves if they want to re-deploy. It could even be an annual event… Eve Moon Mining Day!

Perhaps randomized, but infrequent, “seismic events” that change moon composition.

“A seismic event has occurred, fracking operations have been suspended. Enter new parameters to continue.”

Initial release??? you mean after 10 years of a broken game mechanic you will fix it? Why release something already broken. Change the “random algorithm” to include everywhere…

Anything nullsec only I do not care about. Stop wasting time on nullsec only features.

Not every release will have stuff for you.

The actual quote was, “We have no problem with this kind of mechanic being added to other area of space”.

The mechanic, not actual moon mining.

I hope to god they don’t allow any kind of this resource AT ALL in hi-sec. Feel free to chew moon rocks for an extra hunk of Veldspar is all hi-sec should be entitled too.

right now, I see no reason to add moon goo to high sec or wormholes.

(This may change in future, but I don’t see it happening yet)

I don’t think moon mining in hi sec is good as stated above.

BUT

limited low value moons in hi could, maybe, drive hi sec content and possibly hi sec Merc services. But, as with any idea, add people and they will find a way to ■■■■ it up, and you will have one or two super entities controlling all of it.

i totes agree with it, but they might have the short sighted logic that the war this event will cause will be a big enough isk sink, but then what? They should add this to wormholes because it gives wormholers the power to flood the market, and as such make the return of inflation happen at a lesser rate.

I am excited but also concerned about the way forward.
I am just hoping they don’t mess it up. I have 8 accounts waiting to find out how this goes. If it goes down the same path as SOV, Citadels etc then it might be time to move on. Just look at this crazy Agency stuff - what the hell were they thinking.

I know the market treads a fine line - but is EVE a space ship fighting game or a stock market game so people can get space rich. Surely if things are cheaper people will play for the fights kill each other, have no issue putting ships on the line. (Yes don’t fly what you can afford to loose BS). But hey IMO the grind to purchase a ship and fit it out to possibly loose it within the first few minutes of a fight is not what people want. So flood the market with minerals and moon goo is what I say - bring it. Make the bottom drop out of the market. Make it so that many people can get involved in all aspects of what EVE has to offer no matter where in space they live. Make it so loot is not in certain parts of space, drone loot available everywhere. All Ice materials available from all parts of space, just do it and then see what happens.

As I read somewhere - quick log in and do stuff is where things are heading not the long grind to get there. I have read that many games within the first few months have lost their player base because of design implementation and game mechanics. Some games up to 75% of the players. EVE has been around for so long because we love the game and we keep holding onto the broken promises.

Lets see what happens. Has been a long time coming (nearly 10 years for some of my accounts).
Time will tell - bring it CCP and make it good.

I wonder what a shattered planet would yield if you mined it just like the moons…

stone, dirt, more dirt? Or shards of sleeper/drifter ships… we might never know

The simple fact of moon mining requiring spaceships will increase the value of highsec ore, due to reduced mining in nullsec of regular ore, ie the only effect an afk miner could possibly care about (money in wallet) will be coming to highsec anyway.

Lastly I expect to be inviting people to come mine with us, and I expect other entities will be as well, so there should also be a nice gold rush of opportunities to find a pleasant nullsec home.
