aye that also just the t2 the faction a single damp puts a scorp (one of the longer locking BBs) at .183km because 99.1% damps exist but ECM is the problem
they can fly out of ecm optimal, or fly further away and get out of its fall off also.
im not trying to play dumb here; I understand what you Mean to say. at least I Think I do.
but ppl are not finishing their sentences or thoughts when expressing frustration with ecm.
SOME of that is because they Kno that IF they did elaborate on their complaint, it would be very obviously fallible. like when someone complained that a machariel with a damp fitted is not able to, effectively halt, a rook @ 100km+. it took 2000 posts in this thread before he fessed up to a core complaint. and its ridiculous on its face, if one only ponder what the complaint Really Means. <<<first group
im sure others are genuinely frustrated, from Real Personal experience, where being jammed was an unpleasant experience and created a Sense of helplessness or inability to continue to affect a battle (ie, heat all the things and be top of the killmail).
in these cases, ive tried to: explain the counters ccp has provided to us via mods/skills/previous nerfs + the few forms of piloting that can help reduce or negate the quality of the jam that is hitting you + emphasise that not only are you Serving a purpose just by absorbing jams (ie bullet sponges of a sort) but you can also spend your time focusing on your own survival, whatever form that may take. in other words, just because a thing Feels a certain way, doesnât Actually make it so. its complaining from a partially uninformed perspective. <<<<2nd group
lastly, jammers have had to watch the platform steadily nerfed over the years, multiple times. its likely the ppl that use jams the most feel the most frustration, collectively and overall, because they share the same âuseless feelingâ when jams fail (usually accompanied by a prompt death), but they also know fully how the platform works, and where it doesnât work. so when they see changes suggested or applied, they know and Feel the effects from an informed opinion, <<<<3rd group whereas the 2nd perspective I mentioned (above) can be the beneficiary of all sorts of ecm nerfs, yet still get jammed in any given scenario and Still FEEL the Same frustration felt prior to whatever changes are applied. the shame of this is that everytime a nerf happens, newbros and ppl that donât follow every line of patchnotes may never become aware of the effective Counters added or adjusted, and thus are That much less likely to ever fit them or use them.
I get it, this is a change that will get the message out loud and clear, through to the 2nd group of ppl. LOOK, we âFIXEDâ ecm! your jammed and cant lock anything and lost lock on aaaalmost everything, but if you can use overview and nail down whatever it is that just landed a jam on you, you can Lock it, mayb, and then you can Kill it! mayb. and, and, you feel better right? right? doesnât this FEEL better??? <<this is again not very likely as we will see damp use explode and ecm use largely collapse; cant wait for that âdamps are OPâ thread. again. will be the same arguments all over again.
while the first group is just getting a nerf that makes their life easier, and they know it and just donât say it for fear that they would be acting against their own self-interest.
theres really no making the 3rd group happy, because ecm is never good enough unless its ec drones!
oh look! another ecm nerf! see man, changes get snuck in all the time that make qol easier, and some cant appreciate it all bc they donât know any better or any different. learn something new everyday. and I take ppls words on things I cba to verify myself in a pinch. will call out if mislead, and I remember!
I spent my entire HS carrier running caldari missions. I never found them to be an issue. a sebo or two always seemed to solve the issue until you were in a BB killing â â â â from 100km+ away
fit a sebo and try again. also, train the compensation skill for your mission ship. take 2 and call me in the morning. if you are flying a ship capable of lvl 4âs you Probly have drones available. use them. if you donât, then try another ship. its very rare that you find a single hull that can perform 100% efficiency in Every Single mission. missions are designed to be the easy mode if there ever was such a thing in eve, to prep you for what you may run into from pvp. I have run plenty of guristas missions and I assure you, lvl 4âs are very doable. you just have to fit accordingly. or adjust your tactics as such. its the game makers trying to teach you how to adapt; its an integral part of being successful in this game tbh.
marine corp is technically navy, but very different lingo. and ship duty is a privilege, generally speaking. not one I partook. I was thining BattleShip, ala BattleCruiser/AttackBattleCruiser etc. weâre talking eve right?
There is a CAREER agent mission where a bunch of mercs damp you down to 5km this however is not a problem as the mission objective is to die. If that doesnât say it all.
losing a ship is never fun ime. tis why I keep trying to point out that feelings is really not what we should be using as a pure basis for âbalanceâ. just about beat this horse to death tho. I digress.
cuz noobs read all the words and walls of texts before they undock in the best ship theyâve ever owned. you know what im saying. some will use whats worked for all the other missions, and they lose it. I Remember that mission, or one very similar. it taught me to read everything! lol guristas missions are Supposed to teach a person how to counter ecm, via necessity. now, the entire npc race will lose its ewar system effectively. I mean that alone should scream âreeeeeâ all by itself imho. then you think of solo, then you think of fleet, and the whole argument just crumbles.
HAHAHAHA, i never thought about how changes will impact the Guristas NPC⌠Indeed, they are totally screwed now
Even fitting a jamming module will mean sure death for any of their shipsâŚ
In a more serious note, i just expect the whining in form up fleets: âwhy ask me to fit a jamming module, anyone in the enemy fleet against whom i use it will be able to shoot meâ :))))
