Devblog: EVE Online: Invasion - The Agency 3.0!

I want the previous Agency view back. I was using it. And then I logged in one day and it was gone and all that was left was a window with tons and tons of options and no direction and I felt paralyzed. The weighted suggestions of the old version were helpful.

I really like the new agency. Congrats CCP for this revamp….

It provides a lot of informations and is very detailed… Maybe too much information some will say?

Yes, they are right. Maybe it will make exploration easier and brings a lot of players in low sec. People who live in those low sec might be annoyed to see newcomers… We will see how it goes after a few weeks…

But this new agency will make eve easier for new players…. And if it brings new players or make the retention of new players better, it is good for CCP, good for EVE and good for all of us… We need new players, we need more interactions, more destruction…. more life in eve…

I started Eve 18 months ago after viewing an add on facebook… Got attracted by the game as soon as I installed it…. I read thousands of pages on Eve University, viewed dozens & dozens of tutorials, videos on YouTube to learn the game… But how many people are like me? are like you all, eve veterans?

The fact is that on 100 people who install the game, maybe less than 5 still play at the end of the first month… How many after one year? So if things are made a little bit easier for newbee, allowing them to be retained on the game, I’mm all for it. And this new agency might be an usefull tool for that…

Rather ironic gesture from him.

Too few and that is why EVE needs to be turned into something that is not EVE. People in the past didn’t need these crutches to enjoy and stay in EVE. People nowadays are just too stupid for this and need to be pampered wherever they go. People like these were not needed in that EVE, that thrived and flourished. People like these are needed in this EVE just to have anyone in space at all.

Talk about framing out of context lol Redit is really good at this :].

Agree with all above! Exploring was fun and unknowing what you could find or what it could award you with. Maby even encounter other players. Iv been on and off the game but i really liked the old explorstion system. Please take notice off this CCP, exploration had a charm to it, dont take that away and bring back the old system of it. Also, agency should not show where there are sigs, otherwize, why would you need a probing/scanning boat?

But is it in fact status quo? [Citation needed]

I thought every WOW customer was casual… since the game itself is casual?

It is now.

Checking market details on an item also finds the item in the browse tab

It stays expanded

You are forcing us to either collapse manualy or scroll through that enormous tree

It also makes the “find group in browse tab” button obsolete

sure wow was never that hard but the vanilla game isnt 100% casual, there are alot of hardcore game elements (like 40man raids, and some pretty hardcore quests and also world pvp) but the game itself was very easy to learn! over the last years and expansions they removed all these hardcore, fun and social elements from the game and it became a boring singleplayer game. u can really do everything in the game solo now and gettin the best items/rares with no effort, there is no more need for communication in the game and that is the reason why so many people quit wow. blizzard did focus the game on the most retard type of players and even some of them are crying that the game is boring lol

vanilla wow was a mmorpg for all types of players. u could play it hardcore but also casual and i think this was one of the reasons why so many people playd and loved it. now the new wow/bfa only focus on the lowest type of casuals and thats why it is losing so many players and one of the biggest reason why we are gettin classic servers now

The Agency new layout is by far the best thing I had seen changed in the game.

The Agents & Missions and the ability to filter my requirements on what i am looking forward in doing with my play time makes this very well put together.

Very pleased to be playing your game.

My review of the new agency:

Pros:

  • It loads faster than the old agency (could still be faster imo)

Cons:
-It seems the goal is for everyone to use the agency as much as possible, while its goal should be to get people out of the agency and playing as fast as possible
-Exploration is dead, it is called scanning now
-I tried going to scan, but gave up after two systems, THE EXPERIENCE IS HORRIBLE, move to syste, open agency, it doesnt remeber the signatures tab, have to click, 90% of the window is useless space, close agency, go to next system, signature is ■■■■, open agency…
-remove signatures and anomalies from the agency, the process is too tedious, and if you really want it for new players, only do it in hisec
-The edges of the agency are too large, wasted space, and i already have 10 windows open, id like to actually see space and my ship
-the relevant information is a small section of the agency that cannot be decoupled, like if the signatures were even in a window i can make as small as the probe scanner it could potentially work, but NOOOOOOO, BIG WINDOWS FOR EVERYONE GET A THIRD MONITOR

too big, too tedious, exploration is dead, fat middle finger CCP, this ■■■■ in combination with ‘QOL’ changes like unreadable purple fleet links is turning me into a real bitter vet, I used to have trust and hope in this company, but wow, were older players right, this game survives despite CCP.

Perhaps you can look up the term: Pareto Improvement
May help you not duck over your existing playerbase.

i tried exploration, the agency makes it more tedious and frustrating

One thing that frustrates me is the options on the context menu are not consistent (which is half the reason you needed the pointer tool in the first place).

If you look at the one from the agency window when clicking a system you get this while clicking the one on the overview you get this

Why not just be consistent?

You realize the Probe Scanner window still works exactly the same way it did before… right?

Yep, which should be the only intel tool regarding signatures.

Not using the agency now is like taking a rupture to fight a muninn.

Get used to it or find a new way to whine about it I guess. :woman_shrugging:

I wont use that pile of ■■■■ but to see the escalations. Where is the star map showing the escatarios? I will keep exploring by now, let see…

This is another tree in the forest of the degradation of the best game of the genere ever. some people do not see the forest, or are so used to ignore it that do not care.

Most of the players here hate the change of the egency, but we are not so angry only for this nonsense, but for the acumulation of nonsense decissions CCP has taken the last few years.

We want the sandbox back

Visually, it looks pretty, but that’s about it.

Functionality-wise, it’s a step back.

I liked the map that was attached to the previous version of the Agency, because that map not only showed me my position, but also where I wanted to go, and I could instantly set a waypoint to my destination and then it would show me my route.

That meant fewer clicks and no need to bring up the main Map in order to plot out a route.

Now, that feature is gone. I now have to open the Agency, check and set the destination, THEN open the Map to see the route. Then if I need to make a change, I need remove the destination, close the map, THEN bring the Agency back up into my view and start the process all over again.

It’s more clicks to do what I used to do…and this annoys the hell out of me.

I find this current version of the Agency to be less efficient than its predecessor.
