I mean i can but @Depopulo_Denuo is pretty salty. I for one am for these changes. Though i would like more explanation on Caracal navy drone buff than changes to slots or bonuses. That and more ecm changes.
This does not sound like a group that is well organized or well-run. If it were well-run, it would find a solution that does not screw over some of the people being led. Like say⦠taking someone elseās space.
And remember, as everyone cries for the big groups to spread out: we were spread out. Aegis pushed us to condense. You know what the map looks like when the big groups spread out?
Do you really want to go back to the days of the real āblue donutā, when 2 blocs controlled the entire map? Right now, we donāt. Thereās a lot of smaller groups able to hold space, and we think thatās good⦠but if forced to⦠yeah, weāll go back to that. Especially since right now, I can go from Efa in the backwater bits of Khanid, all the way around to Fade, in about 10 minutes, without fatigue, without wormholes.
A bit longer and being locked in place, where is the reward for that risk?
@CCP_Falcon
I like the changes to rorqs, but i worry about the unintended consequences to t2 production.
Currently, roquals have been keeping the Moon Metal market pretty stable. But, youāre doing about a 20% nerf to ore yeild The consequence of this is that it will take more to mine the same moon metals than before which will increase moon metal prices.
Perhaps, to keep moon metal markets stable while hitting the mineral market targets, CCP might consider uping moon metal yields while shrinking total ore output to compensate?

You get to lock to extreme ranges and really quickly
Required to be. Aegis requires population density. Itās just a matter of how you make it happen.
As for the supercapital umbrella⦠no. Again, I refer you to our locustfleets: the supercap umbrella moves. The whole damned thing. You just rotate the regions you control, like rotating farmland.
A murader is locked in place for a minute with bastion and fits can easily go 3+ bil and t2 insurance is crap. So wheres the risk in that?
Look at what you are using it for, how much its going to make. Wonāt be as easy to find as a carrier and that takes a pretty high amount of SPs.
What happened we can read aboutā¦
What should have happened:
-
Titans lose HAWs (titans should be shooting capitals only).
-
Fax changes, iāll take a wait and see.
-
Carriers and Super-Carriers i dont know enough about them to comment.
-
Insurance (get rid of it entirely, no real company is going to keep insuring things when they lose more than they make in premiums).
-
Abaddon (making a T1 ship more close in power to the pirate nightmare was a bad move, the nightmare probably already has one of the smallest advantages in power over standard battleships of all the pirate ships and closing this gap even farther will be bad for the already somewhat marginalized nightmare).
-
Caracal Navy Issue: if it needed more power then buffing it some other way, more missile damage, reduced sig radius, etc would have been a better move, the CNI as a purist missile boat was one of its big draws as a ship. It is a buff to gain drones but will it now need nerfed as a missile boat to compensate, I sure hope not.
-
Rorqual:
a. keep shield boosting as is.
b. keep panic resist bonus for non-rorquals at 100% but reduce the bonus on the rorqual to 80% with stacking penalties.
c. Increase the shield size of rorquals by 30%.
d. keep (or increase panic module duration).
e. reduce drones for rorqual to just 2 (down from 5) and reduce the combined yield of two rorqual drones to be equal to 150% of fully implanted, full trained, fully buffed hulk (so that a solo rorqual miner is still making more ISK / HR in a rorqual but is risking more by doing so and reducing the benefit of rorqual stacking.
f. As others have stated, make it impossible to have more than a few rorquals in a single anom, largest perhaps have up to four and smallest only have two.
What I hope to accomplish with these changes:
- Titans arenāt the solution to every problem.
- faxes, again wait and see.
- carriers i dont understand enough to comment.
- Insurance companies would go out of business given the lose more than they make so remove insurance from game, this also decreases ISK pool.
- Abaddon competing so well with nightmare isnt a good idea (as explained above).
- Caracal as pure missile boat was awesome adding drones makes it less interesting as it becomes more like most missile boats with 5 drones (i.e. homogenization rarely benefits game choices).
- Rorqual:
a. make rorqual have to fight for its own survival and make it better at doing this (some numbers would probably need adjustments up or down to find the sweet spot for this).
b. Retain ability to protect smaller ships.
c. reduce the potential losses due to rorqual drone deaths/Thefts by reducing the number of rorqual drones fielded from five to just two and decreasing the cost of those drones by 50% to further reduce the impact of lost drones.
d. Capping the number of rorquals in an anom by size so that group rorquals can help protect one another under the new ārorquals protect themselves better but receive less benefit from the panic module metaā, that i proposed, while hard capping the ability to rorqual stack in such anoms.
e. Reduce income of rorquals to 150% of hulk reduces the desire to stack rorquals because using the rorqual as a boost ship and stacking exhumers and barges starts to become a more attractive option.
f. Retain a significant measure of benefit for someone wanting to only mine in a single rorqual because it still out mines any other ship and has ore compression and huge ore bay to further separate the actual mining benefit of rorquals over mining in a single mackinaw for instance. Also, reduce the financial losses from lost drones. Also, increase the ability of rorquals to defend themselves makes mining in a rorqual in areas with little or no umbrella more attractive.
Show me a course of action that wouldnāt.
The abaddon even with the buff will not be competing with the nightmare, it still has more than enough advantages
The nightmareās advantage over standard battleships is probably one of the weakest for a pirate ship vs a standard battleship (the machariel is a huge advantage vs maelstrom as an opposing example).
Can you also remove Cyno from gates and bring old pvp back?
if you do that i subscribe for 10 years
9 months later ⦠oh boy
moon goo I can do 500 mil to a bil if it has the right type of ore
reg ore I can do up to 500 mil if I can go mine for an hour uninterrupted
all depends on system and traffic for mining
considering basic pvp mechanics have changed very little your going to need to be more specific than that
I like everything the way it is, and why mess with mining? ya the rorqs mine very well and they are also a huge investment for the little guys that sneak out and mine their moons in low sec⦠risk vs reward enough of this every kid gets a trophy crapā¦put the nerf back in its safe space. mining is going by the way of abyssal sites as it is give the new indy pilots a goal besides keeping it boring. Excavators and rorqs sell a lot of plex good for ccp and all that ore turns into shipsā¦that the homicidal maniacs like to use and blow upā¦oh and buy plex to buy more. thatās a happy ending for everyone.
ccp could use their time making better and expanding the mission running side of EVE, a lot of us cannot stand pos spinning in the goons or severance to name a few waiting for a fight. CCP is doing some cool stuff , why I came back after a year off but since the abyssal fail they are getting strange again. sorry for the rant take it for what it is. Loveā¦Von
Its not justified that a nsa blocks you from warping of and that you need to sit there for minutes and wait to die. Cause the nsa is still running. Way to heavy nerf
What are you smoking m8? you compare a 10 bil setup to a 300 mil one?
Not to mention the fact that you are trapped in place for 5 minutes, and half of the ship cost can be blown up if not carefull in less than a minuteā¦
And what about the months of training? Iāve even extracted all skill points from exhumer alts to be able to inject them in roqualsā¦they are completely different skill plans.
And donāt know if you are mining or not but rorqs average 100mil/h and boosted hulks around 50-60 so they barely double the isk a hulk is making for 33 times the priceā¦
When CCP started producing MERs, I was excited.
Now they finally intervene.
Well, according to quantity theory of money, MV=PY, where:
M = money supply
V = velocity
P = price level
Y = end product output measured in base year prices
Money supply will strictly decrease with reduction of cap ratting capabilities.
The effect on velocity is unknown, I assume it to be ambiguous.
So, the right-hand side of equation must decrease, Y, P or both.
Simultaneously, the patch nerfs Rorqualsā solo capabilities, therefore decreasing mineral yield for a short period, until players rebalance their mining assets to include barge fleets with boosting command ships (as Rorquals should have been by initial design, nothing to cry about there). Then the yield will return to its previous level to sustain production needs. And the main thing isā¦
That the price level will drop. Maybe considerably, maybe not, that is why CCP will closely monitor the situation in upcoming months.
Nonetheless, the sharpness of the price drop will be offset by simultaneous short-term decrease in output.
Gradual price level reduction will not discourage manufacturers in the short term, as sharp one would (since many input prices will be constant for a time), so itās another win.
And yes, at last PLEX prices will go down to be more affordable for players doing everything other than running null.
CCP has already tried to balance supply-side by splitting PLEX, making PLEX vault, making RL PLEX discounts and introducing skins into the game (NES introduces a little bit more PLEX than needed for skins to the game, so it goes to the market).
It failed, since it became clear that PLEX inflation is demand-pull with speculations and excessive demand. And now the demand-side will be fixed by nerfing the largest faucet in EVE in conjunction with bot-hunting and insurance reduction.
Though sharp capital balance changes may be tough for some pilots till the prices drop, I must say:
Well done.
