I believe the intent of CCP was to promote subcaps alongside capital fleets. So capitals are not the trump card for everything and have a additional weakness. Although dreads will still have HAW guns.
Some day I will fly a capital other then jump freighter and rorqual. But for now I dont have alot of experience to be for or against this change.
That was just my feedback is all Iâm saying. I think trying to defend it is pointless as others are going to have their own point of views.
Personally I hope the CSM read the feedback here and see that this wasnât the magic wand they thought it was going to be.
I felt like it was important to post because from some of the comments it was looking like the overall perception was this was a good thing but hopefully they will see the other side and other point of view as well.
I get it they read the reddit.com/r/eve and all they saw was a cry to nerf Rorqs. So hopefully now they see that there were players who were happy with the way Rorqs were.
So to the CSM - just because you saw a âlargeâ outcry to change the game in this way doesnât mean that was the voice of the majority of players.
Please think of the other side of the coin when you propose changes to CCP. Balancing what a Nerf does is extremely important. Just making large scale changes for the negative without adding any sort of positive changes will always lead to alienation of a percentage of your player base.
I advise CCP to reconsider these upcoming changes. The balance should aim to big(6000 player) fights. Not single ratting/mining capitals as they are already as risky to fly as possible. Also check the killboards. There are already dozens of solo capitals lost to gank fleets each day.
Networked Sensor Array lock is a bad idea. Please donât do it.
But there was a positive. and its a positive I like very much as it makes my hulks that much more awesome.
The real change I am hoping for is server stability in large fights. They keep doing things that are suppose improve large fight performance but really I do not see any tangible benefits to any of it.
1 - Your greed was in wanting enjoyment of the game. You have a selfish desire for enjoyment. That is what greed is.
2 - You only get salvage from salvaging? You are talking about looting modules and reprocessing that? Yes you do get some ore but the amount of ore is extremely small.
3 - You agreed with me so we are cool here.
4 - Never said I was special. You said I felt entitled, I explained why I wasnât entitled.
probably a data cut off that should have been not included in the graph.
And I wonder what for fight will ever have that much logi landing reps on the same target.
If that was their original intent they should not have given capitals the ability to apply to subcaps without support. HAW guns, Dromis, Sirens, light fighters, all that should go. A super by itself might apply as much damage to subcaps as 1 DPS cruiser. A super with a Huginn to web and paint for it applies as much as 5 DPS cruisers. That would be an actual, balanced force multiplier.
Why would I ever take a carrier over a subcap in that situation? Because with the right support that 1 guy in a carrier applies as much damage as 3-4 DPS cruisers would. Without the right support he applies less than 1. Thatâs a meaningful role for capitals that complements subcaps rather than making them obsolete.
Maybe they regret letting caps do that and are now backing it up a bit. There is a saying about hindsight and also about good intentions. Back then it probably seemed like a good idea at the time.
but I also dont think they should go all the way back and make capitals totally defenseless with subcapsâŚThey seem to just want to shift the balance a little in one direction without going to the opposite extreme. I dont know if its the right change as I am not a pilot of those sort of ships.
I think itâs exactly the middle ground that theyâre looking for. Theyâll be defenseless agianst subcaps under some circumstances and a potent force multiplier under other circumstances. All thatâs changing are the circumstances. Do you have subcaps on grid to support you or not?
I really donât see any other role for capitals to have that isnât either completely useless or completely dominating the field like they do now. All the application and ewar stuff goes to subcaps while capitals provide the raw DPS that they can project pretty much over the entire grid. Both needing to work together to make the most of each otherâs strengths.
+5 pg for the corax is not so much as a buff, unlocking the damage could work better (or some speed).
And no updates on the ECM rebalance and The Griffin Navy situation?
THE CHANGES TO THE VNI WERE SO NOT NEEDED. THESE NERFS ARE RESIDENTSLEEPER AND THE CREEPY LOOKING DUDE THAT KEEPS HUNTING ME IN MY DREAMS IS ALL OVER THE BOTTOM OF YOUR DEV BLOG. PLEASE REMOVE THIS. MY KIDS PLAY THIS GAME !!
Nope. Never died to one. Killed many. How you ask?
The very capital escalations that people like you are screeching about that lead to situations like this update.
Dreadnoughts should be siege engines. Carriers are the capital hull designed for anti-subcapital support. This is really simple. Let the hulls do what theyâre meant to do and stop trying to force everything in the ship tree to be able to kill everything else in the ship tree.
If I catch your dread out solo roaming with my eight man cruiser gang, you should be in trouble.
If I catch your carrier out solo roaming with my eight man cruiser gang, I should be in trouble.
Right now with HAW and fighter-nerfs plus this proposed NSA-to-siege thing, that model is completely upside down.
But judging by your (overly abundant) posting on this thread, youâre the type of person who thinks you should have an automatic win button. Likely affiliated with a blob group somewhere and adverse to anything that disrupts your superiority complex. Possibly though you just lost your favorite subcap and youâre absolutely upset to the point of logging into the forums more than the actual game. Iâm not one to discount the idea of fundamental attribution error.
I encourage you to share your actual thoughts anyway. The repetition of these issues may have some influence on revisions before we are all subjected to them.
The blobs may be numerous, but the unaffiliated still outnumber them.
