Devblog: Updates to Sales Taxes & Brokers Fees

That’s just fk’d up. Instead of an objective standing that you can earn, it becomes 100% subjective and blackmail. Well done fools, well done.

Wow.

But if Broker fees increase and TTT increases, the net result will be a loss in isk made from PLEX through increased NPC tax or increased titheing?

Sorry, still a bit new to marketeering.

When you trade in Upwel structures, Broker’s Fee goes to the corp that owns that Upwel Structure (and it is not affected by skills or standings), so it isnt an ISK sink.

Yeah I know. The loss I mean is from the increased tax rate/broker’s fee.

If a rise in percent of that fee doesnt bite into current projected profits, I need to check what Ive missed.

Generally increase in tax/fees does nothing to profits - the buyer carries the burden of it. The only thing that will happen is:
players who buy plex for $ will get less ISK (if they sell to buy orders) because of higher tax.
players that buy plex for ISK will have to pay more ISK because traders will increase the prices accordingly to new taxes (bake them in the price).

That should be true for all the things traded via market - the prices will rise.

Thats ok, I did think about it right. Ill just have to wait longer and hope for a higher rise.

apparently failbaddon the armless is in charge now. did you hire the fall of cadia writers too?

This will have 2 large impacts.

First, the increased transaction tax will sink trillions of ISK each month since it applies to every transaction - including those in Citadels.

Second, Alpha characters can’t train Accounting so they will get hit for the full 5% which should kill Alpha market bots.

I suspect the skills will change, particularly for Broker Relations but we’ll find out when it hits - probably downtime tomorrow - welcome to the chaos era!

Yet was the keyword.

People could have taken what happened with the blackout as an example

And kill any profit for alpha players that aren’t actual bots.

Why every time CCP claim that they fight with bots, biggest hit gets normal players?

Does Skillshare have a course in how to skip the actual comprehension of something and go straight to being a hyperventilating forum drama queen?

I blame Twitter for you lot.

I like the new CCP. They are far more effective at harvesting tears than I ever was.

Ill get mine out of the way now;

Im glad I bought last night when I did!

There, done

If concord gets paid more what do the tax payers get in return? You could say that because they are getting paid more concord should eliminate gankers, but don’t gankers pay taxes as well? If there are no new services or improvements to the existing concord services then why raise taxes? This doesn’t seem like a good idea.

So the new taxes will go to help pay for the defense of New Eden…
Does Concord intervene when whatever new flavor of npc attacks?
There is no Concord in low or null sec, why exactly would we have to pay a tax? I am fairly certain all the npc stations in npc null are owned by well…npc’s.
As far as alpha characters having to pay the full tax, I couldn’t care less, they should get nothing beyond a 30 day trial and if they choose not to subscribe show them the door until they do subscribe.
Do the npc mining fleets have to pay a tax? I mean they strip every system bare and have no overhead?
Are the npc mining fleets nothing more than sanctioned bots operated by CCP to RMT under the table?
I personally DO NOT CARE about the new tax rates one way or the other, it’s a freaking game after all. Originally CCP declared there would never be a way of allowing real money to have any opportunity to be used in game because it would have polluted the sandbox. I feel like the primary reason for the null sec blackout is that CCP can’t get it’s act together on a stable chat server and the new tax rate has something to do with isk being converted into real money, but I am definitely not the brightest bulb or the sharpest knife by any means. Dotar doesn’t do math.
At the end of the day I’m just a poor working stiff trying to chill out in the evening with my tea and Eve, I have enough “chaos” in real life. I can’t help but think the inmates are now running the asylum. If we get too much more of a sense that the powers that be at CCP have forgotten that we as subscribers are paying for everything, they may find out the chaos of looking another job.

Tax increase to defend New Eden??!? What do those mother flies in Concord do against the Triglavians, Drifters, Blood Raider Iron Punishers, or any other NPC punk? NOTHING!

All they do is change the signs on the Stargates to some jibberish Triglavian symbols so our sphincters will tighten up before the jump into crazytown. The Tri’s are on way too much frentix, mindflood, drop or crash or whatever obscene crap they take to hop around the systems like a bunch of killer locusts 24/7.

Everyone calmly discusses this as an economic event, but it’s a stinking scam! Those blue baboons floating around stargates are as useless as a corvette in an Abyssal site. Unless, of course, you happen to have some drugs or slaves dropped as loot and cross into the wrong sovereignty. Then you get fined mightily, thank you very much…

Hey Concord, why don’t you pop those punks on the Niarja gates before they ruin an honest capsuleers’ day, instead of showing up after the fact? They already got negative security status anyway, so what gives??? Don’t you keep records like any other police force???

I don’t mind paying taxes, but don’t pass this off as Concord’s increased defense costs, I haven’t seen them yet in a Triglavian system. I bet they’re all back in the stations shining their stinking badges and laughing their lazy butts off…

they should make tax for reseling plexys like 30%. you can sell it normal first time after buy from ccp, then new owner need to pay huge tax. eve repaired - no more not working ■■■■ from ccp.

Why that would make Plex less attractive so people would buy less. Costing CCP money.

not true - now plex is only mashine for speculants - it should not work that way. It should be used to gain ISK for whales or buy game time using isk.

Its a never ending cycle. riglavians, Drifters, Blood Raider Iron Punishers etc. invade, CONCORD hire more officers, more officers means more doughnuts, more doughnuts means more expense, so they need to raise taxes to fund the doughnuts but higher taxes means that the doughnuts cost more.

So next time you buy or sell anything just think you are protecting New Eden, one doughnut at a time.
