That works better if you do it as @CCP_Falcon @CCP_Hellmar
Aside from trolling itâs base I suspect CCPâs real goal was to drive up the numbers on people visiting the forums and posting and CCP figured out the nerve to hit⊠No one likes taxes in real life and jacking them up in the game in a way that literally will only benefit structure owners etc while adding nothing kind of seems to do it.
How about laying off CONCORD since they wonât fight trig invasion rats or incursion rats or belt rats or sleepers (etc etc) or cutting their response down to emergency calls only per the PANIC BUTTON for hisec thread?
And while youâre at it lower the taxes accordingly and use them to fix that sinkhole a few blocks down the road that swallows the garbage truck?
said it bevore âSeason of skillsâ buy plex to get more isk and shipsâŠ. thats says it all. they whant to remove isk and stuff and then they sell plex so you can get moreâŠ.
A tail of two cities (both are about the same size and both started out fairly poor)âŠ
I lived my formative years in a city that was relatively poor when we moved there but had reasonable taxation polices which lead to a huge police force and low crime, huge fire department and excellent infrastructure. The police force, fire department and infrastructure spending paid off because it attracted more and more economic development and now the city has raised its fortunes to moderate status by California standards (homes run from 350,000 for aged homes to millions for new homes on large plots).
I currently live in an anti-taxes city, we have torn up streets, an insufficient police force, a grossly insufficient fire department and poor economic growth since our infrastructure is not sufficient to attract economic development.
So, Iâll tell you what people that like taxes think, that having a good infrastructure, and having solid support systems is better for everyone and the result of people that hate taxes is inevitable, they donât pay for services and infrastructure even when they must for their own quality of life (infrastructure / economic development) and their own safety (police, fire dept, military, etc).
[ If you are wondering why I donât just move back to my childhood city it is because my income making years occurred when the city was relatively cheap to live in and now that it is moderate by California standards I cannot afford the homes and other cost of living prices of that city. Even though my entire family and many of the other âold familiesâ of the city have been economically forced out of the city, I still would not want that city to have taken any other path than it took. ]
p.s. I would love to see the city I currently live in stop its anti-taxes ways and prosper because the time-frame it would take to economically force me out of the city would probably take decades longer than I have remaining to live. The city I currently live in has potential upon potential upon potential to become an economic powerhouse but as long as the anti-taxes majority keep voting every tax vote the city proposes down, the cities fortunes will at a best hold stable and at worst bring the city to economic collapse.
And onto the topic at handâŠ
Brokers Fees should be based, in part, off how long an item is put up for sale and changing the price of an item should not reset the duration of the items sale length.
Also the brokers fee associated with changing the price of an item should be based off a percentage of the asking price and not a standardized fee.
Lastly, .01 Isk price bumps should be eliminated in favor of a minimum increase based off a percentage of the asking price of the item. So, perhaps items costing a mllion isk or less can be bumped by .01 Isk but items costing a billion ISK might require say 10,000 Isk to bump the price.
That doesnât make sense. all those plexes in game are paid for with real money.
pssst. You missed the sarcasm. It was directed at the people who think all taxes are automagically ebul.
Opps, sorry sarcasm isnt always the easist thing to pick up on on the internetâŠlol.
AnywaysâŠ
My beliefs both in RL and in-game have been expressed at least.
I think this link is appropriate here
How exactly are you imagining CCP are taking a fictional currency inside a game - a currency I might add they can spawn, delete and move around at will - and somehow âgetting more money from the playersâ from it? Itâs an isk sink. The only place that isk goes is oblivion. Even if it somehow went into a CCP corporation in the game, itâs still an imaginary damn currency that, again, they could have just spawned however and whenever they wish anyway, and doesnât translate out of the game.
Thatâs somewhere around 1.25 monthly paychecks for me, that. You spent that on PLEX?
Suddenly things are becoming somewhat clearer. You have so little grasp of value and money that you canât even fathom how imaginary currencies work, much less real ones.
Thank you for being one of those dim arses that stuff CCP wallets for us. Damn.
I thought I was a whale splurging on Firewall Breach skins and the original monocle.
I have to agree with Mizhara.
I played Eve for several years while studying mathematics. I used my spare time to grind the isk to keep my â â â â plexed. There was no income in real life I could have had as convinient as isk ingame. Ratting, mining with several toons whenever I feel like it was better and more efficient than working shitty jobs and buy plex.
Now I am done with my studies for quite a while, got a job in my field and shelling out for some plex a month doesnât even make a difference. The mindless grind in eve is way more annoying and less efficient than just doing a couple additional hours at work.
Iâm sick and tired of CCP.
Triglavian invasion is too much of a hassleâŠ
Tax increase? Youâre kidding. Iâm done. I need time other than Eve Online.
As someone that still hasnât figured out what my NPC corp taxes fictitiously go to (no FNA response fleet has ever warped to my rescue when I get jumped in a belt like those lucky NPC mining corps have), I am somewhat curious how this new tax is going to represent itself in the game. Faster CONCORD response times? More gate guns? A shiny new monument in some lowsec system honoring the first player to solo the World Ark? Do tell, CCP, do tell.
And on this note, I do feel like this new age of introducing mechanics changes via RP/lore faffery is vaguely annoying, if only because then we get this.
NPC taxes are just an ISK sink. They go into a blackhole. Thatâs fine, and you already know that.
Itâd be fine if the following devblogs would actually explain the intentions behind the mechanics changes. You know, so people didnât have to go and use up their entire townâs supply of tinfoil trying to figure out WTF is going on, and why it wonât actually do what CCP thinks itâll do.
Ca devient dĂ©bile ce jeu aprĂšs le black out !, un coup de chance que jâai dĂ©cidĂ© dâarrĂȘter , bon je le dis en Français , tout le monde sâen fou !
CCP Zulu never left and he needs more ISK to buy pants, is my theory.
Edit:
And if anyone still has that cartoon floating around, please send it my way.
This outrage is incredible. I think people hear âtaxesâ and immediately their brains break. Do the math. The difference is quite small. If you think the poor alphas arenât going to sub because their fictional taxes on pretend money went up 2.5% you are delusional. Stop arguing in bad faith ffs
Your right, sorry for being apart of the arguing troll banter.
What I love is the theoretical economic rollercoaster. raise taxes. prices go up, prices go up, people top buying, people stop buying , prices go down. pretty simple until you add PLEX to the equation
PLEX price goes up. people have less isk (because of other changes) so they cant afford to PLEX accounts. do they unsub or go alpha or buy PLEX with cash? no one knows that answer We can only speculate that CCP considered this along with the isk sink effect. guys in our comms are thinking that they hope it will lead to more cash PLEX purchases. but again, pure speculation.
Honestly this is amazing. Highsec with blackout âYEHA TOO KUCH MONEY â â â â NULL IM COMING FOR YOU NULL! CRY MORE KRABS UR ALL BOTSâ
Hisec gets an equally oppressive bitch slap by CCP that also affects newer players much harsher than rich guysâŠ
âWtf is this how could you ccp this is impossible to playâ
Pick a side.
(and ccp do wormholes and lowsec/npc null next so i can see the âhtfuâ crowd show their true colors)
