Quoted for truth. EVE is literally spreadsheets in space. I actually enjoyed designing planetary interaction production facilities and manufacturing interesting stuff and built spreadsheets to help me model it all. Keeping it all running, less so, the mental challenge has been passed. Then I’m left with a choice, work for real money or work for ISK. Real money wins every time especially since I can convert a small amount of it into a lot of in game money.

Totally agree with you there. Instead of raising the transaction tax only on NPC stations, raise the minimum transaction tax on POS market hubs as well. Previously, the maximum incentive of switching from Jita to TTT (or another POS before TEST blows it up) was anywhere from 1.0% to 0.5% decrease in transaction tax. Now the incentive is increased, potentially as much as 2.25%. If the minimum transaction tax at an NPC station is 2.25%, make the minimum transaction tax at a POS in empire space to be 1.25%. You could keep the minimum POS transaction tax in null-sec at 0.0%. That just preserves the status quo while increasing the ISK sink. I suppose if you wanted to encourage more people to anchor POS market hubs in low-sec, you could make the minimum POS transaction tax in a LS hub slightly lower, say 1.00%.

But the current system just incentivizes movement from Jita to TTT by increasing the possible savings from transaction tax and that just puts more money in the pocket of TEST.

Knew there was a reason for this.

Eve Online players truly like to whine a lot.

When new players are complaining about autistic people gate or hub camping for 10+ hours per day, null players are like “Eve is not a safe game, learn to play”.

But when they remove local chat the carebears in null go like: “wE NeEd LoCaL ChAT tO pLaY”

Learn to adapt and stop being bad at the game.

I’m baffled by these changes. I don’t understand what CCP is trying to do. They don’t say why the changes are taking place in the devblog.

Win Win for the upwell market monopolies

Seriously?

Your propaganda banner is not improving this news in any way.
Please up the skill benefits, so maxing those skills actually matters more for Omegas.

Last time I checked that’d still be one step forward, nothing wrong with that. Take one step back first if you like, then 2 steps forward for more feeling of momentum in the “right” direction there.

Getting people to value the trade skills category more seems like an added side benefit, why not? I have all my mains at L4 on both those skills, was waiting for charisma remap for command ships training to up 'em to L5… glad that day is nearly at hand for me so I can get the 5th and final boost to those tax/fee reductions soonish.

i think after a while of broke faith great alliances will become even greater , ccp underestimates the will of ppl to play together defending their stuff, in the long run i can foresee large alliances of industrialist-trader-soldiers refusing to take in common pvpers…

Highsec should pay increased taxes, both for CONCORD security, and to null sec entities.

Goonswarm should implement a missioning and mining tax, in addition to CODE.'s efforts. Only then will highsec be really secure.

I totally agree with you. What I would like to see is some explanation from CCP why propping up large alliances running POS market monopolies is a good thing. Don’t they make enough ISK already? It’s not like TEST has to build a new keepstar every month because they keep getting blown up.

the transaction tax isnt 0% anywhere.

It is currently 1% in a player structure. It is 2.25% after the changes

You haven’t read the blog.

This would be the second increase in taxes that I have lived to see in the game. I don’t remember when the first one was , but iirc it was made to encourage players in using citadel markets. With this second one you are giving even more to the nullsec powerblocks that control the markets in highsec via citadels.
It won’t fix current inflated market prices , it won’t fix PLEX price and ofc it will hurt mostly … the new player.
I’m sorry CCP, but this time I don’t see how this can be beneficial for the game.

Only for t1 ships. For t2/t3/pirate/etc… even platinum won’t really get you anything back.

I have and the ‘increase’ is a joke and in no way countering the effects of their proposed change.

it hurts more those who spent a metric crap ton of time to 10.0(true one, without social skills) Faction and Corp standings on their market characters.

Why should it counter the change if intention of the change is to increase ISK sink?
