Devblog: Vexor Navy Issue and Alpha Clone Drone Skill Changes

It’s still a set back for your char even if they reimburse those skill points.
EULA is never above the law.
You cannot take money for a product and later take the paid-for product away again. Period.

There will always be negative feelings toward all Alphas from Omegas that subbed for 10yrs or more. We never had the option to not PLEX our accounts. Those feelings won’t change, Alpha accounts were a massive middle finger to long playing pilots.

It’s really unique to the EVE player base that some of you literally enjoy being treated like dirt as a customer and somehow delude yourself into thinking if you would just suck it up it would somehow make you tough. :joy:

Thank you.

So, you are saying that these crazy Alpha players are so good that you can’t compete and they must be nerfed to maintain game balance? Really? That is your argument? If it were my argument, I think I’d just quietly keep it to myself and just pretend that I’m able to compete with Alphas.

thats taken directly from the TOS

I know where its from. I am saying that the conditions of nerfing have not been met. It is not required to remove those skills to maintain game balance. The other condition is that it will enhance game play, which removing a skill cannot ever do. So, how does this part of the TOS apply to this circumstance? Simply, it does not. Is there another part of the TOS that does apply? If so, please post a quote and show me.

I am not saying Alphas should have those skills, I’m saying CCP is unable to use that part of the TOS to remove the skills.

god forbids that they actually have to work though…

how about this, alpha’s were given premature access to pirate and naval ships… they shouldn’t have been given access to them at all.

You are confusing “may cause setbacks for your character” - ie may have an effect in game-play terms - with the potentially fraudulent sale, for real money, of items marketed deliberately by CCP, then, after sale, nullified.

I do hope you are not CCP’s lawyer…

But they were given access… If they want to reverse that, then reverse it for new alphas maybe, but taking it away from current alphas that already trained it is just wrong, and not in compliance with the TOS

Easy solution, nerf all the old ships and make new ones with Omega access only. No TOS/EULA/Legal issues.

Can’t nerf all the old ones? Buff the Omega only ships and every NPC in game.

Welcome EVE 2.0 - lmao (sorry couldn’t resist repeating that one)

That could be done… maybe not ethically, but it would not violate TOS. The bigger problem that you create when you do that is that the poor guy who is so overwhelmed when starting the game just got even more overwhelmed.

New players are NOT the problem. It’s the others abusing what Alpha was created for.

I’d love it if @CCP_Falcon would address this specifically. This problem will only get worse. @CCP_Falcon please kick anyone you need to at your corp offices in the rear ends. Ignoring it is not recommended. Nerfing ships is not a solution.

FYI - @CCP_Falcon not coming down on you. I just know you as one of the most hard working (for pilots) employees at CCP. Kinda picking on you because you get stuff done. We all love you!

You now have skills which are no longer available to Alphas. Want to use them? Subscribe. Either that or stop bitching about something that you get for free…

The VNI change is a straight buff. There’s just no denying it. I only hope they can look at some of the other navy cruisers that need a little love, specifically the Caldari, when was the last time you saw a navy Caracal in a fight?

I have been what we now call an omega subscriber since before the introduction of alphas. However, I also enjoy playing with alphas, and have spent real money to raise their skills above 5M SP - money that CCP has been very happy to pocket, but now wants to steal back the product they sold me.

For pity’s sake, please read the thread before posting offensive comments. No one is complaining about things they got for free - they are complaining about things for which they paid real cash. And as I have said before, demanding a second payment to allow them to be used is legally more than questionable.

There is a simple answer for CCP - rather than disabling the nerfed skills, reallocate the points.

That is a messy issue. Skill point reallocation would not be a valid solution, not to mention legal issues. They could refund the points to be used elsewhere but not put them there.

We may be agreeing violently - I mean add them back as unallocated points, a bit like the ones gifted from time to time (as indeed they are at the moment).

But frankly, happy with almost any solution that does not say “pay a second time to use the points you bought the first time from us.” Which is their current plan.
