You are basing your whole argument on ownership, where there is no ownership, other than the structure itself. It’s not their moon.
No, I’m basing my whole argument on the basic social structure of transactions. You pay for something to be done, you have a reasonable expectation that it will be to your benefit.
You pay for your refinery. You don’t pay for the asteroid field, since again those cannot be owned.
It has benefits, you get to decide when the extraction occurs.
About freaking time! I’ve always stated WARDEC’s were a wreck and proposed two changes:
Objectives that clearly state a victory or loss condition in a WARDEC.
WARDECs should never be used as griefing tools to extort small mining corps.
The changes last December and the planned changes up to May 2019 addresses these points to my miner/industrialist satisfaction!
You pay for the asteroid field to exist. I can put down a refinery and not put a laser on it, cockblocking anyone else who wants to mine there, just fine.
And why do you do that?
maybee just arrive in 2019 miningmeta? its only yours if its in your hangar
(well this was the mining meta since ever)
just make it so refineries get to shoot things in their asteroid field XD
Moon mining has nothing to to with wars, so please stay on topic.
Strictly, it’s not mine at all. It’s CCP’s. It’s all just database entries in their server farm.
But, once we start getting inside the game, you’ve never been responsible for the creation of ore belts in the past, so appealing to ‘since forever’ is kind of misleading, isn’t it?
Not entirely true. One of the issues raised back in December was that the shift to structure-reliant wars means you can’t wardec people who come to steal ore from a moon-belt you fracked. People who run refineries in HS are still looking for some way to protect their investment. As of right now, you can’t, unless the ‘thieves’ have a structure in space.
No… Again you don’t pay for the asteroid field. You use your refinery (which is yours), to exploit the moons resources. But you haven’t bought the moon.
Again, not sure why you argue this. CCP has made their statement, I asked for some clarification, but have been ignored. With no response, we can only assume that what has been said before by CCP is what their stance is on the issue.
You do pay for the asteroid field. Your money is what runs the service module. You push the button to eject the chunk from the moon. Absent your effort and isk, there is no asteroid field.
Why do you set up cloning bays in citadels, markets, etc. etc. You provide services with Service Modules.
and with all those service modules you get to decide who can use them, who can benefit, the moon mining module is the only one you can’t do that with
With the assumption that those services will be to my benefit—if only because I collect the fees.
If there were an automatic tax you could levy (the value, after all, is tracked in the refinery’s ledger), the whole problem disappears.
And you can deny access or charge for those.
Correct, you get to decide who uses the moon drill.
and you should get to decide who can use the results of the moon drill, the same way I get to decide what happens to the results of the market (fees)
At this point, I think it’s pretty obvious Sade there isn’t actually looking to discuss the issue in any semblance of good faith.
Not according to CCP. You cannot own moons or asteroids.
Again, not sure what you guys are arguing about and getting angry at us for. CCP has made their statement, we are just telling it as it is.
I even posted a very early post in here asking for clarification from CCP on this issue, but has fallen on deaf ears (and gotten flamed a few times for it, cause people think I’m some carebear HS miner).
Maybe it’s time to direct that eager for discussion towards CCP.
