Devblog: War, War Sometimes Changes

x to doubt

What this change is really about:

Donā€™t forget all the people who said that a structure solution to the WarDec problem would never happen!

No matter who I am

Everyone has some alter ego in the game of altsā€¦ thatā€™s why Iā€™m just surprised why so much ganking alts crying about wardec changesā€¦in high sec, when actually rest of new eden is empty?

and thats all

Did you just post your own reddit thread onto the forums in a sad attempt to get it more attention?

How about having a window pop up in a moon belt when a player not associated with the structure activates a mining laser that states:

"You are mining in a belt claimed by xyz corp. You have 2 options:

  1. Continue as is and incur a Suspect Tag at the end of each mining cycle, or
  2. Agree to pay a tithe of r x% (determined by CCP, not the corp) which will be automatically deducted at the end of each cycle and deposited in the refinery.

Your decision will effect all mining cycles as long as you remain in the belt. You can change your answer every time you warp back in and begin to mine."

This allows the raiding miners to still get ore with them deciding how much greed are they willing to give into. Risk a response from a corp who just may respond in force or try to intimidate an afk/ less aggressive one. The refinery corp still gets some of the belt that is ā€œhijackedā€ by the raiders, but canā€™t change the % tithe. They still lose out of the bulk of the stollen ore.The actions of one too aggressive raider who doesnā€™t offer the tithe doesnā€™t effect the rest of the raiding fleet that does. Other system dwellers may hang around belts looking for pilots turning suspect, turning themselves into free belt guard mercenaries. The raiders could design bait ships such that a lone mining laser or mining drone on an otherwise all offensively based build waits for someone to engage them (shades of can flipping). More content for all.

Anyway, back to Warā€¦

well i for my part kostly pay 10% of the ā€œstolenā€ ore without any need to the ref ownerā€¦ i dont think this kind of stuff is realy needetā€¦ there are lot of moonbelts never mined and the few who maybee find them should pay for it? no no no

and you sure can bump miners without bumping the roidsā€¦ you can even just cross all streams and mine the roid he is on faster as one can doā€¦ you can talk to the miner about a fee about joining your corp your alliance your coalition about standings and sure you can smacktalk with him or offer ore buyback. you can close your structures so he cant refine or compress you can talk to the others in the system to do the same. A LOT of playerinteraction besides from shooting each other is involed in mining^^ what you want is taking all this away to just let weapons talk aas they do every else in eve? oh pls notā€¦ all other options are more funā€¦ sure miner pvp is slower and the fight go over weeks and month and are not fighted with weapons but with yield

if you want ā€œyour beltā€ go into WH, lowsec, O.O where you can shoot everyone or have your sov rules to deal with the beltsā€¦ we talk here about highsec wardecs and moonmining and the systemowner in highsec is a NPC Factionā€¦ how about every moonchunk costs 10% of the worth in isk to the Faction you in there? how abput every mĀ³ not mined costs an extra fee?
so you realy THINK about starting that drill and make a chunk you cant mine in 2 weeks because lack of mining power?

everything is more entertaining and fun as going suspect and kill the miners for mining in ā€œthe wrong spotā€^^ (even the talkings about this in forum ;))

Just because they go suspect when mining your moon doesnā€™t mean you have to shoot them, it just gives you more options, you can still do all the other things you mentioned, just adds another one.

come on dont lie to yourself^^

in fact it adds more than one option, you could shoot them, extort them, use ore as bait
so many fun things

yea but the only thing a miner want you cantā€¦ mine

you can still mine as a suspect

there ya go, happy?

Wondering Monk is a friend, but I like his Idea of having Self-destruct for Upwell structures

As away for non-pvp corps to end a war dec

Talking about the HQ and the structure system. Is there any logical reason why you dont need standings at all in empire HS to anchor citadels.

POS structures in HS required standings towards the empire they were to be anchored. How are citadels different?

And the 2 week of Wardec Ban on a corp after losing a HQ. Is it one way or both ways?
Can i declare war on a corp. Set a HQ and then deanchor that HQ to be immune for 2 weeks with given corp?

Wardecs were ā€˜working as intendedā€™ until player pressure made them change their mindsā€¦

Well, looking forward to those changes in like a ten years time thenā€¦

CAS was Great! But I did that so many years agoā€¦

Come one - Come all - Ooops only 1 person with a brain so far!!!

maybe we need to use alts to make more replies on here?

You used to need them for POSā€™s, but then they decided that since POSā€™s were already limited to moons, that was extra-restrictive.

They could stand to bring that back for Upwells, though.
